First a friend mentions the term Gasification. Then I'm amazed to see it run an old honda civic on Youtube. Then I'm amazed to hear during WWII, there were over 1,000,000 of these cars or trucks running in Europe. And now I'm watching a truck RUNNING today from the 40s on gasification. So let's see...it's been over 70 years, and it's a closed cycle fuel so no offshore drilling, no container ships, no processing plants...Why don't we see them everywhere? Easy, can't tax it;) Woot for gasification
@leifthor415 Because its not practical, and extremely dirty. Its hard to regulate the mixture, hard to start, and makes only limited power. That, and where would you get all the fuel from? It has a very low energy density. Ethanol/methanol fuel production or electricity generation from organic byproducts is much more practical and easy to implement than gasifying it directly (and is the method of choice in todays industrial world).

@leifthor415 The idea of using biomass for fuel is a good idea and one thats often implimented, but this is a very inefficient way to do it. Long start-up time, poor thermal efficiency and power, and large amounts of pollution. Theres a big gap between an "idea" and an idea thats practical to impliment. Maybe OK for some guy in the woods, but not on any sort of large scale.
Interesting concept but I like how I just have to turn my key in the ignition to start up. As stated by stuartsbusshcraftblog, starting this thing up is akin to getting an airplane motor spinning.
@nobodyprepper Yes, you got the shredder in the trunk, feeding the wood dryer using the heat lost from the gasifier, that goes into the hopper. Just throw some dead stuff in the shredder!
@ 4:20 the driver moves a lever and says something, can any1 more familiar with the language translate for me please, i need to know, my OCD is flickering like mentle :P
the gasifier is made in sweden. that one is for military trucks. and is pretty rare even in sweden.

these were very popular in europe during WWII when gas was hard to come by and wood fairly easy to come by

in the last two years I have seen hundreds of videos of the category tactical / prepping / survival ...
or just videos showing great ideas for saving money ...
My opinion is that your video has won all ...
if you need to fill up with fuel ... cut a dead tree ...
and the truck travels ... Fantastic!

@frackcha It will either be to adjust the ignition timing or to adjust the fuel mixture. Not got a clue what he said though!
