I've awful trouble persuading the Aussies that the Radiators were/are a better band than U2. Nobodys heard of them. So I stick them on in the car and roar out the lyrics all of a sudden Im hanging out underneath the 19th century street lights, walking the streets of paradise... waiting for Kitty. "Hows a goin there Kitty? what are me chances? Would ya ever fuck off ya red neck FUCKER an' stop annoyin me. Ah ok then see you round.. like a rissole Oh fuck I'm back in Frankston.
Could never go for u2 like I went for this band... from the Joyce references to the nights in Belfield....agree about the first album as well...a totally underrated band if ever there was one...
A Joycean classic, by the unsung heroes of irish punk and pop, T.V TUBE HEART, is still the best irish album, ever recorded, its up there with THE CLASH,S first album
Easily my favourite Radiators track of all time, I can still remember Dave Fanning playing it some time after 1am, when I was a nipper in the Carmelite College, Moate. One of the few good memories from that shitehole.
Shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as U2.
