  • Why not use photoshop to create the HDR image?

  • @guitarist938 Photoshop was never made for HDR photo work...it now has a fake HDR type filter for one single exposure Jpeg image however it really doesn't do a great job.

Photomatix was made to work with more than one image and blend them all into one image to create some great effects in the end without stressing the photo too much.

  • @SonicOrbStudios- I too like Photomatix but PS and Bridge do allow proper combining of multiple images and fairly good control over them. In Bridge if you go to "Tools", down to "Photoshop", then "Merge to HDR Pro".

Great tutorial and I generall do prefer Photomatix.

    Cheers

  • Thank you for sharing this.

    I am sold on HDR.

  • Can you not jus take 1 photo in RAW and then use photoshop to make 3 dif exposers ?

  • @iJsturgess on the StuckInCustoms website the tutorial goes over using one RAW file to make an HDR with Photomatix and you could even skip photoshop at that point if needed. This is explained towards the end of the free HDR tutorial on Trey's website.

  • @iJsturgess actually you can, but its just too much stress on the data. and ALOT of manual work. Its better to take 3 photos for quality.

  • Great video. I was wondering. I just have a 10MP Digital camera and cant take multiple shots with different exposure settings. Could I take one picture and make 2 different copies of it with different exposure settings in photoshop and then load those into photo matix ?

  • @DubzDesignz You could try it but I doubt it will come out well.
