I try to laugh - this country and its people are a joke. We prefer the degraded landscape of shopping mall and commercial strips with plastic everywhere. You can't vision a reuse of beautiful architecture.
A silly people we are, building silly structures for silly ventures.
gary, you're just the type of person who would wouldn't see anything wrong about trampling whats beautiful as long the SOMEONE was making a profit (the root of casino/lottery capitalism). Dwight Eisenhower, when he was president, wrote a letter to his brother describing folks like you. You should google it and read it. Its in the historic record. Oh, and to answer your "question" - why would I do that? Then the knuckle-draggers win.
What a waste. First the school board lets the building fall apart, then pushes and pushes until the new school referendum passes. A little preventative maintenance would have gone a long ways. I'm glad I'm no longer a tax payer in Lake County.
thanks for posting! I have been at work durring the demolition...so this is kinda crazy to see! Even tho I didnt like it when I was there its hard to see it crumble lol :(
I was surprised to feel so saddened by this video. So many fun memories were made inside of those walls. I guess, no matter how ugly the building may have been the memories there will always be cherrished! Deb---Class of '86
This is a classic example of our politicians not working with other political entities in a community to find a reuse. The community of TH MN looses. Hopefully what rises out of the destruction that our educational system has brought on will benefit Gods will in our lives.
LSSD #381 will be an example to the nation of what not to do.
looks like a WPA building, despite heavily remuddled, showed Deco elements. what a waste.

The operator must not have liked school very much. He seems to be enjoying smashing the school pretty hard.

My word. My suggestion, as to all people who publicly comment, do your research before you cast canard such as this.
