the water dumps from the planter into the top of the resivor and gets pumped from the bottom of the resivor into the planter its like a circle. then when the pum shuts off gravity drains the water back through the pump tube like soda drains down your staw when you stop sucking. as long as the tank is below the planter it will always drain

@lepelldaniel wrong because the pressure is greater in the holding tank than it is in the ambient air the basin will never drain out. water will always flow through and never supply oxygen to the roots like he states cause the inlet hose and outlet from the pump are at the same level causing double pressure. that basin will still flood. learn how water works in small spaces before opening your mouth

the draining nozzles should never be placed at the bottom of the reservoir. thats what causes flooding. Keep in mind if the water in the reservoir is higher than the level of the hole thats cut into it, air pressure will push it up into the big tray. if it was placed like the pumps nozzles it would simply use gravity to let it drip back in. keep in mind gravity affects both the water in the tray as well has the water in the resevoir, you dont want them to cancel eachother out

@MrMaplessProductions i just said the exact same thing. the laws of gravity Vs. pressure. 10 gallons of water weighs about 20 pounds if not more. and the weight of the water in the basin are lower thusly going to cause backflow and flood your shit the first time that pump kicks on. also he put the ballast in the flowering room which is a really bad idea. keep your power seperate from your room. thats a golden rule.

@sartijom Sparkling water. soda water. You can get a gallon jug, fill it hlaf way or a little more with luke warm water, add a packet of yeast, and 4th cup of sugar and mix it up. The yeast eating the sugar will create Co2. Set a couple in the room and it will supply your plants. Simply add more sugar after a week or so. Yeast lives for a while so you shouldn't have to add more for a while.

@tbizle9 hydroponics is a hobby, after lights and nutrients for both vegatative and flower room plus all the other stuff expect to spend over a G. It takes at least two month for a plant to mature then 8 to 12 weeks to flower. By having a mother room or doner plants you no longer have to waite the two months to mature the plants before you flower them. The reason is because a "clone" takes on the age and maturity of the mother or doner plant.

Why did you drill a hole in the bottom of the water resevior, either way the overflow from the planter was above the resevior and it could have just drained down to an opening "In The Top" of the resevior instead of drilling a hole at the bottom and creating an unecessary leak risk plus going to the bottom prevents a freeflow of drainge ???

@MegaPervertedhermit welders use CO2 as a shielding gas for MIG welders. They use cans just as big as the one in the vid. Check out a welding shop. I know this because I'm a welder :-)

NO u dont need CO2 but it is really nice to have and use it, and u should never turn your fans off unless the co2 is on, the only thing i think is stupid with this setup is why have the co2 on timers and his fans are not. It kinda defeats the purpose because your going to have to turn the fans off when the co2 turns on. So u will be attending to the plants anyway. Unless u have the fans on the same timer Also NEVER spray anything on the plants

@blackeyez3 i think the premise of the co2 canister was to save time, so instead of going to the plants 3 times a day to spray it with bubbly water(oxygenated water) the tubes and the timer will do it for him. Same with the hydroponic system as a whole, instead of watering the soil 3 days again(again saving time) the pumps and the timer do it for him.

Are you having mother plants/clones etc, or you just going to plant many seeds and grow them (as them ak and white are feminised) that way you could keep to 1 set up and change the light (type, wattage and lighting hours) and nutrs (obviously cleaning your tank, which you should be doing every couple of weeks anyhow) when time comes.
