  • Great video! But I agree with the earlier comment that it is all about what the customer wants.

  • This is a great video on how to clean offices

  • it was ok but the mopping he could of done better he didnt rinse it out at all!

  • i been a janitor for over 6 years and i love watching this clip because it realy goes over alot of ways to clean offices alot easyer but i do have 1 question. Moping why didnt you go over what most janitors call the 8. i get chewed out by my boss for not mobing in a figure 8 even tho at schools they do it the same way you do but in some offices they get pissy about it (

  • @brass76 We do talk specifically about mopping in a figure 8 and he demonstrates it too.

  • Wow Great video we can use this at our small company astarservicesinc.squarespace

  • Good V. The video is about how to clean, they show u and wanted to help u how to do a great job. It's not about illegal immigrant negga.

  • The problem is we have so many illegal immigrants from Mexico doing this kind of work, you'll never see white person anymore doing office janitorial cleaning. There usually the owners they hire the immigrants for low wages and no health insurance trying to cut cost to compete. If they were hiring US citizen workers than that is a different story bidding wouldn't be so cheap.

Of the entire illegal immigrant population living in the United States, 22% are in the cleaning industry.

What you can do is put together a referral campaign in which you will make a list of all commercial and residential cleaning companies that could use your service as a sub-contractor. Your program might be were you give a percent of the job to the person referring or a straight referral fee of like $25.00 for every job you get. A referral program is all about building relationships.

    Hope this helps.

  • I just started a cleaning business involving pressure washing and window cleaning, but i was most curious about receiving some sub-contract work or plain referrals...Any idea? i got plenty of ambition to make some dough, but could use some direction to speed things up a bit. (all advise is appreciated) Thanks and G.B. J.B.

  • It all depends on what the customer wants.

  • I do not clean the desks. Hate to mess with people's personal space. If they do want me to I request that before their day is over to remove EVERYTHING personal off their desks. Computers and their componets are ok but I do not move them at all. It is a liability cleaning them.

  • my family owns a cleaning company, and i clean everynight. my question is why are you vacuuming the carpet with a backpack instead of a regular vac?? just curious. i dont agree with that

  • @TheBlacksheep2020 If you're a professional cleaner and not using back packs then you're way behind the times. Uprights do have their place and we use them in certain areas, but productivity studies show that back packs are twice as productive as uprights and their design is more ergonomically friendly.

  • @thejanitorialstore i didnt know that. i guess we need to check into it. thanks for the info!

  • @thejanitorialstore Yes I agree that backpack vacuum is good in case when you have vynil or wood floors, but upright is way stronger and picks up dust better than any canister or backpack.

  • @rashadsa That is a matter of opinion and depends on the quality of the vacuum you're using. Uprights do have their place and we use them in certain situations. But if you buy a good quality back pack, it does as good or better than an upright on all surfaces.

  • @thejanitorialstore I agree. Using backpacks is way more cost effective than uprights in large area. I don't know what the people who dislike them are talking about. They must be using cheap back back vacs.

  • where can i buy the full cleaning trainning dvd?

  • Does anybody have any ideas about pricing structure? I would really like to know how to bid these office jobs. Thanks

  • @GregoryPock

Pricing will vary from building to building and you might see prices as low as .05 sq.ft. for a 5 day per week service. The national average is at about .11 sq.ft.

  • My husband and I are starting our own Business,,,, this information is very helpful!

  • AFTER MOPPING AND FLOOR IS DRY WE DETAIL CLEAN ALL CORNERS USING DAMP MICRO CLOTH. IT MAKES A BIG DIFFRENCE.(once a month or so)

  • Yes, you should have a floor care program in place that includes detail cleaning like corners and edges. This video is for daily maintenance.

  • These are clips from the DVD

  • Bathroom cleaning is just the toilet? What about the walls and stalls and chrome fixtures? Bathroom cleaning is very involved work. The way we usually do it is just shower foam everything with disinfectant/cleaner, scrub it down, let it sit for 10 minutes to disinfect, hose it all down, squeegy everything (or it'll leave water spots) and then lightly mop the floor.

For windows I prefer to use a strip washer, a squeegee, and a paper towel for the edges; works faster and produces better results.

  • This is just a clip of what is included in the DVD.

  • Good video

  • I'm becoming a janitor soon, but i have to take an exam. What should I expect?

  • I like the fact that you get to work alone!!

  • I wish the cleaning crew we use at my office used these simple practices

  • geez even janitorz need training vids? 'o

  • You wouldn't believe how many people don't know the proper way to clean bathrooms. All they do is make extra work for the next shifts.

  • Awesome!
