  • this kid STILL got the job after TOTALLY being caught sleeping on the job... the FIRST DAY!?

  • FUCK THAT N64 YEAH BABY YEAH

  • After the guy cleaned the system and the game the dad should of said "no, i don't want that"

  • It's all that upsell shit that makes me not want to go to stores. By this magazine, subscribe to that, purchase this, check out that. Enough.

  • I never used a cleaning kit for my cartridge based games. All I did was spray a little Windex (ONLY A LITTLE) on a couple of q-tips...then just rub gently on the contacts...dirt and grime come RIGHT off!

  • @RedneckYachtClubber But see, thats actual cleaning. The cleaning kit is just a piece of plastic, nothing else.

  • It's so wrong that I just watched the whole thing.

  • lol cleaning a game every time you play it..that's just a way for funcoland to have you waste their cleaning solution faster so they can sell you more.

  • Screw cleaning your games with all that fancy stuff. Get the end of your shirt, use some spit-shine and there you go.

  • Why is the second controller plugged into controller port 3?

  • Sounds just like a true gamestop employee. Trying to shell useless shit the customer doesnt want

  • oh god I have one of these, now I know why.

  • I miss Funcoland fuck Gamestop!

  • @ARGX47 It was a merger, they basically operate the same way they always have, if you don't like gamestop i'm sure any remaining mom and pop video game shops in the area would love to take your business.

  • @millakilla Play N Trade!

  • when he said that you should clean the game very time you take it out, I dont agree with that. I have a N64 and Ive never used a game cleaning periferal.

Sad that Funcoland went out of business and got transformed to Gamestop :(.

  • I really miss the 90's... :-(

  • The cleaner was useless and I still have a working n64 for the past 14 years

  • @gvi341984

Cleaner wasn't useless. All cart-based systems needed their contacts cleaned occasionally. He cleans it incorrectly here, by not drying it, but depending on where you stored your games, you may or may not have noticed a difference if you didn't clean them.

  • This is how I train all my employees- Funcoland manager

God all my workers are insane becuase of that training video- Gamestop Manager

  • this is how i lean stuff too...I fall asleep and go into a game world where I learn,,,,Easy

  • you CLEAN that n64 baby.

  • This maybe a little wierd but I'd still rather go there than game stop

  • I've had my Nintendo 64 and games for it for about 13 years now. Haven't cleaned them once. Just blew into them and.if I did clean, it was with damp qtips. Haven't ever had a problem

  • Comment removed

  • Who the hell buys game cleaners anyways? For my Genesis all I need are a couple of lightly damp q-tips, canned air, and a light towel for drying...

  • I don't see a Sega Saturn....Ooooh that pisses me off.

  • @whoohaaXL Probably because the only good Saturn games were the import ones. It would've been cool if Funcoland sold import games for Saturn and Playstation and showed you how to play them.

  • This is BS. I still own my N64 to this day. Never bought a cleaner for it and it works just fine as it did in 1994. Its amazing that they actually tell the salespeople to push SPAM on folks who don't need any of this stuff in order of squeezing an extra dollar out of them. Its bad business and bad advice. He's already buying the game and controller .. pushing the cleaning stuff makes you come off as a con man. Its really bad business. Oh wait they were bought out.. wonder why.

  • @RogersRoyal Totally agree, once someones buying stuff already I'd never push more on 'em then.

  • "Now get the fuck out there and sell some games hahahaha"

  • lol too perfect, everything he offers they buy

  • This video is 1998 right? At the very beginning you can see the future, the Dreamcast logo he jumps into. hahhah!

  • Asian women with nice eyes ****lushfmlk.info****

  • u gotta fuck the n64 with the cleaning kit.

  • Cleaning kit? wtf all you need is a cotton swab

  • i wish i could go back to these days and get a job here i know to much about the old systems

  • lol at the game informer subscription trying to act like how it was back in the day for us with no internet and had to get nintendo power. there def was internet when this video was made

  • most epic training video ever

  • Cruisin' USA was so much fun haha I remember first playing it in the arcade around 1996/97. However, Adam stated that it was "one of the hottest new games". If this video was made in 1998, the game wasn't new haha it was originally released in the arcades in 1994 and ported to the N64 in 1996.

  • That cleaning kit just had sex with the N64 console. Ewwwwww.....

Side note - I've NEVER cleaned any of my systems or games and have never had an issue.

  • Its a shame that Game Stop doesn't operate like Funcoland, look, they have NESs, SNES games, N64, PS1... They had the old AND the new. Nowadays its hard to even find a good PS2 game at gamestop

  • This video should be a porno. Minus the semi-retarded son.

  • @ 3:42

The guy tries so hard not to laugh at the cheesy video he just had to act in.

  • The son has downs. And a Mariners hat....

  • Did he just jump through the Dreamcast logo

  • @jackedsamurai772 it couldent be wasent out yet but still its odd of its so alike each other....

  • Be a good employee like Adam, or be trapped in a horrific Hellscape for all eternity.

  • Cleaning your games too much can screw them up, as far as cartridge based games go as long as you take good care of them you have nothing to worry about. i have atleast 500 cartridge based games and i've NEVER had one just stop working, some are a little stubborn but i can always get them to work.

  • What the hell? I've had my Sega Genesis for TWENTY ONE years without ever having to clean it or the games once and they run perfectly.

  • @amadeusyaoi

But you know, those cleaning devices are just to sell MOAR monies and jew gold

If they would actually be essential, don't you think Sony and nintendo would mass produce all kind of ridicilous cleaning devices with the pictures of Mario sucking Luigis weener

  • @amadeusyaoi Plus you can do the cleaning with an air compressor for the system, and rubbing alcohol on a q-tip for the cartridges.

  • i wish i was born in the 80s the older gamestop seems cooler and appears to not rip you off. they have better deals than the newer corrupt gamestop

  • @Tdak1128 That was the gaming culture of 1980/90's. Less gamers meant less business, and that meant less corporate interest. With less corporate interest, it was much more appreciative of the consumer (just look at the game Shannara).

It could be said that gaming is killing gaming, really. :(

  • it was all a dream...OR WAS IT

  • funcoland....oh those were the days

  • All I ever did to my N64, Ps1, and Saturn was the same thing, can of air and a moist (not wet) washcloth. I do it with my games and systems now and my 360 is running smooth.

  • "Move it gently, in and out...clean it off"

  • @GreatPotentialSitcom

    thats what she said

  • wow i remember going there

  • that guys son looks like he might be "Special"

  • If you read the description you can see this was made in 198 and was uploaded IN 2010.

  • Fucking piece of shit cleaner. They can keep their damn cleaners and wipe their ass with it

  • @R0ckerGam3r

It obviously says it's a 1998 training video. Funcoland has been debunked for decades.

  • @SecureBurgerTown

I don't think you mean 'debunked' I think you mean 'defunct'. Totally different word and meaning. But yes 'funcoland' isn't around anymore.

  • I wonder how many clueless parents and anal retentive kids actually ended up cleaning their games every goddamn time they play...

  • @SoSado Hahaha I didn't clean mine once and it ran just fine.

  • That was amazing!

  • Clean the game... every time you play?? -_-

Anyone else notice when he cleans the game cartridge he does it backwards? He scrubs the inside of the plastic case instead of the copper contacts.

  • "It is our culture to be honest".

"You should clean your games just about every time you play them".

    DOES NOT COMPUTE

  • @DocFunky How do you clean Steam games?

  • @DocFunky Actually, a lot of people would recommend cleaning the game contacts every single time, to keep the 72 pin connector clean. It's the dirt on the games that gets in there and makes it dirty. Clean the games every time, and your system is going to work longer and better.

  • why is one controller in port #1 and the other in #3?

  • i've had my N64 for like 10 years, never cleaned it apart from blowing inside and on the cartridge..works like a dream

  • wait wait... 5 issue subcription for $9.98, and a 12 issue (year) is $19.98... WTF is this?!?!?!

  • @JaggerBacardi if that's confusing, you're an idiot

  • clearly you have no concept of sarcasm or didn't get the joke. And I'm the idiot here huh?! Next time I'll put in in more simple words so your tiny brain can comprehend it.

  • @JaggerBacardi Ouch

  • @JaggerBacardi Whats so hard to understand about that?

Buying in bulk always gives you a discount.. in this case.. its 1 extra magazine per year.

  • Talk about BS lol. I still have NES/SNES/n64 and GB cartridges and i used the good old "blow on it" method.

  • Funcoland is a terrible name for a store.

  • G.A.M.E.S., more like:

    M. Make everyone feel uncomfortable by your employee's lack of social skills

    E. Engender hatred from all your customers by offering ridiculously low trade values.

    A. Affect the buying habits of your customers by offering cheaper pre-played games that don't support the original developers.

    N. Never forget that selling more is the key to everything.

  • Haha, we're here to help you get better performance out of your games. He means to sell you useless shit like cleaners and crappy 3rd party controllers.

  • @PROTENON

Yeah you can do the same thing by using alchol and a Q tip

  • Comment removed

  • lol at the cleaner. My N64's still going strong after practically 14 years without any such crap. Same with the games.

Sure, still need to give them a quick blow every now and then but I'd say that and some good care has done them a lot more good than these products would have.

  • Mine too, I have a launch N64 with like 50 games, no cleaner or BS like that and they work perfectly.

  • PROTIP: Don't blow into your carts. Breath = moisture; Moisture on contacts = Corrosion which is the problem

  • @Kowbrainz

Who doesnt need a quick blow now and then

  • CLEANERS LOL!

  • LMAO at his "son", look at the mug on that kid

  • Again....the fuck?
