@xoxostephanie101 Rats can eat almost any veggie or fruit. My rat eats romaine lettuce, parsley, and cucumber at the moment. Don't give them pasta or any starches. COOKED meat is okay in extreme moderation. They are omnivores, so they can eat meat. I basically feed my rat anything that my guinea pig eats. Stay away from pet store food. i'll make a video about the foods they can eat. :)

@xoxostephanie101 rats are omnivorous, so they CAN eat anything, but that dosnt mean they should. table scraps (human food treats-veggies, friuts, crackers, not that much cheese, i wouldnt risk feeding them meat that could be undercooked or bad) are ok, but remember that ther tiny and neded small portions. ther main food should be a mix off rat blocks (u usualy see them in the rats food bowl at pet shops), mix grain diet (kinda looks like trail mix), and fresh foods (veggies and friut)

:) she is a blue husky,all rats are rats (petrats),but they can have differenent colors and drawings.Husky is when they have white face up between the eyes,and the color will fade as they grow older.

@StrayingSoul Actually, the broadest types of rat are simple: wild rats and fancy rats (pet rats). Within that, there are many different types of markings that a rat might have, as well as their color/coat type.

Dumbo rats have bigger ears, and the ears themselves are more on the side of their head.

before you think about any kind of breeding look after the ones you got, and mac and cheese is not correct food, give them food in nugget form so they cant pick n choose , then they get all nutrients they need with plenty fresh water too.

Rats often sleep for most of the day and stay awake at night, but pregnant rats need more sleep than rats that are not expecting babies. Pregnant rats are also more prone to biting. Your rat gave you a warning only, nipping you as she did. Say "eep" to make her let go. I do hope she is not pregnant, just worn out with the excitement from getting a new home.

An aquarium tank will work as a temporary solution. They should not be allowed to play together at all, as it takes no time for rats to copulate. You will not be able to stop them, even if you are sitting by. But you are right to say they need cagemates. As to bedding, you can buy paper based pellets or bedding made of leaf trees instead of coniferous. You will have to look up the specification on the package. Do not trust the shop assistant to know the difference. The cheapest but perhaps smelliest possibility though, is to use old newspapers.
