Lol, A day after I posted that comment I got a new amp. And you know whats better than a simulated line 6 amp in record? A nice line 6 amp in real life. :]
Reason is the only software that I've used that has been 100% stable. Don't care about Vst's, I'm a guitar player and can get 100 different tones just by turning some knobs, so I don't need 10,000 sounds to make a good song. Reason is stocked with sounds and effects so you can make endless music. Kudos to Propellerheads!
still all music u listen to has probably been done with vsts or hardware, not reason. airbase for instance started with reason, but switched pretty quickly to ableton live to make his tracks, and all his released tracks are produced in that sequencer. not saying vsts are better it's bullshit to say that reason is better than vsts. it's just different and depends on what you think is nicer to work with. it's just like there's no such thing as the "best" synth, but u can have a favourite one.
People that tell other people what they need are very shortsighted. One person's garbage is another's treasure. VST, Audio units, RTAS, MAS all have their places in the audio spectrum. It is up to good programmers to get them communicating. Use your tool of choice if you can whatever it is.
will reasons ever integrate and use vst. if reason's ever vst plug-in's it would have a soundbank like logic pro. will this new "RECORD" program use vst? i hope so. and will reason 4 updates includes a patch so that it can receive vst support???
I HOPE propellerheads is read this. because i want reason to have a VST soundbank like logic
@pandapandamadness: music is about sounding good, not about how many times the program crashed before it was done :P not saying that reason doesnt sound good tho i just dont like feeling limited. and if u rewire like u suggest then the crashing problem starts again.
Exactly, and that's why Record is awesome, because it's a daw that loads reason projects and modules natively and doesn't crash. Also, workflow is super important, if something crashes every 10 minutes you're getting off track.
Im a Reason user myself , and this doesnt look particalurly exciting for me to be honest. Really, a Reason 4 upgrade would have been better, they could have integrated all the features of this into the upgrade, and support for vst would have been good aswell...
guys got some q's

if so does that mean i can rec vocals direct lets say using my mbox pro and microkorg sounds into record?

Won't happen. Ever thought about why Reason never crash? If you're using Logic you can just rewire 'em though..
PANDAPANDAMADNESS 2 years ago
Never say never... the same kinds of statements were made about audio in Reason. Record = codename, Reason 5.
Fattraxx2 2 years ago
Ehm, no, Reason 5 is being announced in 3 months..

Ehm, yes... You can't see the forest for the trees!
