  • Very cool, but I am glad it never gets cold enough to try this here in Los Angeles!

  • thats sooooooo cool..... i tried it and it works

  • @park121998 but it HAS to be cold enough out side

  • @park121998 worked here, -27F, it was awsome

  • Thumbs up if you've tried this and it worked

  • Does anyone know the warmest temperature this can happen at?

  • YEAH GO WISCONSIN!!! WHOOOO!!!

  • Why is there no videos on putting boiling water on an iced car

  • @directorphilip2 it doesn't work it makes it worse, it freezes up the windshield

  • @directorphilip2 why would anyone do that.

  • WOW!!!! holy shit ! and never wanna live ther :L

  • jeez its -20 where i am just now

  • <3 gotta love physics

  • Beats me, but if boiling water turns into ice for that kind of exposure, wouldn't people's eyeballs be quite frozen...

  • @dennydaydreamer actually not, while that boiling water was already in boiling temperature, it doesn't have any energy supplier to keep it hot, your eyeballs wouldn't freeze right away but as soon as your body can't supply any more energy to keep at normal temperature :D

    Have a nice day xD

  • @MrHootani So... you're saying our eye's will boil out if we stay at room temp...

  • that was just snow in the mug!!!!

  • OMG O_O

  • lol there too cheap to dowload the music off the internet so.."hunny turn up the samba!, were making a video!"

  • does your pee turn into a cloud?

  • @YourPowerStation lol you gived me a idea next winter, and lol you dont hum put out your INSTRUMENT/* when its so cold XD

  • Imagine if you have to pee... in the snow.... XD

  • @Bonzenpunk You must not live where it snows?

  • i never doubted that but this video isnt it really happening imo

  • Good idea, I'll be sure to try that this winter. :)

  • yea that was real. a real vid of some cunt chucking a cup of snow he scooped up with a mug

  • @newguyantiunitbot have you actually tried this experiment? living in an area that can have extremely cold days I can tell you that this can happen

  • -20 is not that cold actually, you get used to it.

  • @joonas10101 fuck you! Not even my fridge goes that lower!

    XD

  • @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

  • For all you people that think this is fake it isnt. Boiling water freezes faster than cold water, it is called the Mpemba effect, look it up

  • never take a piss in cold weather

  • @gorillazfan3 really, really??? piss wouldnt freeze as fast as boiling water

  • @myNEONCITY sakes, man! cant you tell what a joke is?!

  • did he almost get hit in the face by some of the water and say f ck?

    LOL

  • it does that because the surface area of the water is increased allowing cold air to touch more of the water. and throwing it up in the air makes it very think letting the cold reach it better...

  • wow! I'll never be there

  • I like how every one compares this to putting a hot cup of water in the fridge.

    Fail

  • Water has one of the highest heat capacities of any substance so don't go telling me that's ice :/ Am I to believe that if i put a cup of boiling water in my freezer (-18c), that it will cool down in 2 seconds? hahaha

  • @baguetteman69 -20F is much colder than -18C. Also, it's not a big blob like it is in the freezer, when you throw it there are much smaller particles that can lose their heat much quicker. The ratio of surface area to volume is much bigger in a droplet. I

  • @Alarindris Yes -20F is -29C but the video says it is -20C anyway. Also, I disagree with you about the size of droplets. When you throw a bucket of water you do not get smaller than droplet sizes, you actually do get big blobs. The only way to achieve smaller than droplet sizes would be with a diffuser.

  • @baguetteman69 hot water freezes faster than cold water

  • @myNEONCITY Yes i know what the Mpemba effect is. It states that hot water freezes faster than cold water like you said. What you fail to see is that it does NOT state that hot water freezes in 2 seconds as it is claimed in this video..

  • @baguetteman69 it depends how cold it is.

  • @myNEONCITY -20 is certainly not cold enough

  • @baguetteman69 it is cold enough

  • Haha. No way boiling water would turn to ice that fast. You have some undercooled water in there or something. I don't know what the trick is, all I know is no way would boiling water ever turn to ice so fast. EDIT: Watched the video again and you don't even show it's liquid what's in the glass. Boiling water would at least steam. :/

  • @arpakyna -Sure it can! I live in the Arctic, dude...I know it can. Believe me, I know, I read it on the back of a matchbox....

  • @arpakyna u r very stupid arent you. boiling water freezes faster than cold water!!! it is called the mempha effect, look it up

  • Haha. No way boiling water would turn to ice that fast. You have some undercooled water in there or something. I don't know what the trick is, all I know is no way would boiling water ever turn to ice so fast.

PS. I live, and have grown up, where we get at least a couple ~ -40C days almost every winter.

  • @arpakyna u r so wrong on everything u just said in that comment

  • Haha. No way boiling water would turn to ice that fast. You have some undercooled water in there or something. I don't know what the trick is, all I know is no way would boiling water ever turn to ice so fast.

PS. I live, and have grown up, where we get at least a couple ~ -40C days almost every winter.

  • i like the music

  • over in england we have had -467

    just saying :D

  • Right...-467...I see.

  • lmfao.... so... low only -20C.... in here finland we have over -28C

    just saying

  • We recently had a new cold record here in Sweden, over -40C!

    Just saying :D

  • don't you mean under -28C? over would mean it's warmer than -28C.

  • @Mrmagic135 Can I touch you? Can I? Pretty pleaseeee?

  • @Mrmagic135

only? 8 degress doesnt make you superior :D

well in australia in winter it can be as low as -0 at night

    BAM!

  • L now Finland highest record is -36C ^^ and dont reply pl0x

  • @Mrmagic135

i really couldnt care when people brag.

plox means sarcasm right? sorry if doesnt

    ha :D

  • here in manitoba canada we get -50C sometimes.

  • There is no such thing as -0...only 0 hehe. Kinda proves you don't really get those temps too often, and probably only in the mountain, or maybe Melbourne...(since Melbourne gets kinda crappy weather). O, and Hobart maybe....but never -0...LOL!

  • @Zorica12

damn. now i look like a fool lol

    but no, its pretty common.

im at the foot of the mountains here in western sydney and the tempreture has a bit of range. 45 degree days in summer and the low minus's at night in winter

    bit of a mix

  • No worries!

  • Dont be taking a piss outside!

  • lol

  • Aycurumba!!!!!!

  • WOW! forget the damn water! it does sound like samba in the backround!!!!!

  • @jmvargasme Hells yeah!

  • isnt this just the same thing which makes snow from (supercooled) vapour or damp inside clouds ? water has the ability to overcome the liquid phase under such circumstances, so the buildup of ice crystals direct from the vapour happens.

  • Party time!!!

  • yeaaa!!!! let dance!!!

  • SOUNDS LIKE A FIESTA IN THE BAckGROUND

  • you just threw snow. Well, how should the hot water contain hot it that plastic cup?? BUSTED. Make a better one-.-

  • @Sammyen94 Look carefully--when he throws it, it begins to freeze and looks like snow, but you can see larger, heavier ice crystals falling right near the cup.

  • @Sammyen94 u r stupid, there was boiling water in that cup, and it turned to ice, it is called the Mpemba effect, look it up

  • hot water freezes faster than cold water b/c the molicules are moving faster

  • yeah actually billiam is right. because in order to freeze the molecules need to come together, so when its hot to really cold, they collide.

  • @billiam3853 haha you never took a physics class have you?

  • that was snow

  • @filixan no it wasnt

  • Comment removed

  • it is ice dude i did that my self and it works

  • look at your face thats even frozen

  • shoot*

  • dang super cold. i want to put hot water in a super soaker and shot it.

  • remind me never to live there..

  • @tommy0135: Here's your monthly reminder: Don't live there...lol.

  • @tommy0135 bitch

  • @tommy0135 whats wrong with wisconsin

  • @myNEONCITY um...it's cold?

Are you not smart enough to know that kind of weather is uncomfortable?

  • @tommy0135 sorry but these people r full of bull shit, it is very rare it gets this cold and wisconsin has the best summers, well almost, california's are the best

  • @tommy0135

haha yeah forget wisconsin. come to minnesota, instead!

  • @tommy0135 Baha -20 in Wisconsin, try living in Winnipeg where it's -40*C :P Screeeeeeeeeeeeew that.

  • @youFAILatLIFExD

Try to live in Yakutia or Taimyr. It's -60C in winter XD

  • @youFAILatLIFExD -40*C is the same as -40*F. But ya it would be hell to live there

  • @greg58sean24 You're right, it is >.> Either way I use Celsius because I'm Canadian :x

  • hahahah just one of natures mysterys, but i think it might be the fact that there is a large difference between the boiling water and the outside air temperature, so soon as its exposed there is a lot of potential in the water particles, so it freezes at a fast rate and osrt of carys on till it becomes ice or somshit like that i dno

    !!!!

  • here is fucking cold weather -33.8*c

    (i live in Finland)

  • So cold no girl seems to be hot anymore.

  • lol

  • That is just steam, which is hiding most of the water from the camera. You can see the water falling to the ground at 0:05.

  • Lets argue about water!

  • no, YOU argue about water!

  • Actually, you can freeze it like that.

  • no snow its just steam i would say

  • Looks like he was throwing snow in the air? o_O

  • ...You can actually see and hear the water fall to the ground, it just cools down fast enough that it's no longer steaming by the time it falls.

  • I never wanted it to be so cold.

  • The water actually vapourizes and become like an ice fog. Crazy!

  • Oh really....

    O_O

  • Sure did by the looks of it.

  • Boiling water would never freeze instantly, no water will. The steam you see is the boiling water quickly cooling down, the water itself is still falling to the ground as a liquid. Go do the same thing over a street or sidewalk, it would get very wet. Now if you threw it off of a 30 story building it may freeze solid by the time it reached the ground.

  • Indeed, most of the water is falling down on the right, no yet frozen.

  • You are actually very wrong. I'm not sure where you live, but I live in Minnesota and I've done this before. I did this with boiling and non boiling water when it was about -35. The non boiling water froze before I was even able to throw it in the air. The boiling water froze in mid air, and came down in dime sized chunks of ice/snow.

  • I live in Winnipeg I've done it at -44F it will never freeze that fast. btw, boiling water will freeze before cold water. Like I said do it over a street.

  • Comment removed

  • XD druing summers here in eagle pass you can throw ice in the air and watch it boil and turn into vapor befor it hits the ground (im exagerating a little to show how hot it gets here :P )

  • i live in ontario it got to -45 last year

  • lucky betteer cold then hot

  • i live in South america it got +45 2 weeks ago :P

  • put it in a baloon and shoot it or what ever

  • the water would melt through the baloon?

  • Well I don't care if it's nothing or not. It's interesting to see just how warm you can have it to do this experiment.

  • ahhh the old flower in the cup gag

  • Not quite....you can see non-powdery ice fall back out of the cloud near the end.

  • yea i know...it was a joke

  • its probably better than having mood swingy weather like in england

itll be hot one second then it just turns into some heft rain

  • It goes to like, 30-40degrees celsius here:P So idk if this is F or C but it says C so I'm thinking celsius:P

  • haha what the hell music is playing in the backround....Why hasn't anybody commented about that!? A fucking conga, man.

  • Wisconsin can get really freakin cold!!!

  • that was fucking cool! end of maybe in the future england may well have similar cold weather. although i hope i'm not here when it happens

  • I thought it got cold here! Thats fuckin cold!

  • Ahem.

    Winnipeg gets roughly -40C winters.

  • lol ya -20 wow thats warm shorts wether ;)

  • wisconsin kicks ass

  • Impressive...

I live in a tropical country and there's no winter here...

    Too bad... =(

  • You are not missing anything Zuchrizal. Winter is horrible. The only good thing about winter is the first or second heavy snowfall, then everything after that is down hill until spring.

  • but the winter sky is amazing.. it is always nice to see the orion nebula on a cold winter night

  • nah man live near the mountains the only good thing about winter is snowboarding everything else SUCKS my lips get chapped so much i feel like a snake who sheds every year

  • i think you ment to say "up hill" down hill is easy part, :P

  • i'd rather be on top of a hill than at the bottom

  • trust me, you are not missing out...

  • I live in FL, we have only 2 seasons = Summer and Summer

  • @creatine64 actually u r partly right, in FL u have summer and hurricane season!

  • @myNEONCITY LOL very true!!

  • @creatine64 lol

  • Who's listening to SALSA ????? LMAO !!!!!!

  • Incredibly, Google is running an ad over this for a "Warm Fresh Water Bidet."

Let's sneak into their factory and mess with the controls, so that what is supposed to be warm and fresh will instantly drop to -25* when the user hits the button!

  • -25c is not bad if the day is clear. its all about wearing multiple layers of clothes & covering your neck, face, ears and having good gloves & shoes.

if the day is windy you might not want to walk, drink some hot chocolate and stay home! :)

  • how how is that not bad

  • I live in australia i have no frost reached 48 degrees C one year i dont no wat that is in farinhieght

  • About 119 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Salsa music, lol

  • looks pretty cold out! What I am wondering about though, is why are u listening to that music lol

  • Don't dis salsa!

  • it fools you into thinking its warm =P

  • Its similar to the experiment..., contrast. :D

  • looks more like liquid nitrogen...

  • i live in norway or north in norway and in 1999 we did get -51,2 degrees or in fahrenheit negative 123,8 degrees

and the temp was like -40 to -51,2 for like a week

  • My wife and I live in South dakota and did that in Jan of this year when it was -20f out. Very interesting.

  • -35 is not a temperature sane people live in. I just want you to know that I live in Austin TX where if we throw hot boiling water into the air it comes down hotter :) You northerners must have antifreeze in your veins :)

    hehe nice.

  • You get used to it c(= for us, anything above 50 F is shorts weather, and 80 F is getting too hot to go outside.

  • I'm a Texan also....I totally understand : ) In the summer I water my pets with ice cubes.

  • I am also a Texan, grammer
