  • I cant believe i still have the original 7 inch of this.

  • It sounds very 60s

  • great stuff, is it a special single version or session version?

  • Why not insist these images on the music.

  • c my vid julian cope is dead

  • I used to work in one of the buildings overlooking the water sculpture, and I went to CF Mott College, but just missed Copey!

  • where did you get this from?

it sounds like a good demo for the idea!

    of the end result

    thanks

  • I'm trying to explore new band and keep an open mind when I came across Teardrop Explodes, but I have to say this is awful.

  • An excellent re-working of this timeless favourite of mine, the swirling coda of the keyboards , the naivete and freshness, just wonderful..

  • @gjphelps not often one reads "the swirling coda of the keyboards" here. have to say i find this version a little over-produced but it's interesting.

  • Fuck! Did Julian Cope sue Blur for making this song into Colin Zeal on the Modern Life is Rubbish album? Or maybe it was the Teardrop's keyboardist's idea, since he also owned Food Records (the label that signed Blur up)

  • @warhol20000 Ha ha ha, oh, you are right on the money...I agree...there is many a Blur song what sounds like Teardrop Explodes...like Fade Away by Blur sounds like Christ versus Warhol in parts...I suppose that Blur working with David Balfe, the keyboardist with Teardrop Explodes did contribute to Blur' s sound..so yeah, you do make a valid point

  • @oogie11 and warhol20000. Maybe there's a resemblance in the keyborads, but the keyboard player at this time was Paul Simpson, not Dave Balfe. The first part of Cope's autobiography 'Head On' is a good source of info on this.

  • @tomcatfoxy Oh, I see, I apologise for my mistake, oh, ok..well, I have Julian Cope's autobiography, but I haven't read it yet, will do soon though :)

  • @tomcatfoxy Yes, Head on is a cracking read, there are plans afoot to turn it into a film!

  • sometimes i wonder, if you're really livin'...

what is this feelin' you think that you're givin'...

  • Troumer - The Reason that the mastering on "Piano" is so bad is because the original masters no longer exist to anyone's knowledge and Drummond didnt have permission to put that out ..Julian is owed money for this.

  • Excellent tune.

  • It's amazing!

    I love it!!!!!

  • That was good.

    Very enjoyable!

  • no-one, obviously, had a clue about how much they were really up for - there´s ethereal material for one dozen future hits in this track

  • A great selection, congratulations.

  • whats with the negative comment you prick!!!!???

  • better than the album version...very raw, and very ZOO

  • @SPERANZA65 I agree. Soo good.

  • Im in the US, never heard this version before. NICE!!

  • Some of the less-polished versions from the early ZOO singles are quite good--it's a shame the mastering on the Piano cd is so poor. This, however, is fantastic.

  • ThatPiano thing..green cover on Griffin label, right?

  • Awesome song, good video edit.

  • this is further out than i anticipated. Well done Graham Coxon...

  • nice video
