  • How do you make the perfect poached egg? I've tried a few times but never been able to get it quite right.

  • @stuck4aname Putting a little white vinegar in the water as it comes to a boil can help keep the white together. :)

  • oil is healthier than butter ?!

  • Great finesse!~

  • Hi Sorted! I just tried your BAKED CHEESECAKE RECIPE in an 9.5inch springform cake pan. I am not sure which kind of cream cheese your recipe is calling for exactly, I chose cream cheese (over cream cheese spread) and it turns out that my batter is so much more thicker than the one in your video, untill after I added the eggs it became more liquidy but not as much as yours. Also, when i poured the batter into the pan its only half way full! Whts wrong? :( hope you would still help!

  • can you try Persian food by any chance :))

    Rose @};-

  • can you do this one with a crusy fish as well? ( I like my fish mostly with that crunst ^^ )or do I have to cook the fish in a other pan so the saus wont lose the flavour?

  • @TheWolfWoman15 You could probably just bread and fry the fish in a seperate pan and lay it on top after.

  • Ben, does your gorgeous guest also have a youtube channel? ;) x

  • Barry's smile at 1:06 :P

  • Could you leave out the dairy and substitute it with something else?

  • I swear I've never said anything like this, but Barry looks quite cute eating ... which is awkward in a sense, because people are here watching £2 worth of meal portions, and I'm observing Barry eat... Haha!

  • no salt?

  • My fellow Potterheads and I would LOOOVVE to see Butterbeer get sorted.♥ [:

  • @sonzizzle Anything Harry Potter related! :D

  • @sortedfood

Do you have any recipes for Christmas for 2 meals?

  • does anyone have a idea about a dish with key ingredient water

its for school and it can not be soup

  • @jonascallens you could try a jelly? (If you take alcohol out, then you could try our jelly shots?)

  • @sortedfood thx

  • when he said £2 did anyone else feel sorry for themselves because thats quite pricey on your student budget?

  • £2 a portion! You can do beans on toast for about 40p a portion. I challenge you to do a meal that works out £1 per portion!

  • hello I am from hong kong:)

i love noodles and i was thinking if you can make more noodles dishes? :P

  • Hey Ben, if I asked you to marry me, will you? :P

  • can you make french toast ? :D

  • I'm horrible at cooking but I have to start packing a lunch for school. Any ideas about something easy that keeps well? (I've been living off of sandwiches for a while)

  • @ShuLuvsJoo Definitely, check out our Crustless Quiches or our Tupper Salads - both perfect for packed lunches

  • I really want to try this but I HATE mustard. Can I leave it out or do you have any other ideas for flavour I could add instead? :)

  • @spendiferouslochness:

What do you not like about mustard? It's not a snarky rhetorical question, I'm curious. Is it the taste of turmeric (the spice that gives mustard a kick and that yellow-ish tint)? It's related to ginger, so if you're not a huge fan of those sort of tangy-and-hot spices, then you could try another kind of mustard. With the whole grain mustard Ben used, you can get versions with varying intensity, so you could probably find one you like. :)

  • @IconoclasticParadigm No I actually like Ginger and Turmeric. I don't like Mustard Seed. I can always taste it, no matter what kind of mustard it is.

  • @spendiferouslochness

Hmmm... Well, wasabi powder and horseradish are frequently used as substitutions if somebody is allergic to mustard, but those can be WAY more potent than most mustards. There are herbal mustards that have less mustard seed in them, but I don't think you can find one entirely without. :\

  • "wasn't gonna feed you" AHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • This looks amazing, another great video. You guys have one of the best (if not the best) YouTube channels. Keep it up. ^_^

  • Make something hard like tamales or something complicated...

  • but wouldn't the fish be raw?!

  • @xx0960xx Fish cooks super quickly! No need to worry :)

  • what is student beans?

  • homemade raman? XD

  • God, I MUST stop watching your videos before going to bed!!! aaaaaaarrrr this looks SO deeeelicious!

  • would this word well with talapia fish?

  • @dblyrt2597 very well! :D

  • if only food could travel through the screen.

  • Wow....he took a big leek!

  • @hernameissamm £2 is ridiculously cheap when you think about all of the components in the dish, not all students live solely on Pringles and Coca Cola :P

  • That looks good.

  • do they sell those type of beans in the us I've never seen them? what type of beans could I substitute them for if they don't sell them in america?

  • @Kristina413 haricot or kidney would work well? Basically any bean that isn't in a sauce!

  • Where do you get your posters? Me and my flatmate LOVE them!!!

  • @alicerchalk we make them ourselves, and are hoping to be able to supply them soon!

  • 0:59 "Ben it's all stuck to the knife"...lol what a baby.

BTW £2 is a bit expensive for a student meal imo.

  • i love watching you guys cook, im just a huge picky eater, and i can never eat any of the things you guys make

  • You should do like club sandwiches with different "fillings" like fish, chicken, mabye a veggie ones etc. I would love to have one right now! Greetings from Estonia! =)

  • can you guys make short bread cookies? something fast and easy? TY :)

  • @JhLakers08 how about our "Strawberry Shortcake" recipe... make the base but shape into small cookies rather than one big round.

  • this looks so good i will have to try this very soon! :)

  • Could you add pasta to this dish? It looks yummy!

  • can you use haddock?

  • @xxiloveitallxx Haddock would be lovely, especially if it's smoked?

  • @sortedfood yep, smoked undyed, it was gorgeous, the mustard really works well :)

  • Baz is so skilled at open that can of beans such confidence :P and ben you scared me when you looked at the camera while cutting i worried for your finger, looks yum

  • cool beans!

  • i'm not a fan of fish but this looks so delicious i might just do it! and i'm a student so cheap yummy food is a win win situation! :D

  • Do you guys have a recipe for chili? The cold weather is coming!

  • @wcdevil0 Chilli is definitely on our list, so I'm sure it won't be long ;-)

  • Thanks for the vid!:))

  • Can you use something instead if broccoli? :S

  • I feel like potatoes would be good in there too...

  • "you always get the stinky bits" That should be on a shirt

  • I hate fish, but I watched it anyway for the banterrrr ;)

  • I was just wondering, how do you come up with your recipies? Do you crete them from scratch, make your own modifications to other recipies or just use recipies from other sources?

  • @Dalekbuster Some of them are ideas from scratch... I believe this one was... other times I take favourites from elsewhere and then tweak them in some way to give them a SORTED twist (make them easier, cheaper, more sharable or just a bit quirky)

  • @sortedfood Ahh, that's interesting, thanks for the reply :)

  • Oh and where do you buy the 'Subscribe' pillow???

  • Don't leek your special recipes!!!!! :D (Thumbs up if you get it?!)

  • I have the same colander as you!!!, oh good times...

  • Wheres Jamie??????!!!!

  • @eleashia909

I always miss him when he's not there. What a great fellow!

  • Do you write these recipies yourselves? :)

  • I don't know if there is a ask the chef about this but how do you get the smell of garlic off your hands. I tried using garlic once and i could smell it on my hands after i washed them, it drove me mad.

  • @01melissa01Ann01 one way is using cold water (stops the smell "cooking" on to your fingers), with soap...or there is a metal soap that sometimes helps

  • @01melissa01Ann01 grab a lemon/lime and wash your hands with some of that acidic juice before washing it off. that usually works for me :)

  • @01melissa01Ann01 you run your hands under warm water, then rub it on stainless steel. it really works! :-)

  • @01melissa01Ann01 ik u didnt ask me but rubbing a metal spoon on the tips of your fingers works quite well

  • @01melissa01Ann01 (sometimes) It works w/ lemon juice! but do not expose ur hands to the sun after that ;)

  • @01melissa01Ann01

I've had that problem a lot and found that rubbing salt or baking soda on your hands for a minute or two and rinsing thoroughly helps. Afterwards, you can wash up with a scented soap if you want to be extra careful. :) Hope that helps!

  • who else is wondering what Bafomets said?

  • @lettilu They said that the video didn't have any dislikes, so they disliked it (notice the solo dislike at the top) even though they also said that the video was cool. So yeah. Unhelpful people are unhelpful.

  • Poach in the pan like a pro lol gosh I love you guys :)

  • I made some and it's GORGEOUS! Thank you guys! Could you try something with squid?

  • @HomelessDragons Glad you liked it! Head to our website and search for squid... there is one recipe so far... more to come in the New Year I'm sure! :D

  • @Runsiplue They have clotted cream at Cost Plus World Markets and sometimes in the international section at bigger grocery stores!

  • they need a studentbeans in the U.S.

  • I don't know why I'm watching this. I'm allergic to fish.

  • I really don't like leeks, what could I use instead? =)

  • AWESOME dish. I'm long out of university but this will be a staple for me too, I'm still on a student-sized budget! Yummy!

  • Can you show us pad thai? :)

  • "Wasn't going to feed you, but okay". Haha, brilliant!

Love you, Ben- you're so funny without meaning to be. :L

Also, that guy looks kinda like Simon Tam from Firefly. Anyone? No? Oh, okay.

  • So, i'm in the U.S. and we don't have double(/clotted) cream here.

    What can I use instead?

  • @Runsiplue It's called heavy cream in the States...same ingredient!

  • @Runsiplue Heavy cream is the same thing as double cream, or try full fat cream?

  • @Runsiplue ya use heavy cream almost the same and actually a little healthier

  • @Runsiplue well u r a one amircan nfsyah XD

  • @Runsiplue Yeah it's just heavy cream here, haha.
