there is a way to get a human smoke colored skull faced scorpion costume but i forgot.the funny thing is he takes off his skull face and theres another skull there *Then* he lights him up with one fatality

mk4 sucks ass....thanks to this gay ass game, i lost interest in mk til the new one comes out this spring. these characters suck ass, and are so damn gay. i hate how they started incorporating weapons into the games, and it all just turned to shit starting at mk4....seems like n64/ps1 marked the shittiest periods for so many great franchises. I love MK1-3.....but with how much all the other ones suck...I have to say street fighter will always edge them out...better, more memorable characters

Just look up secret codes for mortal kombat 4 on google. You'll find something. I definitely remember there being other costumes like the James Bond suit for Johnny Cage.

MK4 also had the best Continue screen, hands down. Just your fighter you chose falling down a well when you lose to somebody and you have 10 seconds to make up your mind, but wait, what's at the bottom? It's pretty obvious, razor sharp spikes.

MK4 Arcade Zeus hardware produces 1.2 million polygons per second and the characters of arcade version come with more than 10.000 polygons. There is no perfect home version of MK4 even today which is sad. MK Gold is close to the Arcade in polygon count but those cheap versions of Kung Lao, Baraka, Cyrax etc. and those cheap new stages ruin all the magic MK4 had. So i mush say that MK4 Arcade is still the best and I hope that somewhere in the future there will be an XBLA port of it.

The N64 version is not "arcade perfect". The graphics and sound aren't as good as the arcade version. And the colors are washed-out. Also the gameplay is not as smooth as the arcade version.

I said that the arc ade version is smoother because of the amount of polygons vs home console. other than that its pretty much arcade perfect!

@TotalMK Actually the arcade version played a lot slower. In the reviews and how they sold it on consoles was that it was "better and faster than the arcade". That was the deal. It was better on the home versions than the arcade because you had to do everything faster. MK 4 in the arcade is sloooooooooooooow. Oh and just because it's less polygons doesn't mean less animation. The game was rarely marketed as better, and faster in the US. The arcade version was slowwwwwwwwwww.

I used to have an euro N64 which output only composite but couple months ago I bought RGB modded Japanese N64 from UK webshop Consolegoods and I gotta say even Mortal Kombar Trilogy looks a lot better in RGB. Every single one of my N64 games got a new life thanks to the better image quality, I recommend to you too TotalMK if you allready haven't got one :)

The N64 version of MK4 was the very first MK I ever played. I usually played as Kai, Jax, or Shinnok back then because they looked cool. My dad usually played as Raiden or Scorpion because of the respective flying torpedo and spear attacks. I now have this for PS and It is still one of my favorite MK's.

The thing I liked best about this on my PC was doing the fan fatality with reptile. You'd turn invisible with him, then do the fatality and it would look like the guy flies then throws himself into the fan.

But you're absolutely the right, on N64 you don't have the loading times and in a way a much better graphic like on PSX.

Being Kitana isn't an official kode, It's an exploit that can be accessed with the Gameshark. Doing those exploits also can put your memory card data at risk so I don't like to mention the "unoffical kodes" basicly the gameshark ones.
