I really dont see the point of this, amount of effort he put in he should have made a replica of the real thing!!!! Stupid car doesnt do anything, he should have put a few servos in it and made it radio control.
@reconforsales You are not much for art, are you? ;) Maybe the type of person that thinks the amount of explosions and lack of dialogue is what makes a movie great ;)
It's cool to make it smaller than the real thing, one of a kind and a great challenge, and radio control would have destroyed the realism since the RC-recievers and stuff gotta fit somewhere... and of course would be a risk to crash it and cry forever afterwards..
@Toerme "... and of course would be a risk to crash it and cry forever afterwards.." The days of crystals and interference issues at top level RC competition racing are over. For example my system is 2.4GHz frequency hopping, tells me what the receiver battery level is. If either receiver or transmitter reach pre set threshold levels I'm warned in advance locally before things go criticle. Yes, there is still a risk, but it's no where near as risky as it once was pre this technology that I use.
Oh man, that thing is phenomenal...it's even got working gauges. That is just too cool for words, and I agree...the Ferrari factory should give him a real Ferrari for having built that.
@TopGunGB No need to scale yourself down. The 1:1 scale version still exists so you can still offer to donate all your blood and more to do the same. LOL
absolutely incredible. not many people are that passionate and so fervent about something (or anything for that matter) these days. it's nice to see those who are truly dedicated to their interests.
this man should be given a real Ferrari for his awesome and undeniably superhuman efforts
Guys, just marvel at the determination and ingenuity . dont pick at percieved faults. It is far and away better than anything I could build, Monsieur Scerri, that is amazing, well done
the shifting isn´t real anymore in RC, because now you have to shift like with a real car, an in RC it would be automatically, so that´s not what he wanted!
Of course he could make it remote controlled, I think the idea for not making it remote control is to maintain scale. This is the most impressive thing in scale modeling I have ever seen!
Should have made a large replica. waste of time.

He screwed up.
Should have made a full scale.
Body = fibreglass.
Engine =$ dollar$. But he spent how much on the miniature.

@Ibringthetruth1 HE FABRICATED EVERYTHIN FROM SCRATCH, SO MONEY SPENT= 0$

@nismoserge

I would rate this comment up a billion points if I could. But you'll have to forgive me for only having one point to give :)

More like 24" tall since it's 1/3 scale, but yeah, me too.

OK let's not get too technical here lol.
But duly noted.

ok it is a real car, actually runs drives and the gears work, but with a full scale car he should work on an F1

its not radio controlled because he made a exact model of the real car, the real one isn't remote controled ya know :)

why not make it remote control? they've done it with full size cars, it can certainly be done with that, it'd be amazing to see that thing move.
dtpchilli4life 4 years ago
It certainly would, but then if it crashed it would be so sad, especially since it took 12 years to make it.

WOW!!! That thing seems to smoke alot. Did the full size one smoke that much?
MUSKETT30 4 years ago
it's a race-car... i don't think they cared about emissions
veyronman 4 years ago
it smokes so much because it is running on nitro fuel which is meant for 2 strokes so it has oil in it
78f2504x4 4 years ago
The engine is a dry sump engine. im guessing that nitro fuel keeps it oiled at the same time?
