SPARKY, I HAVE A 2003 CHEVY SILVERADO AND I'VE REPLACED THE RESISTOR BUT I ONLY HAVE POWER GOING TO THE RED WIRE INTO THE RESISTOR WIRING HARNESS. WHERE DO I START LOOKING BEFORE THE RESISTOR? ANY IDEAS? I SURE AM GETTING AN EDUCATION ON HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS ANYWAY!
@WSZOSZOREK Check the HVAC fuses in the driver's side interior fuse box. Make sure it is good and that there is power at the fuse with the key on. If that is okay, you will need to check the blower switch and harness connector at the rear of the a/c control head. If there is no power at the fuse you will need to check the ignition switch. I did a video about that problem on a Trailblazer or Envoy. No Blower and ABS light on.
Sparky...I have a 2005 LT3 Silverado with dual electronic climate control. No sign of any problem until today when I got the truck out of the garage where it has been sitting for a week. No air pushed from the blower at all. Fuse is ok and I checked the wiring under the resistor and it looks just fine. A/C compressor kicks on so it's in the blower or the climate control module. I think. Suggestions?
@EricStaysGold Please see my video about this type of system "2005 Tahoe Blower Not working". There has been a change to the replacement part. Please see the information at my site. It is titled "2003 GMC Yukon Blower Erratic / Not Working" It was published on July 13, 2011. If you do not have the address, just google Sparkys-Answers.
Ok blower resistor is in I have control to fan now on all levels. BUT I have no lights on control panel and I can not control were the air comes out or if it's hot or cold a/c. It only blows hot air out of the face vents. I checked every fuse in cab and under hood that I can see has anything to do with this system
@ffemtrmcneil Try a recalibration first. Disconnect the battery for 1 minute. Reconnect the battery. Start the engine. DO NOT TOUCH the a/c controls. Let the engine run for 4 minutes. Turn the ignition off for at least 10 seconds. No more than 30 seconds. Restart the engine and check a/c operation.
@ffemtrmcneil Start by checking your fuses. The HVAC fuse in the interior fuse box may have blown when the resistor and harness connector melted. If that fuse blows you will loose all ignition power to the a/c system.
@twistr0405 It could be blown but it is more likely that the terminal in the red wire is burnt or the high blower relay within the blower resistor is faulty. Possibly both.
@warriordragon03 It is pretty simple. The BLWR fuse in the underhood fuse box is blown. Depending on the year model of your truck it could be a 30 amp or a 40 amp fuse. If you were to check, you will find no power supply on terminal "G" of the seven wire harness connector.
great info here. i work at a dealer and have heard about this and have sold the repair but have never actually done one myself, yet. as for the heat shrink, i always like to use the kind with the glue in it, in case its in the path of moisture.
@kenman1717 Thanks for the comment. I agree with your preference for heat shrink tubing, that has a sealer built in. That is all that I use, and it is supplied with the 4180 harness connector kit from The Electric Connection.

Sparky, my speed 5 quit working. Do I need to do all of this, or is it as simple as the BLWR fuse in the underhood fuse box (@warriordragon03)
