Ya, that was nice to watch I just wanted more..God gave you a gift...run with it. Blind Willie couldn't sing and his wife was horrible...but that doesn't make the musician. It is Heart, Soul and Spirit. I believe it was the Hubble they put his record in. What a statement the only artist in space, lol. So if you feel you want to sing that is God giving you the ok even if you cant you'd better. If you don't want or feel like singing don't. I'd better see more of yours before I eat my foot!!

Hard to say. He recorded the song in 1927 on Vocallion lable. I don't know of an earlier recording. A lot of early blues and gospel recordings were based on traditional themes. What is clear though is BWJ rewrote the rule book on how religious material could be performed.
