  • Easy Goer may not have been Secretariat(who still lost three big races as a sophomore)orManO'War,but he was one of the rare Hall of fame champions that come along once in a lifetime,&he could beat any legend on his best day.Three year old record mile in 1:32,second fastest Belmont Stakes of all time, his Travers,Suburban,Whitney,Champagne,Belmont,Gotham were all out of this world&close to track records, from 6.5f through 12f,& his campaign was historic,Belmont,Whitney,Travers,Woodward,Jockey Club

  • Kind of like his " " (qoutes) that you and others pointed out on his comment about "Easy Goer being the only racehorse that could defeat GhstZ at his best, and Easy Goer at his best could defeat any horse anytime." But he'd rather do his name calling nonsense instead.

  • Del Mar, I know what " " (qoutations)mean and he was the one doing the name calling. But that is this guys m.o. This is what he has been doing on this video for yrs now, what would you expect.

  • I rest my case you rotten LIAR!! LIAR!!

  • @ghostzzapper Rest your case? What was the BEYER that you said the Gotham was???? a 116!! Let me repeat that, a 116, a 116! So what was the beyer again LIAR?? How far were we both off? LOL! More of your vulgar language. And that was in QOUTATIONS qouting YOU. That "dickhead" comment was QOUTING YOU calling me names. Do you know what the qoutations are for? You really are slow !!

  • Hey, YOU did talk some sense into everybody's head by stating that "Easy Goer was the only horse who could beat GZ at his best. And that Easy Goer could beat any horse anytime at his best." There is about the only senseful statement you have made on this video for the last 2 or 3 years that you have been on day and night 24/7.LOL

  • I think you are better sticking with your comments before you remove them. Stick with that "Easy Goer could beat GZ at his best. And Easy Goer could beat any horse anytime at his best." You look a heck of alot smarter making those comments than calling people vulgar names.

  • And Sunday Silence was the most underrated horse in history, not GZ. Easy Goer and SS had each other too also prove how great they were, not just all of Easy Goer's 120 or better brilliant performances. GZ had Aggadan and ran a couple of races a year. Even Skip Away had Gentlement and Formal Gold(two more brilliant horses). Cigar, you could say he doesn't win all those in a row if Holy Bull doesn't get hurt. Alysheba even had Bet Twice and Ferdinand.

  • LOL! Funny how you made NOT ONE, but TWO comments on Easy Goer at his best could beat ANY horse ANYTIME and how EG frightens you,and they were made two years ago(shows how long you have been on this video all day and night calling people "motherfuckers, cocksuckers, dickheads"), well after two great rivals,Easy Goer and SS faced each other(some 20 years after LOL). By the way SS,Skip Away and Cigar were better and accomplished way more than GZ.

  • LOL! That was the 2004 Azeri, the SIX YEAR OLD Azeri who ran 8th in the Met,ran 5th in the Classic, ran 4th in the Phipps H., got beat by Mayo on the Side!!, got beat in the Personal Ensign H! What are you talking about??

  • Also this qoute from you, "Easy Goer was capable of beating ANYBODY at their BEST." You said it and I happen to agree.

  • And those are your own words, you better stick to these qouted words. Easy Goer scares you, and Easy Goer at his best could beat GZ. You should stick to those words and stop with the other stuff.

  • Here goes Mr. Dudette Intellectual. "With the EXCEPTION of EASY GOER, none of the other named horses could beat GZ at his best, his 1:32 2/5 mile under a hand ride, could have easily been 1:31 and that scares me." And then you say your "with any hope" to match GZ's vicious speed. Sounds hypocritical to me. Sounds to me like Easy Goer at his best could beat GZ.

  • In any way you compare them, beyers at the ages of 2 and 3, amount of 120+ beyers, competition, great rivals, running 11 times per year, or running a few times per year, Bloodhorse top one hundred book, etc, it is Easy Goer. Easy Goer ran vastly, superior figs at 2 and 3 years old, and only ran a few times at the age of 4 and they were comparable(122).

  • @EASYGOERFLIES props u luvin goer, I THINK IT'S COOL, WE ALL "STILL" LUV HIM. watched his races closer 4 real opin, after C'ing him, NO DOUBT IN MIND 1 OF ALLTIMEGR8T'S. yor fervor made me a fan. BLMNT :26 WOW!, IMO doesn't beat man, sec on all's best day; put $ after c'ing zapp's races i go zapp even at 1/4 but no shock if goer wins. ZAPP: ISLEN BCup HANDCPP @ MONMTH, 1/8, muddy, 128 beyer 1:47. best since GROOVY'S(sprinter)130,1987. andrew beyer "sec 139 @BLMNT" DAY needed 2 go in BCC. DAY??

  • Hey, did you do the comparisons yet of Easy Goer's and GZ's beyers at 2 and 3 yrs old? Do you necessitate me to repeat them? I know you are a little slow so I may have to continuously do so for you.

  • Makes it even worse that the other two beyers were as three yr old, and not as a two yr old. And YOU are the one calling people "cocksuckers and dickheads", and I NEVER used your profanity. If you call dudette a profanity in response to your mouth that I really know your a lost cause.

  • LOL!Wait so now Sunday Silence,Criminal Type,Housbuster,Prized,Is It True,Cryptoclearance were not tons superior to Saint Liam,Roses in May,Pleasantly Perfect,a washed up female Azeri, Funny Cide and Birdstone? Keep posting. You better tell me, and by the way GZ BEAT these listed horses in ONE race. I am sorry, two races, The Woodward win by a hard fought head with a 114 beyer

  • How about, "Of all horses since Bid, ONLY Easy Goer coould beat GZ at his best. Easy Goer was the only one who could match GZ vicious speed." I agree with that also

  • I agree, that is cut and dry about the beyers at 2 and 3 yrs old.

  • Put it this way. Easy Goer's speed figures were clearly far superior to GhsZ at the ages of two and three, and as a four yr old EG only ran a few times and they were still up there at 122 in the Suburban, comparable with GhstZ!

  • Whatever comparison you look at- competition, great rival, beyers,Bloodhorse top one hundred, constitution, being able to run 11 times a year instead of three times a year, beyers at the ages of two and three, etc=Easy Goer.

  • I have listed them: Clearly Sunday Silence,Criminal Type,Prized,Housbuster,Crypto, were tons tons tons superior to Saint Liam,Aggadan and even superior to beating Roses in May and Pleasantly Perfect ONE time in one race.

  • That makes it even worse. GZ's two beyers as a two yr old were 99 and 84 in a loss, and his next 2 beyers as a three yr old were 102 and 99, then a 106 and 116 as a three yr old! Easy Goer's beyers as a two yr old were 116,115,112,104,and 101 in losses, then starting as a three yr old he ran 118,112,115, then a 126 in the Belmont as a three yr old, then 121 in Whitney,124 in Travers, 117 in slop Woodward,122 in JCGC,124 in Classic all as a three yr old. Do the comparison yet?? As 2 and 3yr olds?

  • @DELMARCLUB1 who cares about beyer figures.if that were the case id never lose money at the track..all beyer figures are is a tool to help you hadicap its not the end all be all.easy goer was great as was zapper and it would have been 1 hell of a race if they were to ever meet.

  • Again DELMARCLUB your argument has revealed how deceptive and unreliable you are! You've listed GZapp's competition and conveniently excluded all those Classic,Grade 1 and multi-millionaires that he disposed of like trash on his way to HOTY!

  • @ghostzzapper I actually just right now looked up Easy Goer and GZ's Timeform ratings as a comparison, and ironically they were both given 137 Timeform ratings. Easy Goer,SS & GZ were all given 137 timeform ratings. I guess that kind of says alot also.

  • LOL! I ONLY called you a dudette AFTER your profanity of calling people "cocksuckers and dickheads." I never used those two words EVER. You better go back and check, LOL

  • How about the beating inflicted by Scrimshaw by over seven lengths with an 84 beyer. Some beating losing by a nose with a rough trip and terrible ride with a 100+beyer in a debut, then coming back and running the fastest two yr old races(116,115,112) in the 1980's,1990's,2000's along with Devils Bag and Seattle Slew as two yr olds

  • Yes I have Easy Goer's beyer in his two losses as a two year old and both were over 100 beyers at 101 in losses. So here goes Easy Goer as two yr old-116 Champagne,112 Cowdin,115 allowance at 6.5F,104 maiden win,101 in his two losses!!!! GZ=99,84( in the 7 length loss),102,99..Do you see the comparison yet???

  • I will be waiting for YOU to recite and give me ALL of Easy Goer's astronomical beyers, since you found I was 2 beyer points off, and you then lowered it yourself 2 beyer points to a 116(ironically the same fig as GZ's Vosburgh, which says the 118 Gotham is faster than a 116 anyway)! Go look at his Woodward? He won by a hard fought head with a 114 beyer. Easy Goer won the Belmont with a 126 beyer, the Whitney(121),Travers(124),Woodward in slop(117),Jockey Club(122),Classic loss(124)

  • I've also noticed your failure to list EZ's beyer for the beating inflicted by Lorenzoni on his debut! He ran 6 times as a 2YO but have listed only 4 beyers what are trying to hide by not showing all of them?

  • LOL! Disrespecting the jockey that GAVE ME all those 120 or better beyers???? LOL! The horse,Easy Goer, gave everybody those performances. Pat Day, the JOCKEY, calls his own riding,"Absolute and total rider error", he doesn't need everybody else to state the obvious, LOL. Whooptee dooo, I said his beyer was a 120 in a particular race & it turned out to be a 118, so that must mean all his other 120+ beyers are wrong &much lower, try again dudette. Why don't you give me ALL of his beyers then???

  • DELMARCLUB1 so now you are disrespecting the jockey that gave you all those 120+ beyers...PATSY?? I must give you credit for your talent of providing flawed & misleading information! GZapp highweighted @123lbs? Go look at his Woodward & Classsic! Your admission of EZ's 118 reveals a flaw in your statistical source when coupled with fact that your crony EASYGOERFLIES keep saying 7 OR 8 120+ beyers makes your argument of having all his beyers look shaky!

  • "With the exception of Easy Goer, none of the other named horses since Spectacular Bid could beat Ghostzapper at his best, his 1:32 mile under a hand ride, he could have easily gone 1:31." And "Easy Goer is the only named horses since Spectacular Bid to match Ghostzapper's vicious speed." People, debates are great, but no need to demean both horses to make your points. Let's just agree they were both great horses and stop the demeaning of great horses.

  • @PhippsStable I actualy agree with you Mr. Phipps. That qoute is what led me to comment on this particular video

  • Insult those? Who the heck is the guy who calls people names such as "cocksucker" or "dickheads" just because they don't agree with his take on GZ?? Please tell me who is doing the name calling nonsense? I will wait for that answer. I do not use any foul language and I sure as heck do not vote or spam comments EVER, that must be somebody else.

  • @sl7293 Well I thought you were inferring that I was the one who called people names and spammed people! When clearly I don't and didn't and have never done that, and in fact, the Ghostzzaper individual is the one who is doing the name calling, "cocksuckers, dickheads, etc." And this conversation is not about top 10 stuff. It is comparing beyers, and saying such and such a horse will dust another horse.I also wasn't referring to this video with Damascus, it's also on other vids,Secretariat,PO.

  • Who died and made you ruler of Youtube comment boards? You are the hypocrite who comments on Damascus(who I also think was a highly underrated horse) on videos that are not Damascus videos. An so on with Prove Out,etc. But if somebody(the also very highly biased Ghostzzapper individual, who says the only horse that would scare him is Easy Goer) comes and talks about beyers I feel I have every right to come back and talk about Easy Goer's beyers. By the way, putting down SS.EG is ok, but not GZ??

  • @DELMARCLUB1 My lone comment on Damascus on this GZ video wasn't a comparison between him and GZ. Rather, I said it is difficult to compare a horse like GZ who ran so sparingly with a top horse like Damascus who was asked to run constantly and at all distances whether in top shape or not. To my knowledge, no one has bombarded people here with dozens of posts extoling Damascus's virtues, rationalizing his losses, or assessing whether or not he belongs in the top 10 all time.

  • @sl7293 And yes, I am guilty of qouting JHirsch,Steve Crist, etc to in a way validate my point on Easy Goer and I have said it on many of the Easy Goer videos. If I commented on other non EG/SSvideos,then so be it, and I am sorry that offends you. As for the main point, that this conversation on this particular GZ video has led to an all out and never ending comparison between EG/GZ's exploits, that wasn't my intention. But when you are called names &r comparing beyers, exploits, etc it happens.

  • Many of the comments about Easy Goer on this video do not even mention Ghostzapper. They represent a crusade by a few people to convince others that EG should be ranked as a top 10 horse. These same points have been made by the same people, almost verbatim, literally thousands of time on many videos. At least some of these EG fanatics insult those who happen to disagree with them or mark comments with opposing viewpoints as SPAM. This isn't the way Youtube Comments is supposed to work.

  • He can't get over the Bloodhorse top 100 book within the Easy Goer piece and article stating correctly and clearly ,"Hall of Fame champion EASY GOER will ALWAYS,ALWAYS be mentioned in the same breath with the GREATEST of ALL-TIME." Amazing, and that is even stated after despicable Patsy Day riding cost him by an inch and desperate neck in two races against another all time great rival.

  • Did GZ run double the number of 120+ or higher beyers(more than any horse since Bid) in career.Did GZ run the fastest three yr old mile of all time in 1:32 destroying to a pulp SEC's record by 1 full second & a tick off Dr. Fager's world record, run the second fastest Belmont of all time with only Secretariat faster, run 6.5f right on tr.record as two yr old,run the fastest 7f of yr in Florida, run among the top 5 fastest Champagnes of all time, run among the top 3 fastest Whitney,Travers,Suburban

  • Easy Goer was simply the fastest racehorse since Bid. Easy Goer ran seven or eight 120+ or higher beyers in his career(that is DOUBLE the number that any horse ran since Bid, including your Ghostzop,Skip Away,Alysheba,John Henry,Cigar,Holy Bull,Formal Gold,Gentlemen, etc). Two despicable Patsy wait all Day rides got him beat an inch and desperate neck in two races vs. another all time great rival.

  • Whatever way you compare them, beyers, competition, rivals, Bloodhorse top one hundred article, Joe Hirsch,Crist,Nack, etc. Easy Goer had faster beyers than any horse since Bid and way more of them(double more than ANY horse since Bid), Easy Goer had far superior competition than GhZ, Easy Goer had a true all time great rival in S.S that beat him an inch and desperate neck(a real pulp LOL) in two races due to despicably bad Patsy wait all Day riding.

  • Now that we've got the competition part straightened away and listed. Let's go next and back to compare Easy Goer's beyers at 2,3,4 vs. GZ's four races a year. Easy Goer &GZ as two yr old=115 at 6.5F, GZ=99-hmm?. Easy Goer's others at 2=116,115,112,104;GZ=99,84,102,99=hmm?You tell me? Easy Goer at3,4yr old=126,124,124,122,121,122,117 and was highweighted at 127lbs giving away from 14-18lbs as an older horse. GZ=was highweighted at 123lbs.. Hmm

  • After listing Easy Goer's competition other than SS(if you call beating him to a pulp beating him by a nose and desperation neck in 2 races due to typically atrocious Pat Day riding, then so be it LOL),Criminal Type,Prized,Crypto,Housebuster,Proper Reality,Is It True, etc. You still want to come with Scrimshaw,Valid Video,Great Notion,Zayed,Aggadan(his greatest rival),Presidentialaffair,Zoffinger,Silver Wagon,Sir Shackleton?

  • Easy Goer's competition vs. GZ competition. Ane besides champions Sunday Silence, Criminal Type and two time champ Housebuster. Ok, let's look. Prized($2.2million) and beat him by twenty lengths. Cryptoclearance($3.3million),Proper Reality($1.7million),Is It True(just uner $1million),Slew City Slew($1.1mill),Blushing John($1.5million).Homebuilder($1.2mill),Clever Trevor($1.3mill),Expensive Decision(former WR holder,$500k), and those are besides SS,Criminal Type,Housbuster, etc.

  • Go look at Ghostzapper's debut race? He received a 99 beyer over a rock hard California track, while Easy Goer received a 115 beyer in that 6.5F race as a two year old. Your horse GZ then got an 84 beyer losing by over seven lengths. Easy Goer beyers a 115 at 6.5F, a 112 at 7F, a 116 at 8F as a two yr old. GZ got a 99,84,102,99. Look at the comparison dudette.

  • You can prove it on page 21??? Well it says, "Easy Goer is the best horse since Spectacular Bid, and he received a 118 beyer." So where do u get a 116? Looks like u were 2 points lower and I was 2 points higher? Huh

  • DELMARCLUB1 fastest 6.5f at 2YO? Go look at GZapp's debut race and tell me what you understand from the splits and final time! Can you honestly say EZ Goer could get anywhere near this horse after watching 2003 Vosburgh won by this horse with cheetah DNA! GZapp would fry EZ Lozer at any distance on any race track under any conditions!!

  • DELMARCLUB1 apart from Sunday Silence who beat him to pulp...let us look at who else your EZ Goer beat:Tiajuana,Icy Jr,Winners Laugh,Irish Actor,Trion,Diamond Donnie,Rock Point,Clevor Trevor,Shy Tom,Hadife,Yurtu & De Roach...very impressive competition...LOLOL! I wonder where bloodhorse rank these mules!!

  • DELMARCLUB1 I can prove your 120 beyer for the Gotham is a product of your hallucinations! Try reading page 21 of Andrew Beyer's"Beyer on Speed: A New strategy for the race track" and tell me if you still think he got a 120!

  • You don't only have to read the BldHrs top one hundred article.Qoute Joe Hirsch, the dean,or even Steve Crist, "Easy Goer would be mentioned in the same reverential breath as Citation(lost 4 of 5 to Noor),Secretariat(3 losses at 3 yr old),Man O War,Dr. Fager(lost 3 of 4 to Damascus),Forego(lost 2 of 3 to Big Spruce &Wajima),Kelso(lost 3 of 4 to Beau Purple),& his campaign acclaimed the greatest of all time,if not for the 2 typically atrocious Pat Day rides that got him beat a nose&desp.neck."

  • And not only the Bloodhorse Top 100 Easy Goer article, but that the Hall of Fame Eclipse Champion Easy Goer ran the fastest three yr old mile of all time in 1:32.2,thrashing SEC's record by 1 full second,a tick off Fager's world record, ran the second fastest Belmont of all time w/only Secretariat ever faster, ran right on tr.record at 6.5f at two, fastest 7f of yr in Florida, among the top 5 fastest Champagnes of all time, among the top 3 fastest Whitney,Travers,Suburban's of all time. That is why

  • Getting my stats? Yeah from the Bloodhorse top 100 book stating the obvious in the Easy Goer article that Easy Goer "will ALWAYS be mentioned in the same breath with the GREATEST of ALL -TIME." And that is even with getting beat an inch and desperate neck in two races against another all time great in S.S. You better go call up the Bloodhorse writers.

  • LOL! Now GZ would have been ranked ahead of Easy Goer,Sunday Silence,John Henry,Alysheba,Cigar,Skip Away,Swaps, etc? Yeah in your dreams buddy. If GhstZ ran more three times a year, was much sounder with a heck of alot more constitution, and ran against a great rival, or a few great horses, then maybe. Just like if Easy Goer did not lose two races by an inch and desperate neck due to despicably obvious Patsy wait all Day rides vs. a truely great horse in S.S., he would easily be Top 10 also. If?

  • Funny how Secretariat got beat in the Woodward,Whitney and Wood with every excuse in the book. And that Spectacular Bid got beat with every excuse in the Belmont and JockClub. Or that Citation lost four of five to Noor. Or that Kelso lost three of four to Beau Purple. Or Forego lost two of three to Big Spruce. Or Dr. Fager lost two of four to Damascus. Many of these all time greats had GREAT RIVALS like EG and S.S.! But they still had every excuse.

  • I will even say that if YOU ONLY looked at all the 120 or better beyers, or a few beyers, or a single beyer, it isn't everything because then Groovy beyering 133 and 132 in back to back races, or General Assembly's 130 beyer would make them "better" than GZ or Easy Goer. Not true in my book

  • And you are clearly mistaking that 116 beyer that Easy Goer ran as a two year old in the Champagne, the greatest beyer ever by a two year old in the 1980's,1990's,2000's. Or his 115 beyer coming near the track record at 6.5F at two, or what about all those 120 or better beyers at 3 and 4. A 126 beyer at 12F,at 12F is unheard of, another 122 at 12F in the JCGC, a 124 in the Travers,a 122 in the Suburban,a 121 in the Whitney,a 124 even in a loss in the Classic. The Bloodhorse qoutes MUST be correc

  • Funny how you don't mention another great horse SS, or the fact that SS,Criminal Type and Housebuster was tons, tons, tons superior to freakin Sir Shackleton,Silver Wagon, or even beating Saint Liam by a head with a 114 beyer. Hey remember Presidentialaffair,Zoffinger,Aggadan. GZ had a great rivalry with AGGADAN. Let's see, EG vs. SS, two of the greatest of all time, or Aggadan? You tell me

  • Scrimshaw beat him by SEVEN LENGTHS, a nose with a terrible trip and ride vs. SEVEN lengths?? Hmm. Funny how that horse Easy Goer comes back and runs the fastest two year old races than have been seen in the 1980's,1990's,2000's, with Seattle Slew and Devil's Bag, at 6.5F and 8F. What don't you understand yet?

  • Let me get this straight? YOU think that Ghostzapper was better than Easy Goer,Sunday Silence? Keep taking those meds. Those same DRF, Thor graph,Jerry Brown,Beyer,Bloodhorse top one hundred book- what did they state about Easy Goer and Sunday Silence, and Easy Goer's speed figures. Id love to know where you got that it was a 116????????? Wrong again dudette

  • Bloodhorse top 100 book in the Easy Goer piece, "Easy Goer will ALWAYS be mentioned in the same breath with the GREATEST of ALL-TIME." And you are correct, that is in spite of the despicable Patsy wait all Day rides that cost him by an inch and desperate neck in two races against another truely great horse in S.S. I will take the Bloodhorse Top 100 book also

  • Great point about the Bloodhorse top 100 book within the Easy Goer article. But what in the heck do you think Beyer,Thor Graph,DRF said about Easy Goer???? Go read the Bloodhorse top 100 book

  • As for "spewing every conceivable excuse for superhorses". How about ever conceivable excuse for Secretariat losing THREE times at three. Citation losing 4 of 5 to Noor. Kelso losing 3 of 4 to Beau Purple. Bid losing his two biggest races in the Belmont and Jockey ClubGC. Dr. Fager losing 2 of 4 to Damascus. Forego losing 2 of 3 to Big Spruce and Wajima. "Superhorses" must have alot of spewed excuses LOL! Many of them valid, except for Easy Goer and GZ I suppose LOL!

  • @ghostzzapper LOL!!!! The Bloodhorse top one hundred book STATES "EASY GOER will always be mentioned in the same breath with the greatest of ALL TIME." and that is despite the 2 typically atrocious Pat Day rides that got him beat a nose and desperation neck vs. another all time great horse. Huh????????? What??

  • He won ONE important race, ONE!! The Classic. I suppose that the Iselin, a Grade 3, the Tom Fool and Vosburgh are BIGGER than the Belmont Stakes,Jockey Club Gold Cup,Travers,Whitney,Suburban,Champagne,Wood Memorial and yes they both won the Woodward(your horse won by a head with a 114 beyer), and he got beat by 7 lengths by Scrimshaw.

  • What was HIS BEYER in the GOTHAM?????? I have Beyer's books and old racing times with his beyers! So you tell me Easy Goer's beyers that I just listed?? You tell me what ALL of his beyers were?? I am listening "dick head"! Easy Goer broke the track record by second in 1:32 2/5 on a 14 variant track, it was a 120, should have been even higher like his other beyers.

  • Is GZ a Hall of Fame eclipse award champion who ran the fastest 3 yr old mile of all time in 1:32.2,thrashing Secretariat's record by a full second,a tick off Dr. Fager's world record, ran the second fastest Belmont of all time w/only Secretariat faster, ran right on the 6.5f tr.record at two,ran among the top 5 Champagnes of all time at 8f at two,ran the fastest 7f of the year in Florida, ran among the fastest runnings of all time in Whitney at 9f,Travers at 10f,Suburban at 10f.

  • Did GZ run DOUBLE the number of 120+ or higher beyers of any horse since Spectacular Bid, in his career? Did he run in all three triple crown races after being a champion 2 yr old, then onto a historic, grueling, old time campaign? Did he have a great rival or even a good one? Did he run the fastest 3 yr old mile of all time in 1:32.2,second fastest Belmont of all time, right on tr.record at 6.5f at two, fastest 7f of year in Fla,among the fastest runnings of all time in Travers,Whitney,Champ,Suburb

  • Now you say, "Easy Goer was the only horse that would scare you." Ok fine. Let's be real about these opinions we have. I will say this. Easy Goer would be 100% a top ten all timer if not for the 2 typically atrocious Pat Day rides that beat him a nose and desperate neck in 2 races(agree with that or not) vs. another all time great rival in SS. You can possibly also say GZ would have been a top ten all timer if he ran more than a few times a year, was much sounder, etc. Fair enough?

  • He was given a championship because he routinely trounced a very nice horse, Is it True, four times that year and got beat once over a peanut butter track that he hated. Please learn something dudette. Now of course SS was a different horse. SS was the only horse who could take full advantage of Day's typically atrocious riding and beat him by a nose and desperate neck in two great races. They both ended up top thirties all time horses. Maybe GZ would be also if he ran more than 3 times/year.

  • Only seem to affect him? Those grapefruit size ankles and knees affected him twice at Churchill Downs causing him probs, and was why he wasn't as great around sharp turns! Those ankles and knees were frequently being treated with many remedies, and forced him into retirement after a few races at four. He should have been babied and ran three races a year like GZ and show up for the Classic like that!LOL. To say was GZ was better than Easy Goer,SS is simply wrong. Learn something

  • Heck, not only was Easy Goer faster and superior to GZ, so was Sunday Silence. SS was an all time great just like Easy Goer, and that is obvious. No shame at all in losing two races by a nose and desperation neck due to typically atrocious Pat Day riding to another all time great horse. Your horse was only affected by those qrtr cracks vs. Scrimshaw in allowance, Valid Video, Great Notion, and he could not run more than 3 races. LOL!There were simply no great rivals in his 2 years of 4 races/yr

  • Hand ride track record performances? Well Easy Goer was hand ridden in the Gotham with a 120 beyer, hand ridden the last furlong in the 12F Belmont with a 126 beyer, at 12F no less. Easy Goer was hand ridden in the Whitney(121 beyer), hand ridden in the Travers(124 beyer), hand ridden in the Suburban(122 beyer), hand ridden in the Jockey Club Gold Cup(122 beyer) at 12f no less, hand ridden in the Champagne and all wins at two. GZ, your 128 beyer over claimers in a G3 slop race.

  • Easy Goer= Hall of Fame eclipse award champion who ran the fastest three yr old mile of all time in 1:32.2,destroying Secretariat's record by 1 full second,a tick off the world record of Dr Fager, ran the second fastest Belmont Stakes of all time at 12f,only Secretariat faster ever, ran right on the 6.5f track record as a 2 yr old,the fastest 7f of the year in Florida, among the top 5 fastest Champagnes at 8f, right on track records in Whitney at 9f,Travers at 10f,Suburban at 10f. Mercedes?

  • And simple, Easy Goer was vastly faster than ANY horse since Bid. Easy Goer ran SEVEN or EIGHT(7 or 8) 120+ or higher beyers in his career(that is DOUBLE the number of any horse since Bid, including Ghostz(4),Cigar,Holy Bull,John Henry,Alysheba,Skip Away(4),Formal Gold(4),Gentleman(3),SS(1)) while SS ran ONE! Despicably bad riding got the horse beat an inch and desperate neck in two races vs. another great horse by the way.

  • If Easy Goer was a Honda than GZ was volkswagon beatle. You are correct Del Mar, this very hypocritical gentleman stated himself that Easy Goer and Formal Gold would be the only horses since Bid that would really scare Ghostzapper, too bad that Ghostzapper didn't have a rival even close to anything like s.s., and could only run three or four times a year, let's see him run 11 or 12 races in a year, believe me,he goes loses three or four of them.

  • And yes,Easy Goer did get beat a nose and desperate neck due to typically atrocious Pat Day riding vs.another great top thirties horse SS(SS was no Saint Liam or Roses in May or Valid Video or Silver Wagon or Aggadan or Great Notion or Scrimshaw who beat GZby 7 lengths in an allowance).Easy Goer had top ten all time talent, ability, constitution(something GZ did not have), speed-stamina combination, all time performances at 6.5F,7F,8F,9F,10F,12F,but those 2 atrocious rides(nose&desp.neck)=thirties

  • Hypocrite at it's best. You commented and said yourself that the ONLY horses since Bid that scare YOU are EASY GOER and Formal Gold(some honda accords LOL), along with of course Ghostzapper(who could ONLY runs few times a year).I hear sentimental BS about quarter cracks??? Easy Goer had the worst grapefruit size ankles and knees, and all of a sudden his maiden race is a BIG RACE, and the Met is bigger than the Jockey Club Gold Cup,Woodward,Whitney&Travers. He did not handle Churchill twice, true.

  • I believe it was Joe Hirsch or Crist that said it best, "If not for the 2 typically atrocious Pat Day rides that got him beat a nose and desperation neck in 2 races, Easy Goer would be mentioned in the same reverential breath as Citation(lost 4 of 5 to Noor),Secretariat(lost 3 times at 3yr old),Man OWar,Kelso(lost 3 of 4 to Beau Purple),Dr. Fager(lost 2 of 4 to Damascus)&Forego(lost 2 of 3 to Wajima &Big Spruce),and his campaign acclaimed the greatest in racing history."

  • Easy Goer's tactical speed was absolutely fine and perfect(was ridden atrociously in the Preakness nose and Classic-desp.neck), except for ONE race, and that was the 89' Breeders Cup Classic when he used a 12f race as a prep for the Classic, and had an extremely grueling, historic campaign, while SS was completely well rested and as fresh as can be taking off the summer and fall. And Easy Goer had the worst grapefruit size ankles and knees a champion horse could have. A little facts for you.

  • What's the matter, comments are made about Easy Goer, and people can't respond about what Easy Goer did? Nonsense, get over it, you repeatedly comment about Damascus on video's of Secretariat or Prove Out, get over it hypocrite.

  • Easy Goer was the vastly faster racehorse than any horse since Spectacular Bid in 1980. Easy Goer ran seven or eight 120+ or higher beyers in his career(That is double the amount of any horse since Bid, including Ghostzapper,Skip Away,Cigar,Holy Bull,Formal Gold,Gentlemen,Alysheba,Curlin,Zenyatta,John Henry, etc) while SS ran ONE! Despicably bad riding got the horse beat an inch and desperate neck in two races vs SS.

  • Easy Goer at age 4 ran the Suburban at 10 furlongs just three fifths of a second off the existing track record(set in a weight for age race) in 2:00 flat and was giving 12 to 18 pounds away, and in the Met Easy Goer gave Criminal Type MORE weight(8 pounds) than SS gave(5 pounds) and gave the rest of of the field up to 15 pounds. These two examples are in 1990( and it is more about the spread in the weights and how much weight you give away than amount carried),i.e. Fall Highweight(most over 130)

  • Zapp was a monster on the track. I would certainly put him alongside the three most devastating US thoroughbreds of all time: Secretariat (the best ever, imo), Dr. Fager and Spectacular Bid. In fact, Zapp and Sec have the two highest Beyer Speed Figures ever at 128 and 139 respectively, and both made almost identical explosive runs in a race - Sec at the Hopeful at 2 when he made a lightening quick last-to-first at the 1/2 mile, that shocked even his jockey, and Zapp's mighty Vosburgh in 03.

  • Ghostzapper remains in my opinion, the most underrated race horse in the history of the sport!! Mind blowing speed, more devastating than a category 5 hurricane over a shanty town...the few handicappers that took notice rated him the fastest horse in living memory...the bugatti veyron would need all 1200hp to come near him...he was that good! To effortlessly glide through fractions of 22,44, 1:08 irrespective of the distance made him virtually unbeatable...he could beat ANY horse when sound!!

  • @ghostzzapper The problem with ranking Ghostzapper was he raced so sparingly & only when in top condition. How can you compare him to, say, Damascus who ran more races in 5 months than G did in 5 seasons? They ran D whether he was well or ill & he won major stakes races at every distance from 7F to 2 mi. He ran 16 races as a 3 yr old including 2 races per month for 7 consecutive months. How would G have done if he ran that often & at distances up to 2 miles?

  • I agree, Easy Goer and Ghostzapper were total beasts and freakishly fast. Easy Goer had top ten all time talent,ability,constitution,heart,speed-stamina combo as evidenced by his many, many all time top ten performances in his career at 6.5F,7F,8F,9F,10F,12F but the 2 typically atrocious Pat Day rides that got him beat a nose and desperation neck in 2 races put him down into the top thirties with ss.

  • Qritical,it is clear "Handicapping" is beyond the workings of your microscopic brain. For you to describe my rebuttal as nonsense and that I am to "get the Fuck Outta Here" only to turn around and say "I can understand your statement" and "Yes your right" tells me you are one confused jackass!! The only thing your 'superhorse'turned around and did,was run a full six seconds slower his next attempt at the journey 22 days later!!

  • Alysheba did run 1:58 4/5 at the classic distance, on what type of track? Let me help you. The New York Times described the Meadowlands Race Track that day as "extraordinarily fast" to the point where a moderate 3 year old filly Ready Jet Go tied the six-furlong track record of 1:08 2/5 in a minor stakes race. Your statements should accurately reflect the facts in their proper context. The win was good but not the "near world record" performance you would want to have us believe took place!!

  • Yes your right, but he still ran the time, regardless of any New York Time description, he finished out in 1:58 4/5, then he turned around and ran 1:59.4/5 in the Woodard, dont use the New York Time to bolster your point of view, Sheba could run with the best of them, Period.

  • This was a very deep and talented field.

  • I know the '98 Classic had a ton of talent but this group had 2 World Cup Winners, 2 Classic winners, and a Distaff Champion. Awesome!

  • Easy Goer- Still this very day ran the Fastest 8F ever by any 3yo in History and he was 1/5 of a second off Dr.Fager's World Record, and he actually galloped out 9F in 1:45 and Change in it.Still to this very day the 2nd Fastest Belmont Stakes ever behind only a horse named Secretariat!!Brilliant speed as a 2yo-still to this day the fastest beyer ever by any 2yo,fastest beyer by any 3yo,any derby prep..Brilliance at 2,3 and 4. Easy Goer ,SunS. and Cigar-the 3 best since the Bid.

  • You were obviously on Mars between November 16,2002 and May 30,2005. Cigar and Sunday Silence were nice race horses but Ghostzapper could crush both Cigar and Sunday Silence in his sleep. Easy Goer is the only of the named horses with any hope of matching Zapper's vicious speed. Take a look at his Tom Fool win, 1:20.2 after ripping through the first 6F in 1:08.1, or his Metro' Mile 1:33.1 after trotting a half mile in 44.2,6f in 1:08.2 without breaking a sweat.

  • @ghostzzapper Cigar's 95 win was one of the most impressive in history. he went undefeated that year. I suggest you watch the race and his time was over a muddy racetrack.

  • @bnegs521 and i suggest you watch Inside Information's race moments earlier that day...1:46.0 for 9f...119 beyer, compared to Cigar's 117...hmmm...tells you what the race track was like that day!! An ordinary horse, L'Carriere ran approximately 1:59.4 in that same race with Cigar!!

  • @ghostzzapper Um if Inside Information was so great he should have went 10F at the classic distance and beat him. But he raced at 9F because that is what suited him. Cigar is an all time Champ. Inside Information I do remember him but horses who are most revered are those to win at the CLASSIC distances buddy.

  • @bnegs521 OMG!!! you don't have clue what your talking about...he or him,I do remember him! lolol...Your IQ must be equal to your shoe size...Inside Information was a filly you nitwit...lolol! The race i am referring to is The 1994 Breeders Cup Distaff where she crushed, arguably, the most talented field of fillies and mares in racing history by 13 1/2 lengths, still the largest margin of victory for a Breeders Cup race! At least research a topic before you come and make an ass of yourself again!

  • @ghostzzapper And I am saying so the hell what. Who cares. Cigar is a horse that will go down in history with the greatest of all time. No one cares about Inside Information. If the horse was so great she should have beaten Cigar head to head. I am only interested in the all time best horses or horses at the top of their calss. I could care less about the other races. And neither could anyone else. So here is the translation for you RETARD CIGAR- ALL TIME GREAT. PERFECT SEASON! I.I.=WHO CARES

  • @bnegs521 - Are you for real?. Perfect season?...Lots of horses have had undefeated seasons....LOL you are the worst Amateur out there. Your arguments are very weak, and your attempt to act as if you know anything is what exposes you for the fraud you are :) Cigar LOL. What is next?...Cigar is better then Sea The Stars?, Dancing Brave, Brigidier Gerrard, Nijisky2, Northern Dancer, DR.Fager, Affirmed?. Hell even the great Filly Zarkava would absolutely destroy Cigar. Move on down the road Son.

  • @TicinoParadise Lots of horses have had perfect seasons. Gimmie a break not at that level you moron. And his streak of wins was what again 16 in 1995 and 1996 you homo. He was the first to accomplish that since Citation. When he retied he won MORE MONY THAN ANY racehorse EVER! Cigar was ranked as the 18th greatest racehorse of all time by the US thoroughbred association. OF ALL TIME. You are a sad mess of man if you even call yourself that. You know NOTHING. Go back to your room old man.

  • @bnegs521 - Old Man...Lol... What are you 15?... using words like Homo in your arguments ??...relax Champ, unless you wanna continue your nonsense. You Make it seem like I am insulting Cigar by comparing him to the others I listed. Get your head outta your ass. I was at Woodbine, when he lost to Alphabet Soup, and always remember Cigar was Cigar Because the Great Holy Bull Injured himself in the Donn, and Retired shortly after. HB- 9 graded stakes wins in 1 year. 6 Grade 1's.

  • @bnegs521 - You can add Sea Bird II to that list also. Do you even know half of the horses I just listed??...cause if you did you would tone that Bullshit down. I don't go by US Thoroughbred Assoc Rankings , The sport is world wide....

  • @TicinoParadise Cigar was also voted HORSE OF THE DECADE. Do thgose people know nothing as well?? LOL Why do you insist on making such an ass out of yourself? Or rather allowing me to Vagina'sparadise. Isn't that your screenname? You are too caught up in silly times instead of wins and losses. He won almost 10 million in his career. TWO HORSE OF THE YEAR HONORS, THE DUBAI CHAMPION, BREEDERS CUP CHAMPION... should I keep going? nah... your an assface anyway who knows NOTHING.

  • Comment removed

  • @ghostzzapper Who cares you are talking about fillies and mares. Really? LOL In the same breath as Cigar and Ghostzapper and Easy Goer and Tiznow. You are a RETARD.

  • @bnegs521 retard??? You're truly pathetic...deep down i know you feel like the jackass that you truly are!! It's not my fault you have the IQ of an ox. Call me what you wish but that will do nothing to enhance your intelligence-starved brain or prevent you from spewing garbage in an attempt to try and fit in, to a conversation that you are obviously clueless about!! The public will be the judge...I remember him...LOL!!

  • @ghostzzapper Oh my name is Ghostzapper and Inside Information is a better horse than Cigar. I am truly one of the smartest horse race aficionados around. LOL!! Even the announcer said look at this time and on this racetrack but that means nothing because my name is ghostzappper and I"M AWESOMMMMME!!!!

  • @bnegs521 did you bother to proof read your comment before posting it...What is the point your trying make??Before meeting you i didn't know it was possible for a person to be so dumb...thank you for the experience...you have considerably altered the yardstick for measuring stupidity...you are off the charts!!

  • @ghostzzapper - I love Ghost to death and would rate him up there with the great, and fast as F@ck Dr.Fager. Horse like Ghost , Secretariat, and Dr.Fager(Just as an example) could win at 4-5 distances, carrying high weights, and As was the case for Big Red and the great Dr, they also won on the Turf . All wonderful, Top Shelf horses.

  • @TicinoParadise to this day none of his critics have been able to explain why this horse is not considered great by them!! They say truly brilliant horses come along every 25 to 30 years...looks like we will have to wait another 20 years or so before the next one shows up because the last one came, delivered and retired with hardly anyone taking notice!!

  • @ghostzzapper - You also forgot the 1:59 flat at 1 1/4m in the Classic. If he had really tried he would have easily ran 1:58 and Change...Easily. Easy Goer was a Fast fast horse, but Zapper Buried some VERY good Colts during his career, and did it with ease(Aside from ST.Liam), not to mention how muchhe suffered from Quarter cracks his whole career. Who was the last horse to post a 128 beyer.....Zapper :) Cheers.

  • @queenluciaa that's exactly what i was just thinking? i looked up at the screen again to make sure i didn't double click on to a different race by accdnt... don't get me wrong i love easy and all the comments r legit he was an awesome horse... but i don't think it's unreasonable, with the power he was finishing with, to think zapper encouraged past the 1/4 could have hit .25 for the 1/2

  • @queenluciaa My thoughts exactly!!

  • Ghostzapper was a total freak. After reviewing several of his races I have to conclude he was the best horse since at least Skip Away and probably better than him, and even Cigar. You'd have to go back to the 1970s to find horses that could run with the zap.

  • Azeri should have ran in the Distaff where she would have been EVEN money to win.

  • Fine effort from Azeri and it would've surely won the Distaff. Bad move by the owners...

The question is, how is Zenyatta likely to fare if she goes to the Classic?

  • @DanielSong39 Um she fared quite well.

  • Easy Goer-brilliance,longevity,and consistency all in one is right.Easy Goer won at 6f,6.5f,7f,8f,9f,10f,and 12f.Easy Goer still has the fastest mile ever run by a 3yo(in his 2nd start as a 3yo),the 2nd fastest belmont ever run behing Secretariat.Easy Goer-one of the GREATEST 3YO CAMPAIGNS ever in the history of the sport as he beat older horses more times as a 3yo than Many Past legends.Easy Goers beyers were astronomical with a 126 belmont,125,124,etc..and an astronomical 138 timeform rating!

  • Easy Goer was a great horse but he was a big oaf who lacked tactical speed, which is why Sunday Silence - also a great horse - was able to beat him 3 of 4 times, and I suspect Ghostzapper would have beaten both of them.

  • ghostzapper > any other horse

  • This page has had alot of debate concerning greatness. What are people's criteria for greatness? On this page about Ghostzapper, there is alot about brilliance/talent (as reflected in speed figures), versatility(winning at sprints and routes), and beating the best other horses in big races. Given the changes in the breed, in training, and the philosophy of "handicap" racing, how much does durability,long-term consistency, scope of accomplishments, and weight carrying still matter?Whats most vital?

  • A book by Nick Mordin entitled "Winning Without Thinking" provides a useful insight towards understanding the impact of the "modernization" of the racing industry and how it influences our views of the champions of the today. For me winning the big races on the big days remains vital. That is why in only 2:24 seconds, the unimaginably brilliant Secretariat imprisoned our souls forever!

  • I agree that the criterion of judging greatness is changing and will continue to do so. And I agree that the trend is to place emphasis on performance in "big" races. The Europeans have long placed greater emphasis on brilliance and singular performances than on weight carrying, durability, or the number of stakes wins. Many of the most revered European horses made fewer than 15 starts with many having less than 10.And as handicap racing declines, the US will continue in such a direction as well

  • Obviously, there are those that feel very passionately that Ghostzapper was an all-time great and the best horse horse since Spectacular Bid. And there are others who disagree.Ultimately, this is all subjective. Yet,these types of debates are what makes horse racing so appealing.Personally, I do not feel Ghostzapper is an all-time "Great".But,I do feel he was a very very good horse and had exceptional talent. This page is dedicated to Zapper,so enuff of my critiques.

  • I do agree with your same arguements being in industry for so long these arguements do make racing so special..Zapper was a great horse, a superior talent, but I remember watching Easy Goer go 1:32 for mile in the Gothman Handicap at 3yo not even a full handride by Pat Day, "That is greatness" so many great talents come in and out of the game we can argue like this forever, I do respect Zappers Talent, its guys like us why the legends of these animals will never die....

  • Easy Goer-brilliance,longevity,and consistency all in one is right.Easy Goer won at 6f,6.5f,7f,8f,9f,10f,and 12f.Easy Goer still has the fastest mile ever run by a 3yo(in his 2nd start as a 3yo),the 2nd fastest belmont ever run behing Secretariat.Easy Goer-one of the GREATEST 3YO CAMPAIGNS ever in the history of the sport as only the immortal CITATION beat older horses more times as a 3yo!Easy Goers beyers were astronomical with a 126 belmont,125,124,etc..and an astronomical 138 timeform rating!

  • I think Easy Goer is perhaps the greatest animal Ive ever seen run I actually saw the belmont, Travers, Woodard, Jockey Club Gold Cup Wins, an amazing horse, he has the wrong jockey, should have used Cordero or Pincay, but thats just racing, but take nothing away from Sunday Silence a supreme animal whos trainer The Bald Eagle knew racing tactics and how to beat Easy Goer. Ive seen many great Easy Goer is right up there with the Bid, Forego, any many other racing immortals.

  • IMO, the best horses since Bid are John Henry, Alysheba, Sunday Silence, Easy Goer, Holy Bull, Cigar, and Skip Away (in chronological order). These 7 horses were automatic Hall of Famers and truly great horses that can rightfully be compared with the best ever. A small step below are Slew O' Gold, Precisionist, Best Pal, AP Indy, Silver Charm, Tiznow, Ghostzapper, Invasor, Lava Man, Curlin. Others post 90':Criminal Type,Gentlemen,Formal Gold,Free House,Point Given,Smarty,Alex,Barbaro, etc.

  • Clearly you didn't watch the 2004 Breeders Cup Classic or the 2005 Met' Mile!! With the exception of Easy Goer none of the other named horses at their best could beat Ghostzapper at his best! The only reason I agree with Easy Goer is because that 1:32.2 still frightens me to this day! He simply could have ran 1:31 and change if he wanted. That performance told me that he was capable of beating anybody at their best!

  • Ghostzapper Ive watched every breeders cup race event ever, I have them all on tape or DVD, yes I did see the 05 Met Mile also, and I believe that a healthy zapper is a dominant great racehorse, but Alysheba, Forego and many others were just a good and could give zapper a run for his money...Alysheba did run 1:58 at the classic distance......these horses are fully capable of beat zapper any given day.

  • Ghostzapper holds the fastest time for this race with 1:59 flat Love him!

  • I heard he bled a little in this race, anyone know anything about that?

  • i would agree with that..easy goer was pure brilliance along with longevity and consistency all rolled into one package-a true super freak, easy goer and sunday silence...ghostzapper, i just wish he ran more

  • easy goer-pure brilliance, longevity and consistency all combined in one.and one of the greatest 3yo campaigns ever while beating older horses 4 times.easy goer-still the fastest beyer ever in a triple crown race-a 126, still the fastest beyer for a 2yo-a 116, still the fastest beyer ever in a derby prep race along with bellamy road- 120,he and ss both a 124 in the bcup classic, his travers a 125,his whitney 120+,his woodward and jlcub also 120+.fastest mile ever by a 3yo,only secr. faster belmont
