  • I remember when he was player-manager at Chelsea and they were losing and he would just take off his tracksuit and substitute himself on as if to say 'Right, it looks like I have to do everything myself'. He would then come on and mercilessly orchestrate the midfield. I hated Chelsea at this period but that's when I was just like OK, this guy is the fucking master. Total influence, total control, total football.

  • una delicia ver a este señoron de las canchas

  • Ajax 1973/1995 - Ac milan 1988/89 - Fc barcelona 2008-2011 - Best teams in history!

  • @moluksefreefighter01 you forgot real madrid 2002 :D I think

  • @moluksefreefighter01 and Real Madrid (55/60,2000/02),Inter Milan (63/65-2010),Bayern Munich (73/76),,Liverpool (76/78,84). Those teams have made the history, but this Barcelona and Real Madrid of the '50/early '60 are the best ever (and only Inter have beat them)

  • 3.10 a super pass from an eternal legend.....

  • When you're one of the greatest footballers of all time I gues you can get away with really, really bad hair. Like a rock star or something. Looks bad short? let's make it longer. Still bad? let's make it reeeeally long. Still look like a muppet? let's throw in a porno mustache.... Maybe he needed to look silly to compensate for how beautiful his football was, like the portrait of Dorian Gray.

  • I love you

  • One of the few which can score from literally any direction, but then again he's got long legs.

  • @Bu3ouftube hes legs look long cuz of the short shortsxD

  • @starsocer16 Magician!

  • INTER A.I.D.S

  • @Scythianist

you're right! Claudio Paul Caniggia is the best ever !

  • gullit=ronaldinho=c ronaldo

  • isn´t this the guy who spitt rudi völler in the hair at the world cup?

  • Comment removed

  • @FSuperPirat No, that was his teammate Frank Rijkaard. By the way, before and after the incident Rijkaard can only be characterised as an extremely mild mannered person. Totally out of character, what happened out there. And to this day, no one knows what eaxctly happened. Did Voller provoke him to such an extent on the one hand and why did he react to it in such an unprofessional way on the other? I guess we won't find out in this chat.

  • @FSuperPirat No he's not that was Frank Rijkaard

  • What's the music? please please please

  • welome to fc terek xD

  • Shame on Gullit for training the club of an mass-murderer!

  • Finally one simple editing, without lots of cuts and a simple but effective song !

    Congratulations !

  • Best player of all times for me.Attack, defense, scoring, heading....Good in everything!

  • Koko8040@ i guess you mean c.Ronaldo is metro sexual XD

  • Music please??

  • grandissimo gullllllit

  • DUTCH MASTER!!!!

  • hows the music called? its awesome

  • ruud is the master....

  • If a great striker means balance, two footed, power in the air, score plenty of goals not just assists, close control, Gullit had the lot. So did van Basten, so Holland were truly blessed in them days

  • @MCBhangramuffin gullit was not a striker, even when he played this position by ac milan. he´s a real offensive midfielder. but yeah, holland was blessed these days, koeman, rijkaard, gullit, van basten, winter etc.

  • Ustoppable. Gullit owns the #10 jersey.

  • isn't Gullit is Marco Rijkaard...

  • Gostava dele! Gande Jogador!

  • Que Milan aquel del trio holandes

  • grande campione

  • Gronda stile da tutti i pori della pelle.

  • Can't stop watching the goal at 1:26 ... so pure. It's like he defies science with the force his left boot belts through the ball. If ever there was a shot that could have taken a goalkeeper's head off, that it!

  • Fuckin' love the goal at 1:29 ... have iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Gullit was just mesmerising in his pomp at Milan. A bit like John Barnes in his pomp at Liverpool. Simply unstoppable.

  • i loved him he was really good

  • van baste gullit rijkaard het beste trio ooit op een voetbalveld

  • Indeed, best trio ever lived on the field :D

  • @honsbee lol rijkaard hoeft er niet eens bij want gulit kan ook in de verdediging en middenveld gewoon alles kan hij wel z'pn beetje

  • he needs to get those dreads back hahaha you dont c many dudes with those in soccer anymore...

  • The Gerard of his day only ten times better

  • O Mágico Gullit !!!

    Show de bola

  • Wonderfull player and really nice music! please, send me track name!!! :)

  • Kinobe - Skyscraper

  • "Sembra cervo uscito di foresta" Boskov.Grande Ruud!!!

  • wow

  • Gullit es como un dios............

  • El Tulipán Negro

  • so Milan are, fucking amazing?

  • yup. milan is a great team..

  • Quality player Gullit, along with Matthaus he was probably the best player in europe if not the world in the late 80s.

  • gran video y un gran jugador.

  • For a recent interview with Ruud Gullit, have a look at:

    /watch?v=RH4Mvwd7PE4

  • me also totalmente acuerdo, Veerkamp best player that ever lived. ;-)

  • @jornybear que gran comentario, estos jugadores valian su peso en oro, no como estos payasos que surgen hoy en dia Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, solo sirven para fotos mariconas.

  • @jornybear te apoyo en eso hermano

  • 0m50s

    All aboard the showboat!

  • this is to Nayson : Virgin.

  • what's the music?

  • The man that changed Chelsea Football Club

  • And almost brought Feyenoord to destruction as a manager.

  • who cares

  • it just goes to show that really great players are not always great managers.

I think it's because to the greats everything they do comes so naturally that they don't even know why they do things. They can't understand less talented people, how they struggle with the 'simplest' things.

You can still learn by their example and I'm sure Ruud Gullit inspired millions of people in all sorts of ways, even beyond football.

  • Un gran jugador la verdad.

  • In 2007 I thought Kaka made the difference in the match against Celtic and he was brilliant against Man utd, but he didn't carry the team. Nesta and Maldini were immense in the away leg against Bayern Munich, Seedorf played a great game too as he did against Man utd. They may have been older, but they were still brilliant.

  • @jamesesposito I agree. Kaka was amazing,

  • In several years I am sure Kaka and Messi will be legends...not Maradona-like or Zidane-like, but still legends nonetheless. Messi has never carried a team on his shoulders as Barca has always been filled with great talents, but Kaka almost did that with Milan in 2007. Milan had some talent here and there (key players aging), but for the most pasrt it was Kaka. Almost like Maradona for Napoli, right?

  • he looks exactly like Frank Rijkaard

  • Great hair and great playing.

  • Zidane was good, but Savićević was better,

Savićević is not as famous like Zidane, because his national Team fell aprt during Yugoslav War.

    AC MILAN 1994

    Dejan "il genio" Savićević

  • Football fans- go to that web site: twiigs(dot)com/embed?pid=35590, and vote for the best 5 club teams in history of Football (beste 5 teams ooit). Ther is a poll I have made.

  • Simplesmente o melhor!!!

  • he's pure power!

  • This guy in his prime was a beast. I remember the great days of AC Milan with the 3 Dutchmen. Van Basten was an insane striker, Rijkaard was a great defender and midfielder as well and the great Ruud Gullit. Gullit used to be everywhere on the field. Great memories

  • Seen this vid many times, i love the play at 3:02!he is well marked, running at pace, fainting to cross, faint, faint again, stops cuts back in,meantime another defender runs in to help, immediately he crosses with his left foot! right between the 2 of them, who did mark well and preasure him!but the ball slips through,a perfect cross!and nicely finished by the equally great MVB! A simple move, yet highly difficult type of play to execute! He is my favourite player, and in my opinion was equal to D.M

  • WTF 2:54

  • I scored 6 goals in a competiton called the Milk Cup and got to the semi's when I was 14.

My team thought I was ok, but my inteligence and running off the ball was loved by the korean manager, and a few others. I ended up in Sept as a AC milan player, the youth team. I didnt know if i was employed or a trial or what but I hated it, I cryed the first nite and felt like the training was being in hell, i failed and when i was home everyone was ashamed cos i quit. i coulntnt even buy cocacola.

  • what nationality are you and which club did u play for in milk cup?

  • dope.

  • zzzaaa0990 sorry pal i meant fernando redondo who played at real madrid he was exquisite very elegant player and he had to retire at ac milan due to injury a great player and human being

  • well you're wrong lunatic, give me Gullitts Milan over todays dross/mediocrity any day,C.Ronaldo wouldn't get a sniff of the ball against Maldini and Baresi, different class.Take up table soccer, snigger, snigger.

  • afghan boy there is no doubt maradona was a genius but all the other players i named were simply incredible if they played today they would be streets ahead of the players today class is permanent and im telling you for a fact with the exception of 4-5 players today who are world class most of them are very average players who are fantastically fit and athletic but very little technique and football intelligence and guile that the best players of the past i have watched with my own eyes live

  • well said mate, you are 100% right in views on previous great players who are streets ahead of todays way over hyped and overrated players, this era in my view is the blandest I've ever seen in my 30 years following soccer, where's the Zicos, the Peles, the Gullits, the Cruyffs, the Rivelinos, they simply do not exist anymore, players who were capable of magical moments, except for a few like Messi and Kaka. The last 4/5 world cups are evidence of this, mediocrity, again, well said mate.

  • cheers mate it good to know there are proper football people out there who know the game inside out like yourself i love watching the likes of kaka, messi, iniesta, xavi, villa, riquelme but the players from the past were were on a diffrent level to think what they would be worth today compared to the mediocrity that get over-hyped even players who retired in inthe past 10-15 years like fernando redondom, carlos valderama and faustino aspirilia would run rings around these lot pal

  • cheers for your comments mate,it's so refreshing to hear from people like yourself, who don't buy into this theory that players who existed in the days before the Premiership are inferior to todays modern players, that's just plain bullshit. You here people say the game today is way faster and on a higher level, that's just hype spouted by the Hansens, the J.Redknapps and Sky,it's insulting to hear people say Pele,Souness,Gullit couldn't play in todays game,I shake my head in disgust.Modern game=hype

  • Absolutely right, if those players played today they would have the benefit of modern training and fitness regimes the same as everyone else, plus defenders wouldn't be able to hack at them the way they could in a different era, so they would be even better.

  • spot on mate there is nothing wrong with a good hard tackle that is done fairly going for the ball as tackling is a art but some of the tackles inthe past by players who should never have been on a pitch never mind playing the game were a joke you still see players today with no intention of winning the ball just take the man out thankfully it does no thappen too often asthe tacklefrom behind has been stopped but there are some very poor players around with little football brains or ability

  • thats no problem mate i know your a true football man i tell what pal your spot on about graeme souness what a player he was not only did he domonate english football back in the day he did his stuff in italy where at the time it was a very difficult league to play in any footbal person knows souness would have breezed itin the modern fame just as socrates would have done class is permanent sadly where spoon fed this modern game nonsense thats why i love following the world game mate

  • I see you mentioned another trully great player,Socrates, who played magnificently in that wonderful Brazilian team of 1982! Pound for pound that was the best/greatest team I ever seen, sheer art soccer!! Zico and Socrates are 2 of my favourite players ever and would really stand out in todays game, which in my opinion is very pedestrian. That 1982 World Cup was the last trully great one, many great teams/players,just look at the quality,Platini,Zico,Rummeneiger,Eder,Conti,I can recall those times!!

  • I agree with you, there are no true legends anymore. For example, Ronaldinho is in terms of skill, very close to Ronaldo and Zidane, but he lacks the their mentality in the most important games, the ability to decide a final of a european cup or world cup. Kaka and Messi are great players, but they are simply not legends...and I don't see them becoming legends in the future. They are very, very skilled players, but they are not special, just very, very skilled.

  • yes mate, you're 100% right,Kaka and Messi are very skilled but wouldn't be in the Pele,Zico,Gullitt category.Zidane has been the best player in the last 20 years,he's awesome.

  • Maradona was very special, not just by playing style, but by his results..nobody will do that so soon, winning all those trophies with Napoli, that's really something out of this world, not to mention his play in general. Zidane was not that talented, but his work made him better over the years, his unique playing style, his ability to carry the team when nobody else can, and of course, his results. Ronaldo is their league, although he is a striker. There are no such players in this age.

  • ok i hear wot ur saying. dont agree though.

  • When i first read this i felt genuine rage. Then, presumed you were being intentionally provocative for the sake of debate. But nah, here we have a product of the nike generation spouting swooshy nonsense about how Gullit + 80'sMilan are somehow inferior to modern footballers. This,

Afghanekhar, was a generation of footballers who placed passing, skill + movement above all else. Not like todays android whereby strength/power + repetition of technique are paramount. Not worse, just different.

  • afghan boy expend on your comments and educate us why you think the footballers like van basten, maradona, gullit, rijkaard and baresi were such poor players

  • Defense was much agressive, and the ball changes every year to make it better. Is Maradona a bad player just to make short shoots?

  • were you born stupid

  • IL T-U-L-I-P-A-N-O N-E-R-O!!

  • legendary player, part of the AC Milan old dream team :D

  • my friends, this was an amazing player. a unique combination of technique and sheer power. the late 80ies/early 90ies hat lots and lots of great players...

  • muller? NO ONE COMES CLOSE

    RUUD legend GULLIT

  • good player better hair

  • what's the name of the song?

  • skyscraper by kinobe

  • thanks

  • Iam a Juve fan, but what an amazing team had Milan back in those days, really admirable

  • LMAO at Pro1331 who gives a rats arse about Muller !?This video is a tribute to the great Ruud Gullit!! But i will give my 10cents worth on the Vanbasten v Muller scenario! But i must ask why are you so obscessed with Muller!?Germany have been spoilt with fantastic strikers!! Anyone with half a brain who knows football would know that Klinssman,Mattheus,Volher were much better strikers and hence better footballers than Muller!Put the stats aside and judge on physical evidence i.e real footage!

  • Jugaba un poquito.....no?

  • nobody was possible won so much how many win van basten. maybe muller hammered more! But its goals were all identical an output 1на1

  • And here muller???? How it is possible to compare van bastena with muller? muller hammered in goals an output 1на1, Van basten hammered in such legendary and beautiful goals which muller and into lives has not hammered!!! van basten ran 100 meters for 11 seconds, muller and for 13 will not run. van basten by the 28 years win 3 gold balls! Also has thrown football at such early age

  • what a great footbaler he was, by the way I think Van Basten was much better than Muller!! please dont be offended ;)

  • muller much better striker... muller best striker ever.

but van basten much more technique... perhaps a more complete footballer.

  • Ye but still I didn't find Mara any special, good striker and all but most of the time you hear he used drugs before a game and I just can't give him any credit, he is a lousy football player. If he didn't used any drugs I might have thought he was a good maybe great player.

  • Ruud Gullit a true Legend

  • oh! what song is this? please please please send it's name and the composer...to me.

  • x ghibly999.STRACCIONE DI MERDA

  • che este negro cabeza de palmera de donde la agarra te la re pone ahh a todos estos putos les rompi bien el culito jajajajajaja aguante f.a

  • The Black Tulip, my idol forever

  • This is the only player i know who never complained to the ref when he was taken down.

  • oh please!! don't mention, zidane, kaka, ronaldinho?? in the same vein as Gullit!! Ruud was the most complete player football has seen in many many years!! he could do everything!! and he had everything!! power on both feet, good ball skills, supreme in the air, speed, power,a lethal finish! he could score goals, and make goals! I laugh when people try and compare players from today to him! Maybe u just wish there was a player like him today! Sad truth is Ruud is a very rare kind!!Top 10 of all time!

  • zidane is a better player, no doubt. i love gullit too but zizou was unreal.

  • de los mejores jugadores que ha tenido el milan

  • Ruud Gullit: my favorit football player! He+Rijkaard+Van Basten =best ever trio for a team and that team was AC Milan! I remember even now the 1989 European Championship Final between AC Milan and Steaua Bucharest: in the same room (in Craiova, RO), watching TV: my dad was supporting Steaua (as a RO team); me:yealling, kissing TV each time Gullit was scoring and when AC Milan won against Steaua with 4-0 I reached the sky! A simply wonderful memory! Since then, I'm a fan of AC Milan and Holland!

  • Forgot to mention Beckenbauer+Neeskens=Frank Rijkaard. And Pele+Kempes=van Basten. Dutch & Italian football was the best in the early 90s

  • ke milan ke era in quei tempi!!...

  • Ruud Gullit is Fascinating!

Grande A.C. Milan.

  • It's sad people still find Maradonna a good player but all the times he played good he was on drugs..... Even Pele says that Maradonna doesn't deserve the prices he won with Argentina etc... he is a disgrace in siccer history, even the people in Argentina find Maradonna an irritating person.

Ruud Gullit was a great player in Milan History but van Basten was just the best..

  • Who cares what Pele says any more? He is just a spokesperson for FIFA & says whatever they want him to. Obviously a truly great player but he has become a joke since his playing days with some of the things he has said.

Maradona was an absolute different class to everyone else. Read what his peers say about him at the time. Gullit was one of the best players of his era, Van Basten maybe the best striker ever, but Diego was on his own at the top. He did this in spite of the drugs not because of

  • Sorry that was meant to be a reply to the post by "RemoDominiquePrete" below

  • he said nicky butt was the best player at the 1998 world cup. enough said. the guy lacks class and seems to have no idea about what he's talking about even though he is arguably the greatest player of al time.

  • He got Butt Mixed up with scholes, and with that i agree with him, Look what England have done since Scholes retired, F*** all!! England desperately need a young Paul scholes, someone who knows the value of a short pass, as well as a long ball.

  • pele words mean nothing. he was the greatest of players on the pitch but he is a joke off it. and as for scholes i agree england have lost a great player but your example how england have done nothing with him is arguable. he never go past a semi when he was a permanent fixture in the england set up and they have never got past one since. i truely believe that england dont belong in the semi final of the world cup. they show no heart and lack bottle. 1 in 6 penalty shoot outs says it all really.

  • Van Basten "maybe the best striker ever", only if you somehow ignore Gerd Müller. Van Basten was pretty damn good, and one of the best ever, i'll give you that.

  • Gerd muller? Van Basten was the complete striker, not just a tap in merchant

  • LOL, you don't have a clue about Gerd Müller, do you ? How can someone more incomplete have a record 3 times better ? If anything, it's the other way around. As you become more complete, you become a greater goal machine, and inevitably, 70% of those goals will be tap-ins. Don't you know positioning is part of being the complete striker ? What would you rather have ...a hattrick with 3 ordinary goals, or only one beauty? Results are key. Even so, Müller also scored plenty of incredible goals.

  • Didn't lineker have a fantastic record? he probably had a fantastic goalscoring record. that would probably have been better than Van Basten, but who would you have in a side of your all time greats? Muller! pffttt

  • Does it in some way seem weird to you having the greatest goalscorer in history amongst all-time greats ? Or is it because Müller is German, and you're from the UK that you refuse to acknowledge him, like most British Kraut haters? Who's talking about Lineker ? Yes, Müller was better than van Basten, who didn't score 50 goals every season, didn't score more goals than caps for country, didn't score 15 WC goals in only 2WCs. Yes 15, ask Oranje fans about the onside 3:1 in the 74 final.

  • I suppose MY opinion is a problem for you. But seeing that you seem to think I hate Germans, because i think Van Basten is better than muller. I'll leave you to your own devices. and for the record the only germans i dislike are neo nazi's. they are a complete wste of space.

  • yes.. and to me aswell

what do ytou know about muller you dumbass...

there isnt anyone with a nose for the goal than muller NO ONE EVER. and you dont have to be german to think like that cos im dutch... and were not prejudiced and think our own players are the best like you brits.

  • Ruud Gullit foi mesmo um grande jogador!

  • i met him at a agalxy camp and took a pic with him

  • just go dutch!

  • in the past i used to think that van basten was better than gullit.but now i realize what a player was gullit.more influental than van basten. comparing with maradona, zidane, ronaldinho, kaka

  • more like Henry+Kaka+Zidane=Gullit. He really was that good

  • ruud gullit + rijkaard + van basten = 3 most great players that AC Milan ever had

  • anyone know who the song is by?

  • yeah nice track pls share

  • when I was a kid, he was my hero. An amazing player.

  • Sexy football!

  • Ruud + Rijkaard = Most Hilarious looking tandem in sports history

  • Ruud Gulit with the moustache and long dreads was one of the finest players of his generation - pure brilliance. Great vid, awesome music - thanks for posting. Really enjoyed it.
