used to be a pharmacist in Europe in late 70s and we used the capsaicin ointemnts and pads for artrits so it's benefits have been known in Europe for a while. It is also great for digestion and I make sure to eat at least one or two hot peppers a day along with ginger, parsley, garlic and Omega 3 oil for anti inflamatory benefits and have no joint pain at all.
