I used to love how NASCAR used to race... one by one, over 190mph, and hard. Now at Talladega, its all about **safety safety** so they have to have a drafting partner, plus they go wayy slower than here in this video...so boring nowadays..

I've watched this clip now 10 times and no where do I see Johnson trying to block Vickers. Johnson pulled to the inside of Junior and Vickers was to eager to push him to the lead and clipped his right rear quarterpanel sending him into Junior. No where did I see Johnson blocking Vickers. Kinda hard to block someone at Talledega while running in 2nd place.

Ha, I remember this. Vickers was a dud, Hendrick finally gave up and got rid of him. Not only did he wreck Jimmie (and subsequently Junior) because he forgot that you can't pull behind a car if they aren't clear of you, in the middle of 1 and 2 that same lap if you watch he goes way high and almost turns Jimmie into the wall then.

@ml24jg the scenario was jr was racing to get a lap back in front of the field and vickers got a run on him and there wasnt really room . vickers was almost clear meanwhile jr is being forced below the yellow line by vickers and jr moved back up to get in line with him and pretty much clipped vickers the same way .he just barely got into him and it took out half the field ... it was just a misjudgment but everybody said he did it on purpose kinda like this video

I think it was a number of things, not just Carl Edwards wrecking Jr. in Atlanta. Jr. cussed in victory lane at Talladega, and that was a deduction in points, he had engine troubles in Darlington, and that's some more points to take off, and then there's Atlanta.
I was at this race. Just the reaction of the entire crowd was amazing. It was like a horrifying accident had just killed someone the way everyone gasped.
Been to Talladega 8 times, and this is the best finish I've ever seen.
jr is such a champ the way he presented himself in this interview.

@Slotten68 Maybe next time you can review footage and see that Brian vickers put him under the yellow line. If Jr had held his line, he still would've wrecked Vickers. If he had stayed below the line, he would've been black flagged.

@cpcomedy314 Im quite familiar with the footage. Its called a BLOCK and the yellow line rule has been here for ages. How come nobody in the series except Junior have a problem with this rule? Maybe he shouldn't have been an egotistical/vastly overrated asscan and just let off the throttle and fallen back into line considering he was a lap down (something he usually is) with 75 some laps left.
Drivers, commentators, experts all agree it was his fault... much like his lack of success

Jr was a championship contender in 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2006. 2008 his 1st year at hendrick Jr was a championship contender the first 3/4's of the season but didnt do shit in the chase. winning races dont mean shit for a championship. its consistency. I agree Jr has fallen off pace but it doesnt mean u suck. he's had 2 off years

What I find truly amazing is the difference between the driver's reactions of these kinds of incidents and the fan's reactions. If you truly are a Jr fan, I would expect you to react like Jr does. Not necessarily verbatim, but with a little more class and a little less douchebag-ness.

NASCAR existed even before Dale Earnhardt Sr, and it's gonna exist after Dale Earnhardt III if Jr. has a kid one day. I like Jr. too, but even I know that NASCAR isn't about Jr. If it was, he'd win every week. Now personally, I'm pulling for Jr. to end his slump, but same with Jeff Gordon. I like him more.

@Mr420woo Well, in 2003, I definetly feel that Matt Kenseth had earned the title. I know that isn't expected to be said from a Gordon fan like me, but I will agree that Jr. could've won it in 2004. I think it was a number of things, not just Carl Edwards wrecking Jr. in Atlanta. Jr. cussed in victory lane at Talladega, and that was a deduction in points, he had engine troubles in Darlington, and that's some more points to take off, and then there's Atlanta.

I was at this race. Just the reaction of the entire crowd was amazing. It was like a horrifying accident had just killed someone the way everyone gasped.
Been to Talladega 8 times, and this is the best finish I've ever seen.

jr is such a champ the way he presented himself in this interview.
if this was Kyle Busch he'd be crying and sucking his thumb. No other driver (except maybe Mark Martin my favorite driver) presents themselves better than Jr in situations like this. you gotta agree with me here.
