@Guitarist80 - Nothing like the sound of a National Steel! Johnny Winter says he loves it because it "sounds like a garbage can with strings and you can't get any funkier than that!" Well said and keep playin'!
very nice, this is one of my favorite songs! if ya wanted to see someone elses take on this song that is in my opinion very original but still keeps it classy check Ploy of Oracle-Nobody's Fault But Mine, keep it real!
OK I just ate my size 13 foot....man you got it and I love it! Thanks for sharing and singing. Blind Willie Johnson is one of my all time favorites. I learned of him from Kaiser Mansfield, and that brother can play too! You are blessed and I wish and prayer for many blessing and protection. I am a fan, So I will meet you here, there or in the air and we will play a few tunes together!
Ya, that was nice to watch I just wanted more..God gave you a gift...run with it. Blind Willie couldn't sing and his wife was horrible...but that doesn't make the musician. It is Heart, Soul and Spirit. I believe it was the Hubble they put his record in. What a statement the only artist in space, lol. So if you feel you want to sing that is God giving you the ok even if you cant you'd better. If you don't want or feel like singing don't. I'd better see more of yours before I eat my foot!!
Umm....dude......yer good. How bout you play something longer than a minute? Lol! In fact, you being pretty d*mn good...how about you play something nice and long. Am sure everyone would be thrilled to see and hear it.
Sweet. Because I really like your playing. You're one of those dudes who can play anything and it'll sound good. So a nice phat 9 minuter should do the trick. :) Show people how it's done...
Hard to say. He recorded the song in 1927 on Vocallion lable. I don't know of an earlier recording. A lot of early blues and gospel recordings were based on traditional themes. What is clear though is BWJ rewrote the rule book on how religious material could be performed.
Thats some pretty damn fine picking there son, but I warn you, that your music sounds like the devil taught you how to play. Aint many people round that play git fiddle that fine. Only thing you missing is a whiskey soaked voice.
Funny, yer all shy - and meanwhile that was really good. Please keep playing and posting. (Singing is gerat, but when you play good - it's all you need.)

Yeah I would like to get a National. I like the way they sound but they are kind of high though.

@Guitarist80 - Yeah, I always wondered how guys like Blind Boy Fuller and Peetie Wheatstraw could afford theirs. They sure weren't rich!

This one's Blind Willie Johnson, not McTell. I get the 2 mixed up pretty often myself by their names, but their music is extremely diferent.
On that note, if anyone knows anywhere i can get anything from Blind Willie McTell (aside from the statesborough blues album) send me a message
