I have my own method of killing the guy twice. As soon as I get to the part where the door locks, I toss a plasma grenade to the Gold Elite who blows up and dies. Later on in the level, when you see the cutscene when the door unlocks and the Gold Elite comes out, you still have to kill him again at the end. Try it.
you dont even need to do this, just get a pistol, and shoot through the little window in the door(Towards the middle) And it takes damage, keep shooting untill it dies. And no, it wont respawn okay? Oh yeah, I love doing this. It's a lot of fun once you actually GET the warthog inside. Then you could drive it around. The tip is to use another warthog to push the front one in with.
