That was so difficult for you to talk about, I could see the pain written on your face...it took courage to open up about it for so many people, I respect you for that!
Benji, thanks for opening up about your worst coming out story. We got to see a very vulnerable side of you which was amazing to see, you're so brave for sharing this.
You are a very brave man for being able to endure your friends harsh words. The never deserve you, liked you said, but I do understand what you mean though. They were like your brothers almost as family and family is supposed to love you and accept you no matter what. Dont worry I like you so that is all that matters ;D
I am so sorry that you had to go through that. You have to be really strong to deal with that. You're a great guy though, and you've come through it. That's the important part.
I have to admit, I was pretty naive about other races before I went to college. She needs an education on being more careful. One day, she's going to say the wrong thing to the wrong person.
To me, what's worse is when they think they know so much about different races and no matter who they see that shatters the stereotype they have in their mind, they think that's just one person and every other person is still that way.
Also, it was great to hear the "ugly" side that most of us don't hear when you come out to friends. I hope your old buddies grow up eventually. *BIG HUG* <3
Benji I was totally feeling for you while you were telling your story. I'm sorry your friends acted that way, and that it still brings up such strong feelings for you. :(
Racism is wrong no matter what, but I think if I have to choose which is worse I'd have to go with the non-ignorant person. At least with the ignorant person there is a chance their mind can be changed/educated. People who've made up their minds are much more difficult to change.
Benji--that was obviously a tough question for you and I admire the fucking hell out of you for re-living that painful episode and answering it so honestly. I hope Peter appreciates the depth of that response :) And yeah, your ROCKIN in that hat...LOVE it!
fucking brilliant -- fucking valuable. Coming out is important even when it initially blows up in your face (and it DOES, sometimes). But you're clear evidence that you can live through that shit and come out on the other side a solid, grounded, head-well-screwed-on person. Ten stars.
If they can't put their feelings against gay people behind them then I hate to say it.. they where not your REAL friends.
Friends should accept you for who you are.. They don't have to agree with what you do.. but should accept you for who you are if they are REAL FRIENDS..
lol at the Uno. I am sorry for the coming out thing, people can be such jerks, I feel so bad for you getting so upset they are the ones missing out! :( Racism hmm lol chicken wings were amazing back when I ate them, racism is stupid. btw I completely forgot yesterday was monday can anyone say STRESSED lol
Benji, takes brass balls to tell that story, you are my coming out hero. Japan invaded Taiwan, and always attacked China. Japanese would put the heads of Chinese on sticks when they invaded China. Enslaved Korean women into prostittion, not a pretty history. PS DON'T blame Japan today of past history, I'm just giving reasons why Chinese don't like Japanese.
*hugs kneebarbuffet* Wish I could say anything ANYTHING that would make you feel better. All my friends are open-minded, but I wouldn't put it beyond some of them to treat me differently if I said I was bi/gay/secretly an extremely butch lesbian/what ever.

UNO is one of those card games you can play even if one or two cards are missing from the deck. I mean, how can you tell?
We have some of the new UNO variants like UNO Flash, UNO Attack, Star Trek UNO, etc.

It's worse if you've met people from minorities and such, because you could still change your opinion when you meet people from said group.
