  • Love seeing anything from then or earlier in color.Wish we had color TV when the U.S did in 1954.

  • Magnificent! What a shame we didn't have colour TV in those days, then we would have had the chance of seeing The Magic Circle Club re-run until much later than the mid-'70s. Thanks for posting.

  • Excellent Historic Piece.. but this was 1965.

"Magic Circle Club" didn't start until early 1965 unless this piece with Nancy Cato was pre "Magic Circle".

Also the Grass out the front looks quite established.

Interesting to note the Helipad was located out the back of the carpark back then.. You can just spot it top rear centre in the opening shot.

In later years Choppers would land out the front in the middle of that grassy lawn.

Marvellous stuff.. Thanks for posting !!

  • I'd say it's '64, for a couple of reasons:

    1) The Boeing 727 started Aussie service in 1964 - the delivery flight landing from the US was covered live on TV, and it's that flight which is featured in this doco - the woman in the clip was one of the passengers (and the doco also features footage of ATV-O cameras on the tarmac at Essendon when it landed!).

    2) "The Magic Circle Club" grew out of a show called "The Children's Show", which began on August 3rd 1964. Nancy was host of both shows.

  • This is definately priceless...
