Interesting comment there about the "tick",as most ppl generally spot what is wrong with other ppl because they do it themselves .....just a thought !!
I think there are very few birders that are in it for just the "tick" ! Most people I know are very passionate about their wellfare and conservation. I'm definetly with Lee on his few regarding the grest bustard reintroduction. Attention should be focussed on the declining extant populations in Europe.
I have been birding for thirty years and keep myself to myself. I have heard the name Lee Evans before but I do not know the man. From what I have seen he is very passionate and knows his stuff well. I have been twitching but I find the competitive nature of some birders to much to stomach. There seems to be to much interest in being the one who finds a rare bird than enjoying it and sharing it with others. Mr Evans keep up the good work from one passionate birder to another.

A lot of birders are only in it for the tick, which I think is rubbish & ultimately soulless - Lee is passionate about every bird that he sees.
