does the spark gap act as an electromagnet, the bottom circuit being that of a closed osilating current? must the capacitor be at such a high amount? and can the device be used in conjunction with the tesla coils and radiant(scalar) antenna?
i am simply trying to understand how the circuit functions and the cheapest materials i can use for it in place of high quality.

The hairpin device looks & seems to behave like an RF standing wave does on an end fed folded dipole. Be interesting to see the predominant frequency radiated on a spectrum analyser.

tesla mentioned the gradient on the bars appears because of the impedance of copper at RF.
