@thatciggaweed There are far better cars in america that get better fuel economy but im not sure how you would want to expect say 40 mpg hwy mileage on a sports car? Thats plan dumb. And also those are estimates. MPG varies from how you drive and what shape the car is in. Go figure

@sexyboi142 i would easily expect 40mpg on the highway from a car as small, light and low slung as this. especially with a turbocharged 4 cylinder engine. i have since found out that americans do infact get a lower grade of fuel to what we get in europe. our premium unleaded petrol has a 98 octane rating and our standard petrol has 95. in america the highest available octane fuel is on average only 91. explaining the poor consumption because the engine has to run a lower compression rate. BOOM!

@sexyboi142 the 2011 bmw z4 roadster with the standard 2 litre engine does 41mpg combined. and 31 on the highway. its considerably faster than this, handles better, built better, looks better and best of all its got a brilliant folding metal roof, looks like a coupe' at a glance. you cant argue the fact that your cars get lower fuel consumption than european spec cars. but your fuel costs a lot less than over there.

Just to comment on DDs no one ever said comments in the review. Now-a-days that is just an old argument for cheeping out, but then charging top dollar for the car! If they would have omitted all that stuff and the car was somehow lighter, then ya, it would be worth it. In reality, those things do not cost any extra money and all good sports cars have them these days. I can't live without a good cup holder etc. I drive so much I always have a drink around me (the ones in this car sucks).

The Solstice feels cramped because the door jams are so high. A girl whos around 5 feet cam barely see over the dash. You didn't mention the cars absolute worst feature. It hydroplanes like no other car I have ever owned. Swapping the stock tires for some great performance tires and it completely changes the car. I recently did the exhaust, trifecta tune and high flow cat. Bumps the HP by 100 and the torque by 120. Makes the car really haul ass.

yes, really. its an Opel developed engine. the majority of GM's engines are developed by Opel, except for the LS-series V8s and truck engines.

the engine used in this car was used in the previous generation Opel/Vauxhall Astra OPC/VXR well before it even made it into the Solstice GXP/Sky Redline, Cobalt SS Turbo, and HHR SS.

This car is way better looking than an S2000, and the power on the S2000 only really comes in at ridiculously high rpms so you never really FEEL it. Turbo'd cars are great.

yeh I saw it, but I'm not a big fan of performance ute's (the weight is all wrong to start with) unless they take out the stock engine and put a 1500+bhp whopper in the tray (I saw one once at the Adelaide Clipsil 500 doing massive long wheelies)

it wasn't built, nor was it developed by Pontiac. it was built in the Holden factory, then shipped to the states.

a true Pontiac would definitely be the Solstice. it was the first ever RWD car to come from GM in a LONG time and it performed better than it's competition.
