how do you play a racing game on a computer? unless you have like a wheel or something

@cantugabe you can play with a joystick/joypad or even the keyboard if you like. these aren't recommended though. a wheel is definitely needed for drifting and a 'force feedback wheel' is essential so that you can feel the cars weight movement and balance slides properly.

My Xbox E74'd and I'm sorely missing drifting on Forza 3.. is rfactor still active enough to justify getting a thrustmaster f430 wheel and rfactor to try and keep drifting?

@KsantiMedia my xbox red ringed on me and i got stressed out not being able to drift in forza 2... i found rfactor and this mod and never looked back.

the scene is a little quiter these days, but right now there is a season of competition running.  weekly events. juicy tracks are being released (ebisu south just a few weeks ago)... and generally its still very much alive... especially with rfactor2 right around the corner. should be interesting. :)

@TheCodeLyokofreak yes, there are a couple of different versions of the car in the mod + a mountain of skins for it. you can see me driving the 2009 version of hibino's black AE86 at 1:37 + 1:54. :)

At 3:01, How do you get your camera to face that way? When your turning or what?

@SouSouSuraiDa307 yea, i have the camera turn in the direction my wheels are facing when i drift. better visibility for me that way. its been a long time since i changed it though... i think you have to edit your 'player-name.plr' file.  find Lookahead Angle. experiment with values. mine is at "0.20000" right now.

I do have the game and the mod already installed here...

Now i need a G25, because im flawing terribly using gamepads.

@daltonlm7 yea, a gamepad will be very tough to use compared with a nice 'force feed back' wheel. G25 is an awesome choice. i use that right now. you might want to look at the G27 too. ive not tried one but i think would be just as sweet.. probably better - smoother + quieter - but no sequential shift mode. :/ good luck! :D
