Hey Susan Im from the UK and been doing a lot of catching up with your family and your music. Love everything you do and stand for. Keep fighting and take care :)
Your new CD is great Susan. I'm a 54 yr. old musician/singer/songwriter. I love the Cowsills. I've been following your family since I was a teenager. In 1970 I jumped the fence behind the Minnesota State Fair grandstand, got backstage and met your family for autographs. I was thrilled. So sad for the loss of your brothers Bill and Barry. I am battling breast cancer. It's damn scary. I've been listening to beautiful, wonderful Cowsill music through my treatments. Thank you.
thank you susan for opening up my eyes, i can't imagine what it was or is like there now.....their still talkin' shit, susan...what has to be done for them to listen. thank you so much, god is watching us all
Love the video, love the song and I most certainly respect the artist.
Susan, I can only imagine the struggle it takes to go full throttle doing what you love (music) but you are an inspiration. Life is to short to spend it bored and unhappy. Humble musicians like you are some of the best humanity has to offer.
I only wish you could make a cameo on HBO's Tremé. Somebody needs to tell the show's producers to wake up and get Susan and the band on the damn show!!! :0)
@b1aflatoxin You're getting more than your wish! We perform 2 songs in episode 8 of season 2, and we're about to film something in episode 10 too! Thanks so much for your wishes!
Obama has done more damage than Bush and he's only in his 2nd year in office. That's why be careful what you wish for because you just might end up getting it.
I was sent to Texas ahead of the storm due to my work and did not come back for seven months. The available news coverage didn't include much of this kind of news. I did not know about Barry's death until I found this video. My deepest condolences to the Cowsill family for their loss.
Excellent song. The Inclusion of George W. Bush was unnecessary - NOLA's evacuation and post-Katrina clean up was and remains a local government issue. City ->State -> then assistance from federal government if required. The mentality that has been bred there made everyone immediately look to the president and federal government first! True racism "you people can't make it on your own means...".
Breathtaking voice, & important video! Sadly, there has been no real Change with Obama. To achieve REAL Change, we need to look beyond the false Left /Right paradigm & learn about the puppeteers behind the puppet Presidents. Type in "The Obama Deception changedachannel" here on youtube. Vital info w/ guests: Professor Griff from Public Enemy, Willie Nelson, hip hop artist KRS-One, Dennis Kucinich, Foremost Trends Forecaster Gerald Celente, author/economist George Humphrey, Alex Jones, & more!
The people of New Orleans supported & put up with the most corrupt & inept city gov't. in the country because they got handouts from that gov't. Then when disaster struck & the locals proved corrupt & incompetent & they suffered for their support of those crooks, they blamed everyone else for it. This is not a defense of Bush, who mishandled the situation, but I'd put the main blame on the local govt. & the complacence of local citizens in indulging & tolerating 100+ years of local corruption
Susan!!!! I havent seen you since 69. I've missed you. It looks like you have been very busy making a difference. God bless you. keep the faith. Missed you. So very glad i found this video.
Ytube did not list my entire comment. I think Happy Christmas is a song which Susan could sing with all the with all the emotion and passion she brings to songs taht are very deep songs. I hope she will include this on list of songs to perform or cut a record of it. Well hopefully Susan will come by Ytube & see the request to her for this song. Thank you again for ups on her new release............ The World at Christmas Time will be looking forward to getting it.

ziggycat999 I am with you. Susans Just Believe CD is our sgt pepper music for the 2000's . One song I would love to hear Susan record is Happy Christmas by John Lennon.. It would be great to hear her record Happy Christmas For like Lennon,Susan s loves and prays for the human race. Happy Christmas is a suitable song for the way things are going today. . Take care.Zoe
Thanks y'all for the comments. Happy Christmas is a wonderful idea! Beautiful song for sure. We just recorded Susan's first Christmas song, "The World at Christmas Time." Find it on itunes, etc. It's on A Very Threadhead Holiday on Threadhead Records. Hope you enjoy it.
I would also like to point out, Neil Young record 'Impeach the President' indicates almost a year later-Young indicates What if Al Qaeda blew up the levees
Would New Orleans have been safer that way
Sheltered by our governments protection
Or was someone just not home that day?
I am very greatful & thankful Susan made sure the message will not be forgotten some 2 years later with this powerful song.. Hugs and Love ..Susan..Keep fighting the good fight. Greatfully...Zoe
At 3:13 in this video I am seeing those guys pointing up towards the sky it reminds of what happen when Superman was TV.You may recall everyone always went, Look up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane.Their pointing reminds of that. Fast forward to about .3:26 Bush is around sitting there in AF one & looking like, I really fu**ed up big time, this time. Fast forward to 3:30 we see Susan singing talking shit around town. Keep rockin Susan.. You are making difference .God Bless YOU
I reviewed this video . I agree with Susan. All I can see here is everyone in charged looked like they were shaking their heads & this matter was blowing their minds and have no idea what was going down or how to fix it.What really stands out is at 3:13 both Nagin & Bush both look like old friends meeting, big smiles and hugs-fast forward to 3:13 those folks out there pointing their fingers , they look like all those folks did when they saw -Part 1
Well, Bush wasn't the only one that dropped the ball during the Hurricane Katrina/New Orleans catastrophe.
The Mayor of New Orleans (Ray Najin & the former Governor of Louisana (Kathleen Blanco) both democrats, shares plenty of the blame, too. Of course, their names are not mentioned whenever Bush's name is brought up on this issue. I wonder why. After all both NewOrleans and Louisana had a mayor and governor at that time.
I will never forget the image of hundres of flooded school buses in New Orleans that could have been used to evacuate the people. Where the heck was the mayor?
@Yesteryear47 Bush OFFERED help on national television the day before the Katrina struck. The governor of Louisiana made it clear that they could handle their own problems and federal aid was not welcome. The day AFTER Katrina, they cried like babies about how Bush didn't do his job.
If the governor of Louisiana or the sorry-ass mayor of New Orleans had been worth a damn, they could've used public transport to evacuate their citizens. A whole fleet of school buses underwater. Smart.

@Yesteryear47 I'm not a Dem but I rode out Katrina, and I can say this to you, the Gov and mayor was in the middle of the crap down here fighting for life like all of us, losing family and friends. Bush was on the outside looking in and should have had more control of coordinating help for us...see the difference? If not you need to be in the middle of such a disaster.
@Yesteryear47 I agree. Not only that, but the people of New Orleans received plenty of warning and failed to leave for what ever reasons. I think we have learned from this tragic experience though.
jamie2628-Always loved the Cowsills, especially Susan, the remaining FEMALE, and with all due respect, I loved that song about the Bush shit and Katrina. God luck to you and yours always, honey.Wonder when the band will get together again on the east coast. THANKS !

Susan I love this song very much. I listen to it every day. Whenever I encounter problems in life, I think of this powerfil song to remeber is it up to all of us to do our part to make changes. I sure t hope tyou just believe is CD is reissued again. The world needs more Susan Cowsill.Thank you
I truly found this to be the most profound songs to come across in a very long time. I rate this song as great as John Lennon's Gimme Me Some Truth. Susan songs will be here it will stand the test of time. I am greatful she spoke up some 2 years later indicating the problem still remains. I admire her strong vocals and thank you Susan for reminding us the problem was not over and sit around and sit around you nailed it.
I Love your voice! I Love your lyrics even more! Wow! I Miss Barry so much got the chance to hang with him on occasion great guy! gone way to soon, way to soon !Charlie Newport Rhode Island
as tragic as it was to lose a single life at all in katrina. the ones i am bothered by the most were the shut ins. the rest had 5 days of "get out the storm is coming"
Isn't it amazing how Bush supporters have to mis-represent any criticism of the ass-hole, because down deep they know they put a man in office that is not interested in making our country a better place. To think Susan is blaming Bush for the storm just proves that Bush supporters are not interested in the truth.
Great song...great voice. What a cop out to blame it all on George Bush....the Mayor wouldn't even let help into the city at first.........Let's move on...give the new guy a chance and keep looking ahead....not back.
jamie2628-What a great song! She told the truth about Bush, what a horrible administration! If Katrina wiped out a rich city, the U.S. gov's would be there in a hot minute. Great voice Susan! Thank you .
Susan, I could listen to your soulful words for a life time. This needs to be on main stream radio, and TV. I am offically your biggest fan. Christmas is a time to be grateful, well I am gratefull for the Cowsills and especially Susan. Please never stop. Tommy from North Carolina
I'm glad to see she's an equal opportunity insulter of politicians. Nagin, Bush Blanco, "Hurricane Mary" Landrieu, Brownie and Vitter were pictured when she sang "You're talkin shit around town". I hope when Barack O (B.O.) screws up, the media and the liberals will be just as angry at him as they always seemed to be with Bush.
Creativity at its best with sadness ...pain I was wondering what ever became of members of the Cowsills ...and now I know...I think George Martin producer of the Beatles would have had a field day with them back in 1969.......but Susan you rule....rock,and bring back....Americana....love ya
I am 70 and love yah Susan since the Flamingo in Las Vegas when I last saw you and your family 'the cowsills' the night Barbara or Bob announced that one of your sibling had been drafted to the Armed Forces. Hi Susan, Saw you at the Red Dragon in BTR Friday night. You were awesome doing this song live. In all honesty I had never really heard your music before, and was thinking about not showing up. Boy! I'm glad I did.
You know I am a big guy, however the truth in Susans music chokes me up and puts a tear in my eyes. She not only tackles social issues, she bring love and peace. Love American Style, what a great concept. To reachout and touch a person in need and truly love one another. The world needs the Cowsills and Susan in a bad way, these days. Please keep doing what you do best. Thanks for your contributions, now and in the future. Tommy From North Carolina
Susan, your musical truth touches my heart and my soul. I am so grateful for you and your brother. We need the Cowsills and you, to bring us hope and teach our to love again, American Style, instead of all the crap we got handed during Katrina. My heart goes out to you and your remaining family we love you guys. Tommy from North Carolina
Please keep singing and performing. We need your music and the Cowsills. I would hate a world without the Cowsills. I am just a farm boy from the Carolinas. I have always wanted to be at a live concert, but none ever came close enough for me to see. Please let me know if you come near Charlotte NC and I will be there. God I love your voice !! My favorite artist !!
Hi Susan, my name is Rene and my friend Matt and i took a picture with you at your show Saturday night at the Carrolton Station. I can,t wait to see you again . You were awesome and are one of the nicest and sweetest persons i have ever met. You are an angel on earth. I hope we can become friends. See you at your next concert here , Love Rene.
Keep singing the truth. I understand you and your brothers will be in NYC tomorrow night (that is where I'm from - I'm in Wisconsin now). I wish I was there to see you all perform (I have your 45s and have been a fan since I was little). My best to you and your family.

Keep singing the truth. I understand you and your brothers will be in NYC tomorrow night (that is where I'm from - I'm in Wisconsin now). I wish I was there to see you all perform (I have your 45s and have been a fan since I was little). My best to you and your family.
