@mack1348 indeed...the movie was a steamin' pile of... you know..
but this soundtrack rocks. best tracks, I think, De La Soul & Teenage Fanclub "Fallin'" - This one (especially the second half when it slows down) and Onyx & Biohazard "Judgement Night" is wicked. - Cypress hill & Sonic Youth "I love you Mary Jane" is a classic and Cypress Hill & Pearl Jam's "Real Thing" is good too.
They use to spin this album on our college radio station when I was 10 a real album you would hear slayer and biohazard which was on the soundtrack, sepultura, voivod, nuclear assault, kreator, megadeth, sacrifice, deathrow and others then this would spin a real street album and a real movie this fake crap today lies to you about how it was all along listen to this kids not jay z and the glam sell out rappers
Rap and metal colliding was something creative and new because it brought many different races together. And I'm mad how some of you say that linkin park and limp bizkit ruined the genre they mostly collaborated with rappers and such to bring a new audience. fucking haters, but yeah for some who supposedly don't have an open mind, then stay locked in a cage.
I had the chance to see Helmet in Pittsburgh 14 years ago at a club called Metropol. I went there with my boss on a Friday. It was funny because, we had to work the next day, and we came in there hungover, smelly, deaf, and hoarse. Needless to say, we had a awesome night!
Here are the facts about "I'm the man".... The Beastie Boys were sampled, Mettalica was sampled, Run-D.M.C. was sampled, Sam Kinison was sampled, The movies "Easy Money" was sampled. The guitar riffs were based on the Jewish song,"Hava Nagila."
@dreamscape03 Apparently, 98% of the people who disagree with me have shitty taste. Yup, throw those numbers and percentages around. I don't give 23% of a shit.

These two groups were nowhere near each other when these two recordings were mashed together, I read a long time ago that most of the album was the same way. While it sounds good, that takes a lot away from it for me. I might be wrong, though.
I don't care what anybody says...As DOPE as this album is and all 90's mash up soundtracks....it was RAGE AGAINST THE FREAKIN' MACHINE who perfected
Rap/ Rock and their debut album was 2 years before this for the record.
There will never be a better band for that sound than RAGE!...EVER!
They may not have invented the sound but name a band or mashup that was or is better....NOT this album, not Spawn, not Linkin Park, not Styles of Beyond NOBODY!
I agree that in the mid to late 90s rap rock took a new plateau as a viable musik source then it all faded around 2005, however most don't realize it got a new name of sorts: HorrorCore, check out ICP, Twiztid, Sicktanick, Kid Krusher, Psychopathic records, Serial Killin Records, and many more!!!!
Damn... The national anthem of my youth.... And i'm from 69... for the lazy ones... i'm 41... I've been listening to this since 93... Pickjs me up and makes me smile....

Let's be honest Run DMC & Aerosmith's version of Walk this Way is WAAAYYY overrated. The Beasties supposed rap-rock stuff from the 80's is really just rock or hip hop with rock samples.
I agree that the Judgement Night album, was an important album, for fans to the mix of "rap" & the Metal..BUT, Don't forget Anthrax was first with the mix of rap and metalriffs in : I am the Man..That was in 1987. Yeah, there's been several attempts at this "fusion" of genres which were indeed notable, NOTHING was able to capture the raw urban qualities of both true hip-hop at the time and caertain splintered pockets of punk derivitive.
Probably the most fucked up riff Page ever wrote (in a good way)

Yeah, there's been several attempts at this "fusion" of genres which were indeed notable, NOTHING was able to capture the raw urban qualities of both true hip-hop at the time and caertain splintered pockets of punk derivitive.
