talented so talented! Why am I so untalented? me with my grey hair, my 6 chords, ingrown toenail and 4kids who only want to play football? Is it because I am Irish or do I blame my parents?
it's a midi file I found on the web to which I "deleted" the guitar parts...
Comunque ho visto il vs. sito e devo dire che mi siete piaciuti, sopratutto per il vs interesse ai primissimi Genesis...sarebbe bello suonare insieme, anche se un po' difficile...
okay, seems like this ended up in typical brittish university debate, noone is right but everyone has a voice. This is my pure opinion; when Gabriel was replaced by Collins (even though, they both were in the band for some time together) the original Genesis sound disappeared, and with Hackett the arangement started lacking as well. Somehow Banks just became a shadow, which is a pity. His music is amazing!
Sublime rendition... As a sincere Genesis connoisseur, one enjoys these interpretations by musicians and admirers of Genesis' music around the world (e.g., Mirko Pirozzi), and glancing at comments that so passionately disdain the later Genesis oeuvre, one wonders why the entire body of work (1969-present) cannot be cherished in all its infinite and exquisite diversity.
I have to say once Gabriel left it wasnt the same and then when Hackett left it was not even worth listenin to their stuff anymore sooi would say Selling England By The Pound and The Lamb Lies Down albums were the best. . . but this cat fucken nailed the outro of that cd awesome job dude
i know what i like and i like this alot..and love the guitar switch iplay the drums to this track alot from selling england...thanks wish i could have been there..
I'd like to recommend you the video of the project Transfinite posted here in youtube. It's only a short song but I know the the project and it's very cool. nAcoustic remembering some Hackett things.

when phil took over he made genesis a legend, that era of there music you like is crap a bunch of make it up as you go poorly written improvization crap it belong in low budget movies of the 70s and movies that amateur college students made in the 70s and those awful horror and drug movies of the 70s
shut the fuck up tony, stop talking shit. when phil took over the band turned into crap playing pop music dont you get it, at that age they did it for the money asshole not for the music FOR THE MONEY!! when the band started with peter gabriel and steve hacket everything was different, they didnt care about the money the wanted to write good songs like firth of fith, i know what i like, musical box etc. so think before you talk asshole full of puke semi digested shit
So for an artist to make money is always wrong?! Look at the people at the top getting paid big bucks nowadays -- at least Genesis were always fairly creative (in my opinion, anyway). A lot of us came into their music after the 5-man era and that's what got us into looking up the older material, which is the top-notch creme de la creme (again, my opinion.) ..I mean, just try to name 5 bands who kept playing the same shit (or same genre) for about forty years?...
You are a fucking idiot. The old material has little to no improvisation at all. The standard of composition is so involved and technically precise that your observations make no sense. Tony banks, the main songwriter, and Steve Hackett, are both classically trained musicians. I am pretty sure you are either joking or retarded. Please, leave the internet, and never come back.
I think Phil is a brilliant drummer, perfect for Genesis. I personally like all Genesis music, but for differing reasons - the creativity faded away once Peter and Steve had left the band, though. Selling England and The Lamb were awe-inspiring pieces of work, and this is a wonderful cover of a wonderful song. :)
wait, wait....I think that was Steve Hackett getting out of his chair whistling and applauding....
truly,........wonderful job...
btw....I think I hear Mike Rutherford crying... Mike,...Mike,...get back here, you gotta hear this guy....I'm sorry for the interruption, I'll be back soon, I have to go get Rutherford....he said something about a tissue or something....ciao!
Thanks to you for the very nice comment, I'm honored of having achieved that emotional link, probably indeed the quality which let Steve standing out of the crowd...
Wow, that was a breath of fresh air ! Wonderful cover of a wonderful song.I´ve uploaded a couple of solo Hackett tunes you may enjoy. Thanks again - great job.
well done! cool switch between instruments, liked electric parts best, acoustic part was not as strong as the electric, I think.
