One way I find usefull is that you step behind your opponent with one leg so your kind of facing the opponent (So your chest is towards him, not your back). Then you lift his leg with your leg that you put behind him and go for takedown. Usually they release during it, but not always. Try it!
When someone tryies me a Nelson I do finger control, if he doesn't desist I crush their fingers [or finger, I prefer one finger, the pinky always work good], it always work... so in Limalama I learn other defenses [so in JJ and Karate]. Thanx for another point of view.
na ive just lost the seriousness of the internet and what really wanted to say not bad but i prefer my way of snapping there index fingers then smashing there face on the top of the back of my head then doing a full change over then a horse stance and last a push and then a killing blow or something
I think my favorite full nelson counter is the finger lock into a 'bow and arrow'. it's just plain nasty and all you have to do is grab the fingers and turn around, then push his chin away. Push and pull and snap go the fingers.
...Not to mention softening them up with heel kicks (Kick your own ass with your heel and it's pretty much guarenteed to nail your attacker's groin) leg rakes and a stomp or two to the instep. *evil grin*
Wow, great defenses to the full nelson and your explanation of how to properly apply the Full Nelson was very helpful. I really like the toss at the end. The pictures and filming was done very, very well. Editing and words also helped to teach. Five Stars and favorited my friend!
