This a perfect example of good surf videography. I feel inspired to go surf with some friends right now. This is much better than a lot of the other surf videos I've seen lately.

when you film surfing with the 7d do you do pull focus at all? what do you set your aperture to?

@BlueMediaGroup aperture is usually between f/5.6 (evening) to f/11 (sunny). if the surfer in focus moves a significant distance towards or away from me then yes i have to pull focus, but usually only slightly.
