  • This 2006 game was a really close game. These highlights only show the Wolverine highlights. It'd have been great if Penn State would have tied it and won in overtime. Penn State played Michigan down to the wire here.

  • This game was not near as close as the score would indicate. Michigan dominated this game.

  • Actually it was closer than the score. They stuffed our running and passing game, true, but we stuffed their running and passing game, too. They won because they had sacked Morelli, Clark, and Cianciolo 7 times combined, and we only sacked Henne twice. A missed field goal early on, combined with a missed opportunity by our defense to strip Henne of the ball like the year before are why we lost. Michigan outplayed us here and deserved the win, but it really was a close game.

  • I can't believe I missed this game. My aprents forced me to go to my homecoming dance.

  • actually to ever thinks psu got screwed in 05, when lloyd car got that extra second on the clock, there actually should have been about 3-4 seconds left instead of one because thats how much extra time ran off a little bit before carr complained about it, so justice was served

  • Timeout begins when the ref hears the call. The ref heard the call at 0:28.

  • In all fairness, penn State got screwed over in both 2002 and 2005. In the 02 game, I thought that Marlin Jackson interfered with Bryant Johnson on a third down pass play, which forced PSU to settle for a fieldgoal in the first overtime of that 27-24 win for U-M. The in 2005, Jason Avant looked like he was out of bounds on the first play of that game winning drive. The rest of Michigans victories have been fair game.

  • And also those two seconds in 2005 and the call on Larry Johnson in 2002. But I completely agree, the 1997-2001 games and the 2006-2007 games were legit wins for Michigan. That would make the series 8-5 Michigan instead of 10-3 Michigan.

  • Meh. I thought the 2 seconds added on to the clock was okay. It looked pretty clear that an extra second ran off the clock after Carl Tabb stepped out of bounds.

The last two games have been called fairly by the refs. I hope that continues in 2008. BTW Mvillani, i enver asked you what you predict the exact score of the Michigan-PSU game is gonig to be. I know you said PSU will win, but you didn't predict a score. i say it will be 24-21 Michigan

  • I think it'll be a lot like the Penn State vs Iowa game last year, but the score might be different. Before thinking it over, I gave crazy predictions like 45-0, 45-25, and 31-0 at halftime. But in the past couple weeks, looking at both teams, I think the score and the way the game plays out will be a lot like the Iowa game. 27-7 is my current prediction.

  • "27-7 is my current prediction."

i like you, but c'mon dude, what were you smoking this morning? I wouldn't be surprised if penn state beats us, but by 3 TD's? Now way thats going to happen, especially considering PSU lost their best defensive player for the season in Sean lee

  • To be fair, I think at one PSU touchdown will be defensive. If Penn State can't get some interceptions, then it might be more like 20-10.

Either way, I think it'll be closer than the score. I don't see Penn State even thinking of pulling their starters unless there's an injury.

  • Got the score REALLY wrong, but I got the "closer than the score" right.

  • Michigan Wins this year to. To bad Joe cant beat them. I htink Michigan will win the big ten this year. I know i might be crazy but i think they can get it together.

  • Why does this highlight not show the only touchdown drive of Penn State.

And also of course a pile of those wins are do to corruption. After the '05 win, it was reported that Lloyd Carr, took the referees err.. referines out for a very nice dinner.

  • Because it wasn't relevant to a video titled "*Michigan* highlights vs. Penn State..."

  • Yes, Penn St. has won more than once. A few years back they would have won, but a clear TD catch was not called. Thus, you get some comments that officials can be bias.

If you don't believe officials can be look no further than Oregon/Oklahoma and Oklahoma/UAB from this year. Conference officials can be bias.

  • actually PSU has beaten Michigan 3 times since joining the Big Ten, 1994, 95, and 96. FYI.

  • PSU has only beaten Michigan once since joining the Big Ten. The same year PSU went undefeated and did not win a share of the National Championship because there was a three way tie for the Pac-10 champ and they played a poor Oregon team in the Rose Bowl. (I think they would have beaten Nebraska that year)

  • Yeah, PSU got screwed that year, IMO.

  • It being Tom Osbourne's last season was another reason it wasn't a split title. But again IMO Penn St was the best team in the country that year.

  • Are you stupid? Michigan destroyed State Penn 34-8. It was total domination. Michigan was definetely the best team in the country that year and they proved that every game.

    WE OWN... PENN STATE!

  • The hex got broken last year, but you know, I gotta agree that in 1997 Michigan absolutely was the best team that year and was the third best Big Ten team of the 90s. Penn State was a good team in 1997 that many forget about until injuries decimated them in their last couple games and they lay down and let MSU walk all over them and Enis and Juvicious manage to get suspended against a Florida that Penn State should have opened a can of whoopass on that year. But yeah, UM would've killed Nebraska

  • @MVillani1985 who was 1 and 2? OSU had great seasons but always lost to michigan. Penn State was good the first couple of years they were in the big ten, but michigan dominated them the rest of the way. Michigan also went to the most rose bowls in the 90's out of any other big ten team except for wisconsin who had the same who michigan also owned.

  • I gotta say that the 1994 Nittany Lions are my #1 Big 10 team of the 90s, dominating almost every opponent they played, and were robbed of a split national title. In 1996, the Rose Bowl in my mind was the true national championship that year, because while Ohio State lost to Michigan that year, they were just phenomenal, blowing out nearly everyone else, but if you want to switch 1996 OSU and 1997 UM, I won't argue with you. It's a very close call, both teams were the stuff of legend.

  • I'm a penn state student and i give michigan props for coming into beaver stadium and winning...if u havent been there it is the loudest student section in football...if u had manningham healthy im sure you would have won by about 21...but i don't think were that bad...all of our losses have come to top 5 teams...but im excited for November 18th to see Michigan at Ohio State....its gunna be a good game....Go Buckeyes!

  • You know, I don't dislike Penn State (I think they're a decent team even this year), but am I the only person that has noticed the tendency for PSU fans to complain about the supposed Big Ten officiating conspiracy against their team? I'm surprised I haven't seen any PSU complaining about this on here yet.

  • the game i believe in 2002 when you won in overtime was the reason instant replay came to the big ten. a clear catch was made on a crucial drive that could have put penn state ahead but the officials called it out of bounds. i give credit to michigan, they have our number, but some of those games are not without controversy

  • Fair enough.

Let's see what happens this weekend ;)

  • That's because they outplayed us that year and rightfully deserved the win. Even though we lost 17-10, it was still a fun game to watch where nobody knew the outcome until the game clock ticked to 0:00.

  • #2!

  • Michigan let up on PSU if Carr would have mixed it up Maize and Blue 28-10. Mike Hart will up for the Hiesman in 07. Henne will own all QB records if he stays his Sr year.

  • did brent musburgher put this together?

  • The irony is that although I was able to get the key plays up in personal-record time (I think by within 2 hours of the final gun), I'll be really busy for the next few days and won't be able to get to the O or D highlights for a while.

  • yo you seem to be the man for michigan highlights, if you can throw up some of the defensive highlights if you can. keep up the good work. go blue

  • On top of your game like always!

  • Michigan owns Penn State...

  • "You CANNOT bring him down!"
