I believe it should be roughing the kicker until the ball is caught similar to punting the ball. You can't rough the punter really until your team receives the punt. Serves the kicker right for not being able to take a hit. When I played in highschool, our kicker never took part in any hitting/tackling drills. I don't think most do. But they should, because once in a while, they do have to make a tackle, or take a hit.
In reality this is dumb for the reciving and would only be done with the intention of hurting the kicker or trying to scare him. The recieving team lost a blocker just to hit the kicker who is rarely involved in the tackle. Dirty play. I dont like it one bit.
I didn't see anything outside the rules here...I think more teams should take this approach. Or maybe the damn kicker should just wake up and keep his head on a swivel. It's a football field not a slumber party.

A week later fans stand in ovation as their suspended coach makes his entrance to watch the game from the sideline. A pathetic display of sportsmanship putting a players health in jeopardy for the sake of a cross-town rivalry which poky ultimately lost 26-13. POKY PRIDE!!!
It was the best part of the game. Coaches from both teams got suspended, the refs did what they should of. It just makes the rivalry better. This will be talked about for years to come. SD25 is gay, thats your problem. Maybe if it would of been penalized, then harrison can get it trouble, but it wasn't so SD25 shoud stay out of it. The thing that bothers me is that the day after the game Coach Harrison admitted in the local newspaper that the only way that Poky could beat Highland was to take Taysem out of the game. Then when the investigation comes around he denies it. Coach Harrison is a good football coach. He has good win record behind him with Snake River, and he took Poky to the state championships. I just don't understand why he would do something so stupid to ruin it all.

Serves the kicker right for not being able to take a hit. When I played in highschool, our kicker never took part in any hitting/tackling drills. I don't think most do. But they should, because once in a while, they do have to make a tackle, or take a hit.

In reality this is dumb for the reciving and would only be done with the intention of hurting the kicker or trying to scare him. The recieving team lost a blocker just to hit the kicker who is rarely involved in the tackle. Dirty play. I dont like it one bit.

The coach specifically had them do it for this game because the star QB was also the kicker. They didn't do it in any other contest. The hope was to knock him out of the game. Encroachment (he was across his free kick line before the kicker kicked the ball) - Rule 6-1-3, 5 yards;
Blocking the Kicker (he hit the kicker before said kicker had gone five yards past the free kick line) - Rule 9-3-4, 15 yards;
Flagrant Illegal Helmet Contact (he butt-blocked the kicker) - Rule 9-4-3-i-3, 15 yards and player ejected;
These are just the ones I can identify from the grainy video. The officials were sleeping.

It was the best part of the game. Coaches from both teams got suspended, the refs did what they should of. It just makes the rivalry better. This will be talked about for years to come. SD25 is gay, thats your problem. Maybe if it would of been penalized, then harrison can get it trouble, but it wasn't so SD25 shoud stay out of it. I dont blame poky tho, the cant beat highland without cheap stuff like that... and they still lost.

Even if this hit was legal, which it isn't. The thing that bothers me is that the day after the game Coach Harrison admitted in the local newspaper that the only way that Poky could beat Highland was to take Taysem out of the game. Then when the investigation comes around he denies it. Coach Harrison is a good football coach. He has good win record behind him with Snake River, and he took Poky to the state championships. I just don't understand why he would do something so stupid to ruin it all.
