i upgraded the firmware and now I can "play all" without incident (i think) --so now I got no qualms with my little orange gem. I bout it used from amazon for about $30 or so. it said "minor cosmetic damage" -I don't not any damage at all. What I thought was damage turned out to be the microphone. so as far as I'm concerned it's good as new and right as rain.
Youtuber cvsporn said "give it the michael vick treatment and DROWN that FUCKER" in reference to drowning a Boxer puppy over on Katie the Boxer Puppy Gets In Trouble -one of momobot's vids. Oh, and he favorited your vid.
I'm a ipod lover but i support what this guy said ,it's ridiculous to see people wearing huge armbads o buying expensive case for their precious ipods . I have one of this I use it mostly when i go joggin ,to gym or when i do DYS work in my garage .
@Bartus1989 I think my clip plus sounds better lots of static. White noise. And my albums won't play straight through. It mandates shuffle mode or loops the same song / interlude over and over again. Its like it cannot NOT shuffle and it's frustrating
Its a good mp3 player, this is already my 3rd sansa (each time another generation) but i'm very dissapointed in the volume, my previous, a normal sansa clip, could go much louder! When there is some background noise like i'm in the car and the radio is on, i cant hear anything my mp3 is playing!(at its loudest)
i need with my sansa clip zip i was listing to my music and it just turned off i tried turning it on and nothing i recharged it and it wont work even on the computer
I was dissapointed that they changed the usb jack. I had a charger at work that is compatible with the old connection and now I have to purchase another cable.
Thank you for this review. my first Gen iPod mini battery finally gave up it's life. I use it for my bicycling. I am not doing the new nano, and for the money I am not going to buy 4th-5th nano either!! Wasn't sure if I wanted the zip or clip+
I am thinking the zip now after watching this review. thanks again
@ashneel99 I did get the Zip 4 Gig. I love it!! I am using Meelectronics M9 earbuds with it.
The biggest bonus for me (as I am on a bicycle in all weather conditions) was being able to control it under my wind/rain jacket even with my gloves on. The Zip's buttons run up to the left /right edge and are also on the bottom edge. Making skip forward/back a breeze. the volume is a little harder than skipping tracks, but very possible under the thin jacket and also wearing gloves.
@ashneel99 I think the Zip menu system is very intuitive, & easy to navigate. I am loving just plugging it in to my PC via USB and then using windows explorer to browse it. I drag and drop my songs to it, and I'm done. I happen to use (free) EAC 'exact audio copy' to rip my CD's, & I use (free) VLC to play my media on my PC.
Best $50 I've ever spent! and I traded the dead first gen iPod mini for an 8Gig microSD card. No leash, no tether, Awesome sounding tunes, & total freedom!
@tenken1981 They're pretty much the same device. Except the Fuze lets you watch movies on it. The Fuze is around $20 more then the 8GB Clip. Personally I would go with the Clip because it's cheaper, smaller and all I need is music.
1) Do you use the SLOT RADIO option? (only on Fuze, not Zip)
Go to SanDisK and read up on it. You own the "chip" but you can't access the music except in it's categorical order. You can skip but you can't rewind or jump back.
Can't download the music - you only own it in it's RADIO PLAY platform.
CLIP ZIP!!!!
2) Do you use the device to look at pictures? (Fuze only - not Zip)
best review on that device that I've ever seen. Great job for allowing us to hear the audio even if it wasn't authentic. I like that. Not alot of people do that.
I have a first-generation Sansa Clip loaded with Rockbox that I've used for years. It's a great player, but it's time for it to retire. I'm definitely going to be picking up a Clip Zip to take its place.
I finally got one of these beauties. I have to admit after 1 day I fell in love. You can setup USB options and it connects to the PC like any USB drive from there I just copy my music folders and it refreshed in under a minute. Including uncompressed FLAC audio simply sounds great. Because this little player has reasonable power I also ended up buying some quality AKG headphones and now I walk around like I've just left the studio. Its also great when your running, cycling or even shooting hoops
@fbnaulin 24bit FLAC, how do u mean? It plays lossless so whatever you flac from CD it should be able to play. I really love this little player for being able to play lossless flacs.
i cant decide. i want the bigger Sansa fuze plus and the sansa clip zip... i can only pick 1 because i dont need 2 so i dont know which one to buy. the sansa fuze plus looks like its for a everyday music guy like myself but the zip looks cool!
You really have to know what you want the player for. If you want to view videos, pictures, listen to music, etc. then the Fuze is for you. If you just want to listen to music, the Clip Zip is great.
hi, thanx for the rev .. i need to ask u about the quality of the sound ? is it pure and nit like ipod nano ?? and is the device compatible with my mac lion ?? thanx
ugh having issues with my clip zip.... :( first shipped with wrong usb.. (not micro usb) then with the little battery i had left. i tried to use my microsd 2gb, and it would freeze, got ahold of sandisk. support. hopefully they can help me out.. i really like this mp3 player..very light. and i love the color (orange)
Does anybody know if this player can skip from folder to folder (if you insert a microsd card with songs in folders)??? Thanks in advance for answering.
The main difference in this and the clip + is the color scheme. It's not just basic blue wording with yellow highlighting and black background. Granted, my clip + is very simple and efficient, but this player also seems to have the album cover feature, with more colors available for viewing as I already stated.
@52matt85 It doesn't matter. The Sansa Clip+ is 'probably' the single best mini mp3 player to have ever been manufactured. Great sound and even the buds it came with were pretty good. It has a cool electronic retro thing going on with is basic l.e.d. color scheme. I lost my Clip+ a few months ago and I'm getting the same thing back. I don't care for or need album art and the Clip+ is even smaller than the Zip.
@shaisudri310 yes, when you plug it in your PC will ask what you want to do. Simply select open as folder. This is similar to the way Mac users will use the device. It will open as a drive open it and drag music into the music folder. Done
