  • Would this work with a TC electronic GMajor2 and a midi pedalboard?

  • @thegrimreaper7 Yes definitely!

  • @rjmmusic I have a question, what do you use to plug the mini amp gizmo to the mkv so that you can change channels,fx,reverb,eq,mute and solo? Are you using a special cable or just the footswitch cable that comes with the mkv, straight into the footswitch plug to the line 6 pedalboard?

Is it necesary to use something like the BOB8 as a cable adapter?

  • @thegrimreaper7 We have an adapter cable that connects between the Mini Amp Gizmo and the Mark V's footswitch jack (not the 1/4" inch switching jacks). This cable is different from the footswitch cable included with the amp - it has additional circuitry in the cable that makes the amp think that the actual footswitch is connected.

  • @rjmmusic Nice. Could you explain to me how I could make connections to have a TCElectronic GMajor2 connected to the MKV and controlling it with the mastermind? I'd really like to know how this could be done, as this is the rig I'm expecting to get shortly.

    Thanks!

  • Does this work for a TC novasytem and a mesa mark V ? Would be great

  • @peetenliesbeth Yes, it'll work the same way with a Nova System / Mark V setup

  • @peetenliesbeth I just ordered it today, hope you can send it asap ! It has to be send to Holland ;-)

  • Hi ! I have a Mesa Boogie Rectoverb combo and a Line 6 M 13.I saw that this supports the Guizmo Mini Amp.My questions are :Does this work the same way if I use the M13 through the FX loop (4 cables method). And also I use a "real" Tube Screamer (TS9),it there any chance that I can also control that with the M13 through the mini amp ? Thank you !

  • @Maitrecoke Yes, it'll work the same way connecting it with the 4 cable method - the MIDI connections are independent of the audio connections. Neither the M13 nor the Mini Amp Gizmo are able to switch "real" pedals, but if you add our Mini Effect Gizmo, it can switch up to five pedals and will work in combination with the M13 and Mini Amp Gizmo.

  • @rjmmusic I had a rectoverb and M13 and the 4 cable method wouldn't work without modding the effects loop.

  • @riverak100 Yeah, the Rectifier series needs the loop to be modded to a series loop. The Mark V has a series loop, so it works right out of the box.

  • I own a Mesa Triple Rec and the Line 6 M13. Is it possible to switch channels on the amp without changing scenes? For example if FX patch 1C is a delay (used with the clean channel) and FX patch 3B is a pitch shifter (used with the dirty channel). I do a lot of toggling between clean and dirty in songs and having to change scenes to change channels is still as frustrating as having to hit my Bigfoot foot controller and my effect to get my desired sound.

  • @bulletproofbeard Unfortunately, you can only change channels on the amp when you change scenes on the M13. The M13 is somewhat limited as a MIDI controller. Some people get around this by using a MIDI controller to control both the M13 and Amp Gizmo, or using a MIDI controller next to the M13. Not the most elegant solution, but it works for some people.

  • @rjmmusic I was afraid of that. I am totally new to the world of MIDI and I have always been a traditional stompbox guy. I got the M13 to conserve pedal board space. Thank you for the help. I might look into using a MIDI controller. Are there any that you would prefer?

  • I bought the mark V and the mini amp gizmo to switch the line 6 m9! Love the mini amp gizmo!!! I went from a rocktron all access pod x3 pro and tons of rack gear to the mark v and the line 6 m9 to switch everything on the amp!!

  • ahhh... im i missing something here? you have to click on two switches to change the effect and the amp channel.... ??? so this is not buying you anything... thats what i have to do today... one click on the mark V to change the channel and one click to change the affect on my rack effect...

  • @dvmoo7 When we did this video, I didn't know about the "latching scene" mode that the M13 has. With that, you won't need to press the scene button all the time. If you check out the M9 video we have, it shows how it works with latching scene mode. (and it works the same way with the M13).

  • Not sure if the m13 would be an ideal controller for live performance

is it possible to switch scenes on the m13 with one foot click of the switch?...not 2 clicks?I know it's ment to operate as a bunch of stomp boxes.Hopefully there is a "scene mode"where one could preset a combination of stomps to one switch.Hmmm

  • @carlheinz I didn't know it at the time we did this video, but you can set up "latching scene mode" on the M13, where pressing the scene button once makes all of the other buttons select scenes - and they stay in that mode until you press the scene button again, which returns you to individual pedal on/off control. We show this in your M9 video.

  • can I use the mini amp gizmo with a b52 AT100 head amp?

  • Very cool video. I have an M-13 and a Mesa Express 5:50. Would a midi controller allow me to change scenes on the Line 6 AND change patches on the Mesa? Any help would be really husky of you.

  • @davebuzard Yes, you can either use the M13 as your MIDI controller as shown in the video, or you can use any other MIDI controller to control both the M13 and Mini Amp Gizmo, which in turn controls the channel switching on the amp.

  • hi, i have the M13, and i'd like to use this system to change my amp channel, but i usually use the m13 in stompoboxes mode. do you know if i can use mini amp gizmo to change amp channel, working with the single stompboxes button and not in scene mode?

    please let me know

    sorry for my little english

    Nico from Italy

  • Just ordered my Mini-Amp Gizmo a few days ago. I cannot wait to use it with my M13 and Blackstar HT-40 combo.

I will try to post a video response to this for anyone interested.

    Great idea/product.

  • @JCLangiu Remember that you can put the M13 in latch scene mode so that you don't have to tap the scenes button before you select your scene.

  • Here is my set up Line6 wireless guitar Korg tuner Mesa dual rectifier Rjm rg 16 M13 (in Mesa effects loop ?) Noise gate Speaker cab If u could help I have had alot of noise before, if u could let me know maybe the set up u recommed, u can post it here or email me Huitt20@yahoo.com Thanks Ron I love RJM stuff
  • Cool thanks, how do I run the effects in the m13 before my amp such as tube screamer and delays and mod after the pre amp through the rg16?

  • @HUITT20 It's called the 4 cable method - check the Line 6 forum for information. We'll also have a video with the 4 cable method soon.

  • Does the rg16 work the same, I have one and was using a gmajor and dual rectifier but now have a m13, I want to use my ground control pro to switch the scenes and amp chnnels is that possible?

  • @HUITT20 Yes, the RG-16 works exactly the same. You can definitely send messages from your Ground Control and have it change scenes on the M13 and changing presets on the RG-16 simultaneously.

  • @TafesseVision They don't stock it, but can special order it. Alternately, you can buy it through our site.

  • @TafesseVision We now have an GT-10 in house and hope to do a video in the next few weeks. Please note that, even though the Hod Rod and Supersonic have 1/4" jacks, they need our cable specially made for those amps - Fender did some crazy electronic tricks to allow a 2-button and 4-button footswitch to work with a normal 1/4" cable - usually that's not possible.

  • Is the M13 in the Front-end, FX Loop, or the 4-cable method???

Can you do a demo using the BOSS GT-10 using the 4 cable method?

  • @scottybee33 The M13 is connected in front of the amp, but it will work equally well with any connection method. We may do a GT-10 video next.

  • This is freaken awsome! 2 questions.. Does it work with an Orange Rockerverb MKII Head? And is there any noticeable latency when switching scences with different channel settings?

    Thanks for tha time

    Stemlife

  • @stemlife Yes, it'll work with a Rockerverb. We have a 1/4" adapter cable that can connect to the footswitch jack. There's no noticeable latency, no more than using the amp's own footswitch.

  • Would I be able to use a midi footswitch with the M13 while the amp gizmo is hooked up. I don't want to have to change scenes everytime I switch patches

  • Can this SO EASY method being used with the Effect gizmo? I'm trying to incorporate analog pedals+line POD X3 live+My valve amp

  • @rvx7b Yes, the Effect Gizmo would work in the same way. You would need either an Effect Gizmo or RG-16 depending on what kind of amp you're trying to control.

  • @rvx7b Yes, the Effect Gizmo works in the exact same manner.

  • Thanks for these videos, it makes everything so simple to build a rig.

Can i make this exact thing, but instead of using the M13...using a POD X3 Live...?

    Thanks for your time.

  • @rvx7b Sure, check my other videos for an X3 Live video. It has a different amp, but the principle is the same.

  • Can you control a Lonestar with this?

  • @orpheus06 Yes, you just need our 1/4" adapter cable to connect from the Mini Amp Gizmo to the external switching inputs of the Lone Star. The rest will work the same.

  • Hi again thanks for your reply. Does the listed price of Mini Amp Gizmo included the RRN cable? Actually I'm going to get a G-lab MAC-4.4 Midi Amp Controller , but it's controlled by 1/4". Your RRN cable really make it simple.

  • @jovibw No, the RRN cable is not included.

  • How about CH2?Does it means Amp Gizmo can control CH1,CH2,CH3,SOLO,Loop by using 4 1/4" ? What's the difference between Amp Gizmo and Amp Gizmo mini other than the 1/4" and special RRN cable? How about the quality/stability between both? Is there any delay/noise when switching the channel when programmed by GT-5? Thanks very much

  • @jovibw The CH2 jack isn't needed. If CH1 and CH3 are not selected, the amp defaults to CH2. The only difference between the Amp Gizmo and Mini is the presence of 1/4" jacks (which also implies a difference in price and size). They work the same. There is no perceptible delay when using either.

  • Hi I got a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier(Three Channel) and BOSS GT-5.

Can I get the connect between them with Amp Gizmo or Amp Gizmo mini?

  • @jovibw Yes, you can either use an Amp Gizmo with four 1/4" cables to connect to the Rectifier's external switching jacks (CH1, CH3, Loop and Solo jacks), or you can use a Mini Amp Gizmo with our "RRN" (Rectifier / Road King / Nomad) cable - that cable connects to the Rectifier's footswitch jack. Either way will allow you to switch everything that the footswitch can using your GT-5.

  • Got it. So, in Latched scene mode you can select 12 scenes of four M13 effects instantly from the footswitch, simultaneously switching 12 midi presets on connected gear. While not 128 midi presets, 12 is enough for me live. Thanks for clearing this up.

  • There's a video using "latched scene mode" to switch 12 patches on a jmp -1 called

"Line 6 M13 MIDI Controller Demo" by stilwel . Since it is switching Jmp-1 via midi, can't it also switch the amp gizmo? I believe he did this without changing scenes. If this is true, how many M13 effects are available per patch?

  • @AlanScottBand In the video, he's using latching scene mode so that he's always selecting scenes (except at the end where he switches the M13 into into effect on/off mode). The M13 only sends program changes in scene mode, so you can only get it to change presets on an external device when you switch scenes - it's the same for an JMP, Amp Gizmo or any other MIDI device that uses program change messages.

  • This is great!! Thank you for this Video!

  • Hi, is there any way to switch between amp channels and effects within the same scene? ie. one preset to be Ch 1 with Reverb, another to be Ch 2 with delay, another to be Ch 3 no effects, and so on. Is there any way to do this with this product? I have an M13 and a Mesa Dual Rec. Thanks!

  • @tomahawkin95 Unfortunately, there's no way to get presets to switch without switching scenes. The M13 only sends program change messages when switching scenes.

  • would there be any way to switch between effects and amp channels in the same scene? ie. if I want one preset to be Ch 1 with chorus, another preset to be Ch 2 with delay, and another to be Ch3 no effects, and so on...is there any way to do this witht his product or any of your other ones? I have a M13 and a Mesa dual rec.

  • Is there any way to switch between modes in the Mark V? Example in Channel 3 I generally use the MkIV mode with EQ for rhythm and for leads I use the MkIIC+ mode without EQ, both are in the Channel 3. Is there any way to accomplish that?

Very impressive demo, thanks in advance!

  • @germanghdz No, there's no way to accomplish that short of modding the amp to add an external switching jack for the modes (and I don't know how hard that would be - you could ask Mesa or a Mesa service center to see if it's possible).

  • @rjmmusic thank you for the fast reply! Ordering a RG-16 anyway :)

  • Hi,

Would this set-up work with a Line 6 POD X3 Live instead of a M13? Would you have to change the MIDI settings or whatever?

    Has anybody done this before?

    Thanks!

  • @vXvLETHALvXv Yes, it works exactly the same, no setting changes required. Check out our other videos - we have one on the X3 Live.

  • @rjmmusic Thanks for the fast reply!

I would love to get a Mini Amp Gizmo going in my rig, would make life so much easier.

  • I want one!!!!

  • I've had the gizmo working with my V and M13 for a month now and I am loving it. It's as easy as video says. Go buy one!

  • I use a Mesa Roadster Combo and a Mesa Stiletto ace together does this support amp switching? if so I am sold...

  • The Mini Amp Gizmo controls channel switching, but does not switch between multiple amps. You can add our Y-Not to add A/B/Y Switching, or move up to the RG-16 which does channel switching and audio switching.

  • Do you support Carvin? I have a 1988 x100b, and am definitely getting the M13 and would rather do switching with the mini amp gizmo than my amp's switch

  • We just started supporting the X100b reissue. I know the original X100b is a little different, but we should be able to support that as well.

  • I hear no noise at all with this rig wired up using the 4CM. Did you have to use any kind of ISO boxes or ground lifts for this? I have a Mark IV and would love to use the mini amp gizmo/M13 as you've done here.

  • No iso boxes or ground lifts. Worst case, you might need to lift a ground or two on the cables in the effect loop, but we didn't have to do anything special.

  • @rjmmusic : Thanks Ron!

  • I have a Mesa Mark III that I just rackmounted (not MIDI and uses 2 standard jacks to control 3 channels). Could I use the Mini Amp Gizmo in conjunction with say the GCX amp switcher/ground control unit to control my Mesa? I really wanna run my pedals from my rack.

  • You can use a Mini Amp Gizmo with a Mark III, but you won't be able to connect to all footswitch jacks at once - there are footswitch jacks on the front and rear panels of the amp, and our 1/4" adapter cables can't reach both. I recommend the original Amp Gizmo. It has four 1/4" jacks on it, and you can connect it to the Mark III (all footswitch jacks) using multiple standard 1/4" cables.

  • Does RJM make a cable to connect to a Rivera Fandango?

  • Yes, we make a cable that works with all Rivera amps that have an FS-4 or FS-7 footswitch, including the Fandango.

  • Does RJM have MIDI cable for Egnater amps? I am just wondering could you make a rig like this - T.C. nova system midi out to Mini Amp Gizmo in to Egnater and T.C. in to some MIDI foot controller out, so when I change preesets the channel changes also...

  • Yes, we support Egnater amps as well.

  • So could a rg16 be controlled with a m13 and recall scenes/stompboxes at once ?

  • Yes, it would work exactly the same way as with the Mini Amp Gizmo - each scene could activate any of the loops in the RG-16 to bring in extra effects.

  • This will also work with the M9 correct? Same software/hardware as M13, just a small package.

  • Yes, same thing for sure. We now have a video featuring the M9 here on Youtube.

  • i have a pod x3. so where , or how would i connect it up? The midi cables go to the foot switch input of the amp, where does the other end go ?

  • The MIDI cable connects from the POD to the MIDI input of the Mini Amp GIzmo, the Amp output of the Mini Amp GIzmo connects to the footswitch jack of your amp.

  • A scene is a group of effects, so selecting a scene can activate up to four effects at once (just by pressing one button).

  • In latch mode, it depends on whether the Scene button is on or off. If it's on, pressing one of the 12 select buttons chooses a scene (and all effects in the scene). If the Scene button is off, then the 12 select buttons turn individual effects on and off.

  • Yes, any standard MIDI pedal can change scenes on the M13.

  • Yes, I had the M13 in momentary scene mode, which requires two button presses to switch scenes. If you switch your M13 to latching scene mode, then you can switch from scene to scene with a single button press. The Mini Amp Gizmo will still handle channel changes just as well in this mode.

  • So this works with the Mesa Triple Rectifier?? Another question is the only way to switch the amp if by switching the scenes?

  • Yes, it definitely works with a Triple Recto, as well as pretty much every other popular amp. On the M13, you do need to switch scenes to switch the amp.

  • Thanks! We can work with pretty much any amp - if you have any questions about how it works or about compatibility, please let us know.

  • This is incredible.

I was planning on getting a midi enabled Hughes and Kettner, but this will allow me to buy any amp!

    Awesome product!
