  • damn, thanks so much for posting this, what a f*cking awesome show.

  • No comparison, eddie vedder and pearl jam are 50 times the band that kurt and nirvana could ever wish to be,dave grohl is a huge talent tho,the foo's are great

  • @mikemalibu1 Keep in mind that nirvana only lasted 4 years... So your comparing two similar seattle bands, one 4 years and one 20+ years, lol

  • Is it Krausen Or Abbruzesse drumming here? I can't see him.. Sounds like Dave though...

  • @mikehowton707 It's Dave Abbruzzese.

  • Twitchy didnt get there yet :-P

  • i'd give everything to be there.

  • i was thirteen days old and pearl jam rocks in seatle..:( fcuk!

  • I can't believe the crowd are just all standing there! wackb34 ur right - they had no idea what they were witnessing.

  • this is better than drugs :p

  • This is truly amazing and yes it was history in the making. I am so happy they have stayed together for like 21 years now! On a sort of unrelated note, I noticed that Pearl Jam does have like 4 million likes on Facebook but then I saw that Nirvana has 12 million which I find incredible as they have been gone for so long now. Crazy! Both of the are awesome bands- the best. :) 90's rocked and I will never forget them.

  • O lo q daria por estar ahi.... cuando eddie era unjoven loko.. pearl jam contra el mundo...ahh lo q daria

  • FANTASTIC!!!

I was a teenager, at the time, with my heart and soul fed on a steady diet of Pearl Jam... AND IT STILL WORKS -LOL!

  • I think it sounds like the dude said "Plural jam" Still a groovy tune though ;)

  • And the rest is history!!! It just makes me wanna take my guitar out and jam out!

  • I want this Eddie right here/... ahh soooooo attractive and amazing vocals <3

  • @XxabsentlifexX dude they werent even really that well known except in their local music scene and this is what you are seeing..the band b4 they went big so the crowd is just a small local gathering..why stress

  • oh ya.. take me back!!!

  • PEARL JAM RULES !

  • thank god twitchy isnt there

  • This show was amazing, just 4000 people shared something that day.

  • i think pearl jam would be much better if they started doing soft songs instead of hard rock, take all the distortion out except for in the solo, that would suit his voice better, wayyy better

they should start making chiller songs i mean

  • @felix200100 whuut? That 'fusion' is exactly what made PJ the great band they were and still are. That being said, if such is what you'd want to hear, you should definitely check out the soundtrack album Eddie Vedder did for 'Into the Wild', you might love it.

  • @felix200100 you obviously havent listened to all their material..black oceans garden release indifference elderly woman behind the counter in a small town betterman daughter nothingman immortality thumbing my way wishlist god their are soo many what are you talking about..lol

  • Probably gonna cause a little bit of controversy here, but i think that Eddie Vedder is a much better frontman than Kurt Cobain

  • @broomeydbr9 I agree, but Kurt Cobain never wanted the spot light, he didn't want to be a front man

  • @Driven22 Yeah, that's true I suppose, good point. But I've heard quite a few people say that Kurt is the best frontman of his generation or whatever and I just think Eddie is better

  • @broomeydbr9 I agree with you too, I think eddie was better as well, I don't think Kurt was a great front man, he often didnt' even look like he wanted to be on stage. However, he was an awesome song writer and musician and I think that's why he's remembered.

  • @Driven22 I think you're right on man, there's no denying that he was great at making records. And great at performing them in his own way

  • @Driven22 Eddie never wanted the spotlight either..........

  • @broomeydbr9 Thank you, I think Kurt Cobain was shit

  • @adio123456789 kurt cobain was not shit how can you say that i'll say that vedder is a better performer but cobain was deffinately not shit

  • @adio123456789 without cobain = no grundge, no pearl jam... it's like without classical you wouldnt have modern music...

  • @kevenbelangerharbour dude who said that pearl jam is grunge o.o

  • @kevenbelangerharbour wut? really? god! did you really thought well before posting this comment? well if you dont know ill tell you... every musicians magazines, books, biographies etc. will tell you that pearl jam... there's probably a few that wont agree with but the majority will... for instance some people aborted child goes to hell because they didnt believe in god but some believe that they go to heaven cuz god, for them, is god of the defenceless

  • @broomeydbr9 by far

  • @broomeydbr9 Fuck controversy! we are here for the same reason, to listen to the fucking awesome music of Pearl Jam!! But even though i dont agree with what your comment says, i still respect your opinion.

  • @broomeydbr9 well id just like to point out its easier to be a better frontman when youre not playing guitar, besides i think kurt was known more for his songwriting skills

  • @adambailey2323 Yes, valid point, and I have considered that. But there are people like Jimi Hendrix who carry a guitar and still manage to be an awesome frontman. And about the songwriting, I personally would rate Eddie as a better songwriter than Kurt.

  • @broomeydbr9 u cant compare them too different. kurt played guitar so he wasnt a mover or shaker like eddie was.........anyway

  • @Orieus I know they are very different, but it's hard to avoid comparison, as Pearl Jam and Nirvana were like the two main grunge bands of the early nineties, and they were pretty strong rivals at the time, so it's pretty inevitable really. But the reason I commented is I've heard some people claim that Cobain is the greatest frontman of all time, but I think that Eddie is much better. But that's just my opinion...

  • @broomeydbr9 as u can see my username is vlatka cobain and i dnot agree with u .. i was thinking about who is beter PJ or Nirvana and i tought i dont give a fuk they r on the same lvl

  • @vlatkacobain I'm not comparing the two bands I'm comparing the frontmen, and I'm not saying Kurt Cobain was shit, I'm just saying Vedder was better, in my opinion. But they are both awesome bands. And as I said in the comment, I expected to cause a bit of controversy, meaning I know not everyone will agree with me

  • @danzilor is 19 ok ?:D

  • Tall pink shirt guy couldn't have been less into it. He's probably one of the 4 dislikes.

  • its so hard to believe this was 20 years ago

  • eddie before was a killer but now he's priest!

  • Eddie makes it all look so easy. amazing.

  • Many thx dude for posting this.....

  • I was at this show. Also saw Soundgarden play the Capital Theater in downtown Olympia, WA and Alice in Chains at the Evergreen State College in Oly. I miss those days.

  • I wis I was 17 back then..that would have been epic

  • @danzilor Me too dude :( I've always thought that... Music was just better then: Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers they were all there, and all at their best, and I wish I could have been there to appreciate it at the time, at the age I'm at now

  • 2 yars before I was born... :D

  • It's a shame that nowadays people listen and praise all of the horrible music being released today, while other people are hopping on youtube and down-talking stuff like this.....which means the minds of today have truly been poisoned. Society will eventually become a place where everyone thinks alike, nobody will have an opinion, and music will become a generic rant of inconceivable "art"

  • @JohnVo423 Thankfully, that scenario is impossible, because all humans are individuals.

  • @JohnVo423 Thankfully, that scenario is impossible, because all humans are individuals. It's just very easy to be negative when most popular music now is the R&B shit.

  • Comment removed

  • I've started listen PJ because of this song

  • @levorgo imo its their best song. Not much of a pJ fan, but they have written a few nice ones, such as this.

  • amazing

  • Most kids nowadays probably don't have the notion what this kind of music and power was back in the day. You had to be there at this time and never had listen to what came after....this music was pure creation originality and it stroke like a bomb, not like today where everything seems like a copy/paste of what was made over the years

  • Eddie Vedder is a badass!!!

  • I think the static pink shirt man listen justin briever today.

  • peeled blues

  • This is Dave's 1st performance with PJ. According to Wiki

  • 1 year later they were the biggest rock band on the planet just right behind nirvana ! god i miss the 90´s

  • honestly i havnt read one youtube comment that expresses hate towards pearl jam... i have watched a shit ton of videos with the greatest band in the world in them.

  • this is so awesome

  • 4 people have never listened to all of the album ten

  • what a bunch of loosers, the audience of course! thanks god PJ didn't take any notice and now we can still enjoy their music! that audience would have put anyone off! I can't believe they didn't even move their heads! what a waist! i wonder where are they now! listening to Susan Boyle perhaps!

  • The Vs. cd was a top seller for like 6 years.

And then they don't play for any venue with a ticketmaster contract cuz they add an extra sur charge, while pearl jam were fighting the managers to keep the ticket prices as low as possible

  • Fuckin legend

  • OMG! they sound so amazing LIVE! Pearl Jam is kickin ass! what is wrong with the audience!? are they too stoned to appreciate an amazing band when they hear one?

  • One last comment. I bet those assholes in the audiance brag their asses off NOW days that they were there that day. It sure looks like they enjoyed it--NOT! I hope the people they have bragged to see this series of vids and see how stupid and clueless they ALL REALLY acted that day when they got to see Pearl Jam IN person.I haven't even gotten to see PJ live. I wanna good old fashioned beat down on those losers who totally wasted a GREAT experience. *thinks of crowd surfing with a machete.*

  • great vid its cool to see them before they made it... thanks

  • ahhh the 90s....

  • I CAN'T control myself when im hearing this song...

  • how dorky is stone....?

  • This brings me back to my high school years Wish I was in Seattle instead of Boston. Wish everyone would appreiate how god this is.!

  • Wish I could have been there.. I was 11 at the time and saw some other free concerts there later in the 90's but missed this one... :(

  • "Back seat lover on the side of the road

I gotta a bomb on my temple and it's gonna explode

I got a 16 gauge buried under my nose

    I pray........."

I was 17 when this album came out. Damn, great memories

  • @ilovejourney1 16 gauge buried under my *clothes* hehe

  • @Baxter5775 hey, That does make more sense. I have been listening to this stuff since 92, and I thought that is what it was. Thanks. btw, their are really "16 gauge" guns?!

  • @ilovejourney1 No prob! Oh yeah, they run the whole gauntlet of shot sizes, running from, up to what's known as a ".410" shotgun (which would be something like 42 gauge if I remember correctly - the higher the "gauge", the smaller the actual size of the ammunition... always seemed backwards to me...) Once is actually a true story about a guy that went nuts on day and went on a killing spree with a 16 gauge. Not sure on the exact details but I'm sure another PJ fan could fill in the blanks here!

  • @ilovejourney1 lirics r wrong dumass

  • @hughes40 it's spelled "lyrics" dumbass..

  • This is them before....

  • good old days

the best album of the century

  • The last band to play? damn! that's not fair! Eddie has the greatest voice ever and the whole band is... well... the shit!

  • @AntonioMontana0 last band to play cuz they are the best there. headliners

  • No band in the world is PURE like Pearl Jam...

  • Mint Balls Deluxe

  • One of my favorite songs of PJ. Awesome power!!

  • once!!!upon the time!!!

  • I live Seattle I am 34 this matters because I was in middle school so could not go but I would have been there, they just put out ten people they were just a local band no big deal were from Seattle we see this all the time.

  • I can't believe anyone would utter such stupidity, Pearl Jam is just as massive and will be rocking hard well into their 60's or 70's like the Stones... so shut the fuck up... Pearl Jam n Eddie Vedder.. forever... I'll suck his cock... even though I'm not gay.

  • @Andres60state you are now haha ;]

  • These people had no idea what they were seeing....history in the making..

  • @wackb34 they had no clue at all

  • @wackb34 damn right, amazing stuff!

  • Comment removed

  • fuck i was only 3 when they came out. i've seen them in concert twice but i really wish i was old enough to have seen them back when they came out..i love them.

  • A true voice of a generation....Eddie, Stone, Matt, Jeff, Mike, and....dont forget BOOM! This is truly the sound of a generation..... PJ is our Beatles..plain and simple. The test of time. STOOD!

  • Why do people hate on pearl jam? They're a great band that is still rocking hard as ever....Its just baffling to me why anyone would dislike them.

  • @bigchief70 I couldnt agree with you more. i love pearl jam. i think ppl say negative comments just to get some sort of enjoyment out of trying to make you mad. it doesnt bother me when ppl say they hate pearl jam. i know theyre the greatest band out there and no one will ever change my mind. LONG LIVE PEARL JAM

  • that's shifting a bit. they went through a funny period, of very uncommercial music. they are also basically 'the last band standing' from the grunge period, a period that reminds everyone of the death of kurt and layne, not to mention mark arm.

it seems they are being recognized, slowly, for what they are - a great american rock band.

  • Comment removed

  • because kurt cobain said he hated all them, except eddie, and their music; they were too "commercial.." most people are lame (poseurs) and need someone to follow and something to hate.

  • Which kinds of people, the bible thumpers or the Metallica type crowd?

  • who hates pearl jam???

  • My roommate for one and a large majority of people I know. Maybe i'm just running with a lame ass crowd!

  • @mfbinc Noboby.

  • Even though I don't agree with this, every one I know says they don't like PJ cause they feel Eddie's an egotistic asshole..

I don't really see it though, he seems like a humble, all around nice guy.

  • @bigchief70

because they don't get why a band aren't after fame, as such. They don't get it because they (the haters) identify that they have bought into something they can't get out of .

  • @bigchief70 & @jeema3000--You are BOTH SO EFFING right. I want to be in your line. This is the most ridiculous audience for ANY rock concert I have EVER seen. I can overlook naivete but this is just plain stupid (unless they are all from the school for the deaf). That band is kicking ass AND putting on a great show, famous or not, that was probably free, and these morons were there instead of folks like us who would have appreciated it. Ugh!

  • @bigchief70 People hate on Pearl Jam?

  • @bigchief70 i dont know many people who hate them...they have over 4million fans on facebook you are acting like they are irrelevant..in todays commercial market they are not the in thing but dont stress about that..do you want them to be like nicklebak or daughtry..really these bands all copied pearl jam one way or another..if your a big fan of pj and the people you hang with hate them well go listen to pj with fellow fans

  • @muziqspumpinau Wow...you got all that from me pretty much saying i'm suprised there are people out there that don't like Pearl Jam... Not even close to what I was getting at..... Oh and P.S. I fucking hate Nickelback and Daughtry, not sure how you got the impression that I would be even remotely into them.

  • @bigchief70 i referred to those 2 bands as they have better commercial success these days than pearl jam..you stated why does everyone hate on pearl jam i answered do you want them to be commercially relevent like niklebak or daughtry..?..i meen who really cares if people hate them..lol..every band has their haters..even the beatles..comes down to taste and tone and everyones is different

  • ohh you hate the jonas brothers? wow, that's such a cute and humorous username!! you're really funny :D

  • @JonasHaterTillDeath Nah, Nirvana and Pearl Jam are first, the rest of them, I don't give a damn about the order...

  • LOVE IT

    LOVE IT

    LOVE IT

  • where can i get (dvd or any format) of this video.... i really miss the good old days....

  • ya one of the greatest band.. yeahhhhh!!!!!

i wish i was there to jump around.. because the crowd is so lousy.. pearljam at this time are not known yer?? right??

  • i mean they are not know yet in this year??

  • this is amazing Im so grateful it exists , thank you for posting.

  • ...it was an outdoor concert or what?

    o_O

  • no it was indoor but they made it look like outdoor^^

  • Just days before the release of Ten! :)

  • this is gold

  • lol i'm sorry we disappoint you so much, "heaveyrocker123". By the way, what have you done in your life that's so impressive? I'm 17, a guitarist/songwriter in an up-and-coming band that's getting gigs and playing in front of crowds. I'm putting my energy towards something productive. Who'r'e you?

  • lol im sorry you guys do too...cuz its true. Oh and you seem so cool man, i wish i was you.. good god!!!!another one of the billions of special people who play in front of crowds!!!

  • I MISS JEFF'S HAT

  • hahaha me too!! :P

  • I agree with you about Ten. The only song I have heard that I like that's not from Ten is Yellow Lebetter.

  • haha oh you must know best because u think you know them? why would you even post that shit man, crack up.

  • whats wrong with the audience if only they knew what the hell they were witnessing!

  • That's what's wrong with them. They do know what they are watching and they know this band will be huge someday! They are to awestruck to be rocking out. At least that's what my mum (who was there) says.

  • What the hell is wrong with the crowd?!

  • As a kid we used to always go on field trips to the Seattle Center. I ate my sacked lunch on that stage many-a-times.

  • Eddie Vedder ?! you are my idol !!

    gr8 songggggggg !

  • Once in a beingings begining a time and people sing once n a time to spread the happiness...

  • That stage is right in Seattle Center under the space needle, and anyone can walk on it at any time when there isn't a show.

Every time I am in the area, I climb up onto that stage and look out at the field from the perspective of all the great bands who performed there, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, etc., ansd I just let my mind take over, placing me in their shoes for just a few seconds.

    It's a pretty magical place. =)

  • I live in Seattle and I am forming a sweet band right now. We are going to play at this stage someday and we will definately play a Pearl Jam cover! I can't wait! :D

  • Damn...That fucking kicked ass

  • HOLY SHIT! These cats Ripped back then. Incredible performance. Thanks PJ.

  • If only the people in the fucking crowd realised what they were fucking witnessing.

Makes me sick that they arent goin nuts.

  • On fucking Fire!

  • That's not a "give a warm welcome to" it's a TEAR YOUR FUCKIN' CLOTHES OFF N O W!!!!! -I mean, it should be.

ps, I'm so in love with the guy with the dreadful shirt...! *_* -wish I were there! p.j. 4 ever

  • I wonder how much these original VHS tapes would get on ebay????????? (4) whole days before TEN dropped in stores!!!! AMAZING!

  • No need to move around or anything, people in the crowd. It's not as if you are in the midst of a seminal moment in rock history...

  • thats the the thing......people didnt start jumping until they became officially cool.....so it was never the music or where they were from...it was what hollywood wanted people to associate with the music.......i was smart enough to see this back in 1994....i let the busters play it out...now theyve moved onto 50 cent, so i can play some soundgarden and alice in chains without thinking of all the busters from junior high,

  • If only they knew hey? I would have been a one man mosh pit. My god what a great performance.

  • so you want them to what? Mosh? and miss it? I never got the whole "YEAH THIS IS A GREAT BAND! SO IM GOING TO RUN FULL SPEED AND BANG MY HEAD AROUND SO I CANT HEAR OR SEE THEM!"

  • Well, maybe they could jump around a bit, instead of just standing there

  • @jeema3000

    I think theyre in shock

  • @sacredcow024 nah, they just suck :L

  • @jeema3000 Tell me about, man. It's a shame they had no idea who was playing before their eyes.

  • @jeema3000 amen. i would give my left nut to have been there

  • @jeema3000 ahahah so true!!!

  • @jeema3000

maybe they were just astonished :D

  • Comment removed

  • look at eddie when the mc was announcing the band..

  • I remember seeing Tool the same way. You could literally TALK without shouting over their performance it was that quiet. The sound was studio quality even back then~91 but they weren't a well known band so everything was up and coming quality. Good times!

  • Where's the guy that was tripping on acid?......I miss him...

  • Its first song of that concert :) i think He arrived later :)

  • guess the tourette guy missed the first song...

  • those people just standing there obviously didn't know they were in the presence of greatness. how can anyone just stand there?
