I so love this program but the fact that they missed the end of the music by so much really irritates me. It just spoils the mood they'd carried throughout the performance. They are too good to be that far off.
I have to say this dance is amazing, I personally didn't like much else they did. This dance could have so easily been messy and frantic, that's the nature of that piece of music, but they kept it controlled and secure. Deserved gold.
Oksana and Evgeny absolutely amazingly outstanding skaters/dancers,no wonder they WON so many GOLD medals in the row and were unbeatable for many many years. Still no one could beat their record of GOLD medals!!!!!!!!!
How come in 1994 the move at 4:28 was classed as 'illeagal' for Torvill and Dean, and yet here it is not? He lifts his arms above his head jsut as Dean did, and it is the same motion of Grishuk as it was Torvill.

So she has a scratchy landing off a lift, and miss the end of the music....how on earth can you give 6.0 or even 5.9 for presentation?! Oh yeah, the result was decided BEFORE the competition, based on their 'reputation'. Thank god for the new scorong system...
cause if you listen to the video you will understand why from the commentary. They danced like none else. None has their speed, their passion, their movement their techique. Their presentation was so powerful that those mistakes couldnt hurt them. Sometimes the dance itself and the creativity are enough. If you can't see that yes go and praise the new scoring castrating system
I've lways thought they were brilliant! Even with the small errors, it's so easy to forgive because their programs were always so much more difficult than everyone elses.
When I was young I didn't understand why they won over the others-even thought they broke some reals in their 1994 Rock N' Roll Free Dance. Now I understand that apart from their excellent artistry-they were simply the best athletes in this discipline out there. Greatest speed, power and of course the always technically sublime deep Russian/Ukrainian edges. THAT is how a deep edge should look like. They really knew how to use them.
I PREFERED THEIR PERFORMANCE IN THE EUROS

I love this routine-thank you for posting this! It's my second favorite of theirs after "In Memorial" from the 1998 Olympics.

edited for spelling: I meant 'even though' not 'even thought' and 'broke some rules' not 'broke some reals'-I gotta stop trying to type fast lol!
