I think John Dillinger was a admired so much cause he was bad boy rebel that most people wouldn't dare to be! ;p Dillinger wasn't all that bad ;p yes he did rob banks but wasn't a killer.. some people were thrilled when they chosen as hostages he took care of them treated them like his homeboys he was a celebrity LOL when I look at old pix of him I just laugh he didn't give a fuck! I dont see a mosterous killer! I loved how johnny Depp played him! im sure Dillenger would of been proud! IMO

Well actually, most people back then thought he was a hero because he and his gang did everything to survive through the Great Depression. They looked up to that, you could say.

I think John Dillinger was a facinating character but he wasn't a good person. Many people in the Great Depression had nothing but not all of them went and robbed banks. Dillinger was an arrogant criminal with strong charisma. I think he is the only gangster to be truly facinating but he is still not exactly an American hero. People like Melvin Purvis, Martin Luther King, George Washington are true heros in America.

Dillinger was a hero, an inspiring rebel, he still is to this very day, he was barely a dangerous person, he is definetly number 1 on my top heroes list.
