I used to watch dear John probably once a week and all of the songs in the movie remind me of him and help me get through my days without him. It will be very difficult through the first round of training, you can keep in touch using letters, but usually in the second and third round he can have his phone. One piece of advice...keep his spirits up, and let him know (frequentl) that you will be here when he gets back and that you miss him. It will help him a lot!
