@LSelkiegal Well I think this case is a bit different; while there are many characters on kids shows who have slow thought processes and acts quite dumb, Derpy had some clear indication of retardation. Her derpy eyes and her voice (which sounds like someone with a speech impediment) combined with her careless actions could very well offend people. Not to mention her name itself.

I personally think it's a bit over the top that they censored the episode, but I do see where they're coming from.

@zackolot Actually, funny story, the voice actor who did the voice (I believe the same as Rarity) actually posted on her Twitter or something about how she had thought the character was male and modeled the voice after her neighbor's clumsy kid. So in all actuality the voice was technically "meant" to be male.
