I do enjoy old clips too. And I love that Beauty in this video - she's got the sexiest face I've seen since ...I can't remember! you don't see woman like that on TV anymore. It's all doll-faced, silconed, botoxed manekins nowadays.
Too bad, 'cause there's still men who appreciate the true and natural feminine beauty.
PS I can't really see how you find Dave "handsome" there. He looks goofy to me..
It is revolutionary in that Letterman still happens to be using the same template that his show invented for late night television. Perhaps you just haven't seen late night TV before 1982 to understand that Letterman entirely re-shaped the form.
Of course they do... but I'm just sayying, being a big fan of his, it seems he is just going through the motions behind his desk, often having to think or pause bc he is a bit bored, but his older self/shows (which is natural of course when you do the same thing for ages) are alot more tight.
As if he still wants to get some kind of msg or thought out.
@at1212b we each see things in our own way....I think hes just toned himself down a bit , like his idol/ Mentor Johnny Carson...he just isnt as "hungry" for a reaction nowadays.. he makes his point and the audience gets his humor
it's silly anymore

Why would Letterman be on the CBC in 1978? He wasn't that well known back then.
berezin99 2 years ago
@berezin99 Well, he was still doing a lot of stand-up back then, so he could have been coming through Canada to do a few gigs.

@bluebear1985 Now I know the full story.

Letterman's show is not rebellious or revolutionary in any way...

He's still funny for sure, but he seems to have lost that forward looking excitement of things, and a smoothness he had back then.
