It's actually still an effective aircraft for the role it plays and with a decent payload as well. They''ll be retired within the next year though however. They have had an impeccable record in HAF service.

Corsairs go maximum up to 1100km/hr. They are light bombers. And being 2nd generation jets of the 1950s they are much more close to WWII aircrafts than modern post 1970s ones - the Greek airforce is the only that used them as common fighting jets and sends pilots in Corsairs to fight off turkish F-16s!!!! There have been cases of Greeks Corsairs doing Immelman turns on Turkish F-16s (amazingly unthinkable!!!).
corsair are for bombing..not to fight against F-16. even today corsair can carry 2 times more arms than F-16 or Mirage. it has an excelent target and navy system and it has a range double than an F-16. A-7 is an excelent bombing aircraft and it is so pitty than in a couple of years there will retired.

Face it , we have not only caught up, we have gotten ahead of you. LOL, we have 90 BLOCK 52+ *ALONE*, the first order was 60 and now another 30 which are almost done being delivered as we type!, they replace the A-7 on Crete. So thats 120 BLOCK 52+, this is NOT counting the OTHER F-16's, block 20's, 30's....etc. Then the MIRAGE 2000's, we had 50 and now we have 15 more and 40 of these are 2000 BGM/EGM!........DO I NEED TO CONTINUE? I already have proven you completely FUCKING WRONG! LOL!, the problem is you still think we are in 1989, we have caught up!

We have 90 BLOCK 52 ALONE!, the first order 60 and now as we type the 2nd order almost done 30 NOT counting the OTHER F-16's, blocks 20/30/40etc...which are totalling around 180 F-16's, with an option to get 10 more Block52. MIRAGE EGM./BGM- we have now 65 Mirage 15 new. Then of course the Phantoms (recon) and A7's of which 2 squadrons MIGHT be kept for a single role.....low level bombing. You do not have a dedicated fighter for this role , WE DO, you will have to DIVERT valuable F-16's :)

My friend, mliltary aircraft of NATO nations is my hobby. You still operate the F-5's and I believe that these are stationed either at Bandirma or at Eskisehir. You are also using the F-4 Phantoms as well in their "terminator" configuration. So don't tell me that turkey doesn't use old aircraft.

It's actually still an effective aircraft for the role it plays and with a decent payload as well. They''ll be retired within the next year though however. They have had an impeccable record in HAF service.

Very nice video - but nothing new under the sun of the Aegean.
Corsairs go maximum up to 1100km/hr. They are light bombers. And being 2nd generation jets of the 1950s they are much more close to WWII aircrafts than modern post 1970s ones - the Greek airforce is the only that used them as common fighting jets and sends pilots in Corsairs to fight off turkish F-16s!!!! There have been cases of Greeks Corsairs doing Immelman turns on Turkish F-16s (amazingly unthinkable!!!).

corsair are for bombing..not to fight against F-16. even today corsair can carry 2 times more arms than F-16 or Mirage. it has an excelent target and navy system and it has a range double than an F-16. A-7 is an excelent bombing aircraft and it is so pitty than in a couple of years there will retired.

yes, it is a good but old and slow bomber of the 50s, still there have been repeated cases where successfully Greek pilots kicked Turks on their F16s out of the Aegean ... I have heard of that famous U turn of a Greek Corsair against an F16... tell to an American or whoever else to take this plane and fight an F16 and he will apply for retirement
