i actually do a huge honor roll irl for all my epic units

such as a chick who single handedly took down a terror ship that crashed or my cowardly russian commander who got to his position by hiding in the skyranger for 25 missions and scoring three kills

all heroic all commended, fighting 'til the end or snap shotted by an alien controlled ally

@Gight77 I had an epic soldier on one playthrough, Muton supply ship vs. 12 personal aromoured w/ Laser Rifles. Yep. 9 Dead, 1 Injured.

Killed 9 enemies after grabbing an alien's Heavy Plasma.

Anyway, is there an equivalent to the Auto Cannon and Heavy Cannon with HE shells in TftD? I wanna see you decimate the landscape next time (and really, they are the deadliest weapons you can get til plasma)

A tip, the ammunition for the heavy cannon is heavier than the cannon itself, so if you make sure to carry no more than one extra clip with the cannon, the user will get all their time units.

God. Started Terror back up. I still suck at it. How it can be so blisteringly difficult on Beginner is beyond me. The AI is better, the terror mission maps are hideous, and the ship missions... oh god, the ship missions. LOBSTERMEN!

Cereally, Kiko. I don't care what difficulty you play the game on. You've gotta show us a beginning-to-end run through TFTD.

I want to see the inside of a base. They keep blaster bombing me to the stone age before I get NEAR the doors. :(

The original XCOM had a bug that made every difficulty Beginner, provoking complaints at it being too easy. The devs didn't realise it was a bug, so the sequel had a bug where every difficulty is Superhuman.

*chuckle* Scary thing? You only killed three of those Gillemn and one of the Deep Ones you shot - the rest were just unconscious..and probably going to wake up later. Gotta love TFTD - your accuracy is worse, the enemies are tougher, and your guns are all weaker. Plus the "fun" of Terror missions with only one viable heavy weapons system, and a research tree that has left me sans the first armor upgrade into July...good luck, man!

I wish I could do a LP from x-com3, but my EMU1212m doesn't like the idea of recording any kind of sound whatsoever, with fraps or ZD soft recorder.

If this is a solution :

DOSBox has it's own recording capability (ZMBV Video + PCM Audio in .AVI file in the 'capture' folder set in DOSBox.conf) : Ctrl-Alt-F5 to start recording / stop recording

You can record your micro with Audacity at the same time.

You'll have to re-encode DOSBox' huge AVI file (and the mic recording) together.

I would suggest to make a stereo project in Audacity, put the DOSBox audio (you can copy it to mono with VirtualDub) on the left, DOSBox' audio on the right
