I've been playing guitar for a while now, and I can generally do bends fine. But recently I noticed that bends are really tough around the higher frets - More specifically around the 22nd and 24th frets. =/
The notes seem to die out and I find vibrato almost impossible up there as the other strings obstruct and slide under my finger making it sound like an awful chord...
Could you maybe make a lesson on how to bend on the higher frets?
Thank you alot. I recently noticed I was bending wrong and this helped straightend things out. :D Also thanks for showing how to wrist moves, I wasn't able to find that in alot of videos. Good job and thanks.
Thanks for the lesson on guitar bends. I am really new at this after not picking up a guitar in over 30 years. I have been struggling with getting those bends to sound right, but I am using an acoustic guitar and appreciate the info. I can see I will need an electric! Thanks again.
OH yes, bends can be very tough on the fingers in the beginning, especially on acoustic. However, even if you learn the technique on the electric you can easily move it to the acoustic, it will just take a lot longer to master it if starting on acoustic. And no matter what you do you will never be able to do all the bends you can do on an electric with an acoustic. Its just the nature of the instrument. :) Thanks a ton for watching!! :)
That sounds like a really good idea. The lesson could be on pre-bending and nashville pedal steel type bends and stuff like that. I will get to work on it and have it up very soon. Thanks for the idea!! Carl...
With you explain things, you make me feel normal. You've been confront to the same difficulties as mine. Your lessons are perfect. The first finger on the upper chord, that's what I was doing wrong. When I was releasing the bend it has the tendencies to buzz. thanks alot
Bends and Slides are a very important thing that I am trying to get down well!! Thanks so much for this invaluable lesson! It is certainly a lot harder to do bends than vibrato!! lol. I really do appreciate you and you are an incredible teacher! "Play until your fingers bleed" haha, I've been there!
lol. You have the exact same guitar as me.

or to make bending on an acoustic easier, simply tune down to Eb :D

can't you just mute the G string with your right hand, and then you wouldnt have to only use 2 fingers on the bend?
