@956Joeboy ok this comment was from my phone i gave up and just reinstalled ubuntu it only takes me about 25 minutes but im not fucking with compiz again and i believe this is working now im just waing for the download
Mine didnt work after apt-get install it did all this then said could not get lock /var/cache/apt/archives/lock - open (11: resourse temperarily unavalible the unable to lock directory /var/cache/apt/archieve/
I am brand new to Linux/ubuntu. I used to do command line operation a long-long time ago with apple 2 computers and windows DOS computers (a tiny bit of unix too). I can handle it, but isn't the point point of Ubuntu to have a gui? Isn't there a way to install it via the ubuntu gui? Thanks for the vid BTW :-)
For those who are long time Linux users, using the terminal is probably second nature. Before finding this video, I installed Wine through the software center GUI app. Is there any disadvantage to installing using GUI over terminal? At the moment I am assuming not.
How do you uninstall a program that was installed using Wine, and where on the disk is this folder "C:\program files", which is created by Wine while installing a program? Thanks :)
I like Ubuntu just for read my email and play games, but is ridiculous that for use some things U have to become such a little programmer... this shit sucks since always- My gradma and even me... fucking hate this shit.
i need help, when i sun add-apt-repository etc... at the end i get a processed 1 unchanged 1. and when i input instal wine1.3 i get 0upgraded 0 newly installed 0 to remove 0 not upgraded. -.- i am root, running lxde on my touchpad. and i do have an internet connection.
Ok for real dude, This is why i am not going to like or subcribe. Dont just tell us what to type. WRITE WHAT TO TYPE IN THE DESCRIPTION SO WE CANY JUST COPY AND PASTE. Youd think youd of realized that. Seriously dude. Cmon.
I have the same problem as @msonic98 I am connected to the internet. But when it finished the user agreement dialog box did not show up. "ldconfig deferred processing now taking place"
Thanks, this was quite helpful. In my terminal session I I'ot the EULA part and didn't know how to get further, but watching your tutorial provided the answer.
I'll be watching more your tutorials as I am a Ubuntu newbie.
its great, but i keep messing up and having to restart! i'm on my 4th try right now!

hey mate,
Cheers for the vid I thought I would post up the commands you used in the terminal in case anyone wanted to copy & paste them directly:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine1.3
Actually, could you add them to your comments? it makes it much easier to follow along, esp for noobs like myself!
Thanks again for your help - keep up the good work!
