  • 4 of us a 1000 miles this week, all had different sleds. Here is what happened. 06 Apex In the tight and twisty trails? The 2 strokes walked away from it. Apex led the pack on the straights & lakes. Only sled that kept close to it was the 2012 800 Arctic Cat. 2010 Skidoo MXZ 800 blew it's engine. heat light came on after it blew. Polaris got a hole in the heat exchanger, plugged it up with gum and worked fine. Power steering may benefit the Apex in the twisty's? Yama Most Reliable 4 Sure.

  • there the best groomed trail sled money can buy as well as being one of the best sleds to mod out can get upward of 400 hp but saddly not everyone want to ride groomed trails only nor do every have 18,000 to buy the sled then another 20,000 to build a mountain mod. this is the biggest reason yamaha sits 4th in maket sales they need to realize theres a place for both 2 and 4 stroke sleds and they need to stop telling me what i should ride and listen to what i want to ride

  • I had my first Yamaha 4 stroke (dirt bike) in 1986. I was young, dumb and didn't take care of it and it still did not once let me down. Fast forward 26 years, now into snowmobiles, their quality has only improved. I think Polaris and Skidoo are better looking sleds but would never buy one for that reason alone.

  • Only Bob Davis changes his Apex oil every year.

  • 2 stroke all the way

  • you just cant fucking break them. its as simple as that. the weight is the price you pay for a sturdy machine that IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BREAK

  • id sure they sell for thousands more you buy them for thousands more. ill take my polaris over a yami anyday.

  • @PolarisDragonman600 i have both...haha

  • Heavy to ride, don't like to turn, and you will need 3 people to get it unstuck once you miss those turns.

    Sound amazing though.....

  • @lkoury i think reliability outweighs (sorry for the pun) any of the disadvantages you listed. you ever seen a ski-doo, polaris, or AC that you can turbo to 600hp and still be able to ride it all day long without issue?? because ive never seen one.. or maybe one of the other brands that can get a sled to last for 40,000 miles without tearing into the top end? hell the guiness book confirmed the record last year for YAMAHA

  • yamaha disadvantage rule #1: Weighs more than a tahoe

  • @dirtbikeboouy I never notice the few extra lbs. I'll take the solid Yamaha 4 stroke and Yamaha quality over a Polaris or A-Cat 2 smoke, blown pistons, and other breakdowns anyday. Owned them all in my 30 years of sledding and my Yamaha's have never let me down like my other sleds have. BTW: A 4 stroke Polaris or Cat are comparable in weight to a Yamaha.

  • @jknengr796 i ride snow-x/ rough trail so weight is my numero uno. the weight of a 4 stroke is just unacceptable.

  • yes! you guys are back!

  • Except that they weigh a ton so in the mountains you might as well be driving a brick

  • @marekiam is that why turbo yammi's are setting highmarks that no other mountain sled can touch so far??

  • and i would rather own a polaris anyway

  • I'm 17 and have the money to buy a truck or 2012 AC XF ProCross SP turbo limited...anyone wanna put in their 2 cents?

  • @Nops341 Truck... youll use it way more then the sled

  • @Nops341 yes, your gayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • he didn't mention how heavy they are and resale doesn't mean anything when ur paying $15,000 for the sled in the first place, my friebd bought a USED 2009 yamaha nytro for $6,500 when i went out and bought a brand new 2011 ski doo and ror $7200, the ski-doo handles better, gets better gas milalge, excelerates better and oh my god is it WAY lighter the only reason i can see some one buying a ski doo today is if you "bleed blue" which my friend does he buys yamaha everything (dirtbikes, generator)

  • @daleyracingteam Or what about when u need 2 repair it? Front end bushings will set you back over $200 not including labor. Rear suspension bushings/rebuild is even more. I own 2 Yamaha sleds RX1's & love them but cost wise they are among the most expensive sleds to purchase & maintain that I have owned. For the record I also own a T cat, a ZRT800, a ZL800EFI, a Mach1 & a Formula 500 all of which cost far less to maintain then the RX1's. But none have that mean 4 stroke snarling under the hood!

  • images from season 2009-2010 when luke did a ride with his friends to Algonquin park!

  • No this is from last year!

  • Did you film this clip this season 2011-2012?

  • yesbox

  • @600etecXRS and we meet again my ski doo foe

  • @FrankieJames7 why even bother writing to me? communist!

  • @600etecXRS capitalist cod nerd, you scared? haha
