  • I can only speak from my own experience, but it's been my medications that have made the journey of psychoanalysis a possible undertaking. It's all very interesting to me, this question of medication and analysis......thanks for a great episode!

  • towards the end the question "is it ethical for a psychoanalyst to prescribe medications?" is posed. Jane, you quickly respond that you don't think it's a good idea (though not necessarily unethical) because of the desire to work with the patients "pure mind". Made me think.....what if it is the meds that are actually making the pure mind accessible?

  • I can't wait till some of you wide eyes idealists have "kids" old enough to really lay a serious head trip on you and you won't be the ones sitting back psychoanalyzing Them. and to the ones with no kids who spend frilly occasional weekends with their frilly nieces. lol like "oh look at me i am "good with children" ha ha, but really its Much, isn't it..
