  • BFD Eco works, had it since July 2011 went back in the studio and re recorded the drums use the BFD Eco and Akai MPD 26.The whole CD came out fantastic.Note:Ido Smooth Jazz Guitar and a pro drummer turned me on to this program,Thanks JC.

  • gareth green is my lecturer at uni, he is a fantastic teacher and has so much knowledge, so much more than this video can show.

  • What kind of speakers does he have in the studio?

  • @Dantoeman ProAc 100 (the brown ones) and Yamaha NS-10 (the ones with the white cones).

  • I can't play drums but I use BFD2 in my music videos. It works.

  • OCDP! Yeah!!!

  • hey mate, how many presets does the bfd2 have?i have a td9sx vdrums,is it possible to transfer the programs and presets of the bfd2 to the td9 module,so you can use it on live and if its possible how to do it?cheers.

  • nope, but you can just take your laptop setup for live playing xD

  • well u ave to appreciate the hard work though

  • Bfd.. Love the new version.. As for bugs.. Hmmm haven't found any .. New rooms etc are simply great....

  • I wasted enough time with you.

    Have a good life!

    Next.

  • No, actually it wasn't funny at all. I assume it must be

easier to get help if you work for them. I followed

their instructions down to very detail several times,

including but not limited to re-installing BFD. Finally

me and a friend who's also an expert in IT figured

out a way around it. I only wish I had written it all down. Don't get me wrong, their samples are great!

The software is buggy and the service sucks!

    Got me researching for others...

  • Sucks to be you dude. I don't work for them and have had very little trouble from the program. Even better once I got on to an imac and dropped the piece of sh.t that windows is. I'm no computer expert let alone IT. No bugs and good service especially through the forum. If you have a licensed copy you'll get answers there nearly instantly.

  • FYI: For anyone reading this, I've had major problems installing their BFD XFL package. It did not like BFD2,

I tried contacting their tech support which is 99% non existent!

  • Funny, I have the Deluxe pack and it works perfectly with BFD2. Did you install it properly? In a separate folder and then "point" BFD2 to it? And I've had no trouble what so ever getting help. Are you registered on their forum?

  • kerg

  • The microphones alone are probably worth more than my house.

  • got enough mics on those bass drums?

    haha

  • in fact roger taylor (duran duran) were sorrounded by 26 mics for the orginal for the special drum sound on Power Stations Some Like Hot. So this nothing ;-)

  • haha

but were there 5 mics on the bass drum alone?

  • well yeah, the whole point of multiple Mics allocations is that FXpansion's BFD2 is going to have a section in the VST plugin were one can choose the different "Mic evironment setups" for each drum kit as well

so that's why this BFD2 rig has a 50GB drum arsenal to download into your sweet glossy laptops and desktops! hahaha

  • I think Tony Thompson was the drummer in the Powerstation, Roger was with Arcadia with LeBon & Rhodes.

  • Yes, but the the very sound thatt makes it, was Roger on the pipes on additional drums. They actually hired roger for making the session. The story is he went to NY in 5 days to make the pipedrum sound. But yes it was Tony on drums.

  • Oh ok thanks for that Kluran, an intersesting story, u r from Denmark friend, im from Australia so g'day to you :)

Roger is a very good tight drummer, underrated i feel.

  • "we have a bug in bfd2" haha lol)))

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahha

    nice :)

  • Great vid! thanx for the upload :D

  • do you need an electronic drum kit to make the beats or can you program them on the computer?

  • You can program them with any midi sequencer. BFD2 has a built-in editor, too.

  • I felt I couldn't get the best quality sound until I turned down the size or weight knob in the grooves section. The cymbals are not as good as in Superior Drums 2, but everything else is.

  • i love using BFD2 but watching this video is depressing in the sense that making of BFD2 seems tortuous!!! omg

  • Hey, if these samples are recorded with native reverb of the studio, does that mean the reverb is cut whenever the player closes the hi-hat and all open-hat samples are stopped?

  • It use like a knew room technology becouse you can control every mic in the mix just like if you were doin for real and change the positions of the ambient room and OH mics (left to right and backwards to forward) without cuting any sample, i got to say that is freaking amazing...first time I use it i couldnt believe what I was hering man try it and try it and try it

  • Amazing, intelligent. informative video. This is what YouTube should be more about....

  • awsome!

    the fat dude rules!

    :)

realy good to live in times where such amazing people with amazing ideas are around

  • cool man, thats why acustic drums rule!! electronic drums are ruining real musicianship. "drummers" what have you recorder that i can check out? i like your style of recording, i'm same way.
