May i take your life, it would be taken in a very severe way, much pain would be involved, but i think it would be akin to a kindly act of putting a dog down! and after.. your corpse could be oh so sweetly stuffed and put on display in some civic back water town art gallery. What do you think,,I mean it has to happen one day so why not do it this way..
Fuck! Did Julian Cope sue Blur for making this song into Colin Zeal on the Modern Life is Rubbish album? Or maybe it was the Teardrop's keyboardist's idea, since he also owned Food Records (the label that signed Blur up)
@warhol20000 Ha ha ha, oh, you are right on the money...I agree...there is many a Blur song what sounds like Teardrop Explodes...like Fade Away by Blur sounds like Christ versus Warhol in parts...I suppose that Blur working with David Balfe, the keyboardist with Teardrop Explodes did contribute to Blur' s sound..so yeah, you do make a valid point
@oogie11 and warhol20000. Maybe there's a resemblance in the keyborads, but the keyboard player at this time was Paul Simpson, not Dave Balfe. The first part of Cope's autobiography 'Head On' is a good source of info on this.
@tomcatfoxy Oh, I see, I apologise for my mistake, oh, ok..well, I have Julian Cope's autobiography, but I haven't read it yet, will do soon though :)
Troumer - The Reason that the mastering on "Piano" is so bad is because the original masters no longer exist to anyone's knowledge and Drummond didnt have permission to put that out ..Julian is owed money for this.
Some of the less-polished versions from the early ZOO singles are quite good--it's a shame the mastering on the Piano cd is so poor. This, however, is fantastic.
I cant believe i still have the original 7 inch of this.

I used to work in one of the buildings overlooking the water sculpture, and I went to CF Mott College, but just missed Copey!

I'm trying to explore new band and keep an open mind when I came across Teardrop Explodes, but I have to say this is awful.

An excellent re-working of this timeless favourite of mine, the swirling coda of the keyboards , the naivete and freshness, just wonderful..
gjphelps 1 year ago
@gjphelps not often one reads "the swirling coda of the keyboards" here. have to say i find this version a little over-produced but it's interesting.
