he did a concert at the Senator Theater in Baltimore town many years ago...and truthfully, it was fucked up, and i'm a die-hard fan...but man that was a tough one to take...then some douche says to me, 'Oh, i guess you're pissed cause you don't know his music'...fuck off, i know and respect his music, this was just a trashed show....
Man, I love this... I can just imagine all the countrified folk down in Austin expecting one of his country-type songs a la 'Sweet Carolina' or 'A Kiss Before I go'; and looking at this performance going 'WTF?'. Instead he comes out swinging, with straight up, balls out renditions of "Nuclear' and "To Be Young (is to be sad)' . And high or not, man, he delivers! Awesome....
Whatever...he's original; he has huge talent; and he shows up and puts on a unique performance every time. If it doesn't sound or "look" like his recorded version, then you don't get the beauty of live performance and individuality. Stay home and listen to your CDs. Every Elliott Smith show was incredible because it was Elliott; deal with Ryan as Ryan. He can write, sing, and play.
well then fuck you and fuck your lack of humor. and fuck your inability to decifer an obvious dig at the petty outrage towards a musician who got high before he performed.
jonas brothers are not humorous- they're ridiculous and pathetic. Besides, the performance is amazing despite the influence of drugs. who gives a fuck? its just a bril performance so just piss off.
piss off yourself. And I don't give a fuck either which you would realize if you bothered to scroll down the page and read my comment from 10 months ago.
god who gives a fuck if he's high, drunk, just got screwed - whatever. every one of his performances is unique, like him. who ever said being on perfect pitch was interesting? people are such dumb sheep on the whole.
This is where the summer ends In a flash of pure destruction, no one wins Go nuclear. Nuclear. The violets in my eyelids goin' red Sentimental geek Shut up and go to sleep The calm, the beach and the remains Of the bathing suits and Porsches all in flames Go nuclear. Nuclear. When I saw her and the Yankees lost to the Braves Sentimental geek Shut up and go to sleep Give me an answer
One of his awesome tunes and lyrics, thanks for posting... his voice sounds tired and shot though, he's avoiding some of the higher notes he usually takes... end of the night, maybe?

dustingraduate 2 years ago
then why don't you just listen and shut up yourself? you obviously don't have better things to do...

Not only drunk. He's total high. At that time he was high every moment in his live. Now his sobber.
antifafubel 2 years ago
he is so on drugs here, its pretty bad by his own usual standards
vAmpyr616 2 years ago
Pretty bad what?
Sounds to me like he's right on pitch, right on time with just enough grit to make it emotional.

its dull man, its not really that emotional grit, love is hell has that. this performance is just very lacklustre and uninspired
vAmpyr616 2 years ago
Yeah, but think about it, he sounds that good when he's high. It clearly means he sounds four hundred thousand times better sober and clean! :)

I don't think he plays many of the Demolition songs live anymore--I imagine it hurts to do it.
lilybarat 3 years ago
He does a couple tunes from those days occasionally. Desire was in the setlist not too long ago.
Mikemaniax 3 years ago
He played Hallelujah when I saw him, too. Surprised me.

Nearly always plays Dear Chicago. Well...a lot.

There are definitely a couple, but most of them he avoids. I would, too.
